The Body of Feelings

Just as the capacity of the mind for concrete action is embodied in the form of ‘dense’ and ‘etheric‘ bodies, and its capacity to operate with ideas and models – in the form of the ‘thought body‘ – the mind’s ability to generate impulses that lead to the formation of vortical movements in the World Environment shapes its feeling body (desire body).

In other words, when we consider manifestations of the mind as actions that transform the “physical reality“, we are speaking of its activity in the ‘physical bodies’ (‘dense’ and etheric); when we consider the mind in the aspect of information, ideas, models and matrices, we speak of its manifestation in the ‘mental body’; and when we view the mind in terms of impulses arising within it, in terms of its transition from a potential state to actual action — we are speaking of its activity in the “desire body”.

It is the desire body, as the primary instrument of transforming the Medium, usually called the “astral body“, although, as already noted, a stricter use of this term (judging by descriptions of what that “astral body” does) may be applied to the “dream body”, the vedogoni.

The point is that as soon as the mind moves from abstract planning, from operating with ideas, eidetic forms, or models, Me, to the desire to realize those ideas, this striving produces corresponding changes in the World Environment, which in turn lead to the formation of a manifest response. At the same time if the mind seeks to trace the source of these transforming impulses — desires — the sum of creative forces that have arisen in the mind but are not yet “immersed” in the Medium is described as a distinct layer of the mind’s channel — and that is the desire body.

Just as the ‘dense’ and the ‘etheric’ bodies, the feeling body is differentiated: it can be described as having boundaries and form (unlike the formless thought body).

The feeling body carries out the transformation of two streams — by its means, first, the conversion of ideas into intentions, impulses; and, second, the “reverse” transfer of perceived information, of perceptual data, into the domain of their processing.

Because the desire body receives these two currents — the “descending”, realizing, and the “ascending”, perceptual — it is capable both of generating impulses of desire in response to signals from the “thought body” — in which case we properly speak of “desires“, i.e. impulses arising from the depths of the nature of the mind — and of generating impulses in response to signals about lack of resources coming from the ‘dense’ bodies — in which case people commonly speak of “needs“. In addition, the desire body is capable of producing its own impulses that have no grounding in either the “upper” or “lower” layers; in such cases we speak of “caprices” and “whims“. Most often caprices and whims arise in response to the activity of the shadow, when it has sufficient energy to generate them.

In the case where an impulse of desire arises in the feeling body, failure to realize that impulse leads to a rupture in the connection between the “upper” and “lower” layers of the being, and therefore to the accumulation of uncompensated energy and the growth of the shadow. If the impulse of a need “fades,” this leads to one or another restriction of the “active” conduits, and consequently to a narrowing of the realization capacities of the mind. If, however, the impulse of a caprice or whim “dies out,” the energy spent generating it returns to its source, which can either strengthen the shadow (if the whim was the result of a distortion of desire) or weaken it (if the whim originated in the shadow itself). This is precisely why control of impulses arising in the desire body at the stage of their inception is so important: once an impulse has begun to actualize, its realization must be carried through to completion regardless of its constructive value or origins; otherwise the activated energy merely destroys the bodies and channels through which it passes. Thus, studying the desire body, its mechanism of operation and its transformative possibilities can be important for formulating effective development strategies, tracing the “roots” of impulses of desire, and for their control and regulation.

  1. Good day.

    Two questions:
    1) I have encountered descriptions (albeit in different terms, but similar) that if one tries to describe the body of desire – it almost always takes the form of an animal. ‘In the best case’, a well ‘loaded’ atavistic humanoid form. More often simply some animal. Is this so? Or was this a description of something else?

    2) What disciplines/practices/exercises are specifically aimed at developing this body? About the others, they write more often and more.

    • 1) The body of feelings has the form that the flow of desires has. Accordingly, if impulses directed at maintaining vitality and reproductive functions dominate in this flow, then the body of feelings will also have such a nature. Nevertheless, from a practical standpoint, it would be incorrect to identify the body of feelings with the “animal force” (https://en.enmerkar.com/magus-way/zhivotnye-i-sila). The “animal” layer of consciousness is a set of potentials that can manifest, or remain latent. The body of feelings is an expression of a specific realization tool. It can be said that the Animal level relates mostly to the area of possibilities, while the body of feelings relates to the area of actions (more precisely, the energetic foundations, the causes of these actions). 2) The development of the body of feelings occurs as the desires themselves, their flows, and motives become organized. Accordingly, by developing awareness of our desires, we also organize the corresponding conductor. Furthermore, the development of the body of feelings occurs from the side of perceptual flows – by developing our receptivity (including what is now commonly referred to as “astral vision”) – we also develop this conductor.

  2. Hello Enmerkar. In the article about artificial consciousness, you detailed the side effect of an unrealized impulse. A vortex that has clung, the so-called “larva”. Everyone once passionately desired something, and often it happened that not all decisions were weighed. As a result of the transcendence, previous passionate striving may lose its relevance. But let’s assume that the previous vortex remains alive and has gotten in the way. It is no longer necessary to realize it, and in fact, it is now absurd and harmful. But the vortex cannot be persuaded. Ultimately, we have a curse, fate. The question is, how to stop this? The first thing that comes to mind is recapitulation, you wrote that ritual death is also used. It feels like this process is even more challenging than memory cleansing, and it is unknown whether recapitulation will even help. Please tell me, what is the most effective method you know to annihilate the clinging vortex?

    • Hello!
First of all, nothing that has been created, actualized, can ever be definitively and without a trace destroyed. Even if what is created is destroyed, two additional imprints reshimot remain – from the very object or process that existed and from its deactualization (see https://en.enmerkar.com/magus-way/principy-zakony-i-otpechatki).
Secondly, if we take this fact into account and consider the further influence of reshimo, then to remove the influence of the most problematic vortex, three methods can be used: 1) creating an intention opposite to it in direction, equal in strength, to neutralize it; 2) destroying the vortex’s “body” using various methods, for example, “the trident of Paracelsus”; 3) disidentifying from it, exiting that state of one’s nature to which this vortex had affinity. In the case where the third method occurs evolutionarily, meaning the nature is not just changing but improving, developing, this method can be considered the most effective.

    • Hmm..
There is another interesting method, or rather two: to fully realize the obstructing vortex, and then it is quite possible the vortex will dissipate or change nature, and the second – to realize the vortex 🙂 but realize either as a joke or to utilize 1% of the realization power of the vortex, where it seems appropriate, the remaining 99% can be returned to oneself.

  3. The realisation at 1% is the basis of several modern esoteric and psychological techniques. In this case, I am neither an advocate nor an opponent of these techniques; I say they exist. This is the Magical theater and systemic constellations, for example, and some technique which originated from Scientology (I know what that is), in which it is suggested to isolate the problem in consciousness, personify it (describe it), address it, understand its purpose, and play it out in consciousness. Reality responds noisily to these techniques, without a doubt. But I will reiterate that I cannot unambiguously assess the results of such practices.

    • Perhaps some techniques are based on this…
Here the essence is that the vortex is given a gentle opportunity to materialize as it goes. It seems that consciousness is deceived. It is sort of both realization and at the same time non-realization. 🙂
      ——————-
And the theater essentially – is magic. It creates reality. There is actually no such “game of the actor”; rather, there are his actions, which usually consist of intense energy. The rest of the reality is simply “forced” to adjust since the energy is being radiated.
Essentially the theater is the same rituals. They only became cultured in the mass consciousness and began to be presented as “merely theater,” which made it seem like something ordinary and not serious, “playful.” In fact, there is great power in the theater. Even if it is an imaginary theater..

  4. Hello! Quote: ‘This is why controlling the impulses arising in the body of desires at the stage of their inception is so important, because once the impulse has begun to be realized, its realization must be brought to completion regardless of its degree of constructiveness and its sources; otherwise, the activated energy only destroys the bodies and the channels of its passage.’ How can one understand where this line is, where the impulse has already begun to be realized? On a banal example. I decided to make a nightstand. Has the realization already started with the plans of what the nightstand should be, or at the moment when I took the first board and began to process it? Thank you!

    • The realized impulse is fully depleted energy. So if you decided to make a nightstand, its creation will begin with an articulated thought, the desire to make it, and this impulse will not ‘discharge’ until the nightstand is fully ready.
