Feeding Strategies of the Beings of the Interspace. Part 1. «Ministering Spirits»

We have repeatedly discussed that, from the Myth’s perspective, the world is not merely an aggregate of flows of energy and awareness, but also streams of consumption.

We also said that, according to this view, all beings can be divided into two large groups: consumers of life energy (“blue” light) and consumers of psychic energy (“red” light). The first group includes practically all “free” beings, as well as a number of inhabitants of the Interspace — the majority of Elementers and Elementaries. The second group comprises the “ministering” beings of the ascending current — Goetic Demons and Epiklets, as well as Archons and their own “parasitic” psycho-elementals — lamassu.

Each of these groups of beings is characterized by its own dietary preferences and strategies. Consumption of large volumes of life energy results in the death of the victim’s body, while consumption of large volumes of psychic energy leads to degradation of the mind’s flow.

Clearly, both phenomena are highly undesirable for their victims, and just as consumers develop feeding strategies, producers must develop defenses for protection and survival. From this point of view, Magic is a set of methods and strategies by which a being, first, preserves as much psychic energy as possible and, second, uses it efficiently to develop consciousness.

Of course, to defend successfully against predators and parasites one must know what threats these beings represent and by what means they achieve their ends.

Therefore, despite the apparent density and vagueness of grimoire literature, careful and conscientious study of it proves to be not merely “exercise for the mind,” but a guide to survival in a world teeming with predators of many levels. Thus, the Goetic corpus is less a compendium about “calling” or “classifying” Demons than a manual on resisting them.

As we have already said, the system of “Solomonic” Magic divides all the serving beings that inhabit the Interspace and hunt for the “tensepneuma — libido — into two major types: Gatekeepers dwelling on the Threshold and channeling energy through it from the sephirotic worlds into the Qliphothic, and Epiklets, dwelling in the space of the Interspace. Recall that, having a “grey” nature, both kinds partly consume the psychic energy they extract from victims and partly transfer it into the “black” spaces of the Qliphoth.

The general nature of all Demons’ feeding is the same: they push the mind toward a distortion of the basic flows of libido, so that instead of simply passing through the foci of the mind from the “blue” to the “white” state, the “red” light becomes an independent energy that seeks an outlet — and it finds it in the jaws of these predators. In other words, if instead of running the cycle of awareness through all its stages — detection, identification, exploration, application, and integration — the mind becomes turbulent, stalls, or loops, the accumulated tonos of the pneuma looks for discharge, and, failing to find it in its “natural” channel, erupts outward, where it is consumed by predators.

Note that Demons do not coerce and do not force the mind to lose energy: as a free manifestation of the Great Spirit, the mind cannot be enslaved without its consent. Therefore, the predators’ strategy is deception — a distortion, a perversion of the mind’s own functioning: by “whispering” false notions into the mind, predators merely push it toward destruction, but the choice remains with the “free” being, and the process of dissipating its energy is carried out by the mind itself.

According to the principle of the quaternary, by the level of their influence on a victim’s mind, the predators of the ethers are divided into four groups:

  1. “Fundamental” or “Supreme” Demons, who obtain energy by distorting the basic principles of the mind’s functioning. These are, above all, the supreme dyad — Lilith and Lucifer — as well as Demons that distort the principles of the psychocosmic elements, such as Moloch, Beelzebul, and Agaliarept.
  2. “Elemental” or “cardinal” Demons, who distort the stages of the awareness process: Amaimon (Carnesiel), Ziminiar (Demoriel), Goap (Caspiel), and Corson (Amenadiel). Included here are also the subordinate “intermediate” Epiklets.
  3. Planetary” Demons, who distort the creative manifestations of the mind, disrupting its “skeleton.”
  4. Zodiacal” Demons, or Gatekeepers, who distort the primary currents of libido — the “blood vessels” of the mind.

We have already discussed that in every stream of consciousness, in every psychocosm, one can find the activity of all the entities mentioned, but that does not mean they all have equal or even significant access to its energy. Nevertheless, each mind has its own “demonic spectrum,” its own set of destructive agents through which energy is lost. The “implantation” of a Demon into the system that supplies the mind with energy is a disease, a pathology that must be treated accordingly. Although in most cases such implantation is merely a form of possession — that is, using the mind, the generator of “red” pneuma, as a “livestock,” a food source, and the victim often doesn’t feel much subjective suffering (and is sometimes even content with their situation) — this does not mean that the situation is normal or productive.

Regardless of whether we “believe” in Demons, observe them, or ignore them, the indisputable fact is that the mind of most people functions far from peak efficiency. And if we are willing to expend effort and resources to maintain the health of the body, it is at least odd to ignore diseases of the mind.

For millennia, the Tradition of “Solomonic” Magic has developed systems of diagnosis and approaches to therapy for such maladies, and although, of course, their use requires considerable effort and significant preparation, the result can also be enormous.

Without “promoting” or urging anyone to “practice” Magic or even to “study” it, it is still appropriate to offer it for those who want and are ready to make use of it.
