The Gloom of the Heavens
The attentive reader, trying to understand the Myth, may have noticed one interesting aspect.
We have said many times that, in this Myth, the essence of the world process is the transformation of the Life Force, whose source is Baphomet, into the Force of awareness which Baphomet devours.
We have also said that this state is not legitimate, and that Baphomet himself usurped the role of source and outlet of the Forces.
In other words, the Force of separation, necessary for the differentiated existence of being, has become the dominant basis of manifestation, determining the very course of processes within it.
But we have also mentioned that the Magi discovered a way to “pass through Baphomet,” which means he is not a “black hole.” The remaining question is — what is he like inside?
The primordial cosmos is symbolized by the Uroboros — the serpent biting its own tail — which, in a macrocosmic sense, describes the cyclicality of manifestation and the alternating existence of being sometimes in potential, sometimes in actual form.
Put differently, the Great Spirit, by externalizing its cognitive capacities as a multitude of Monads, and the sum of knowable elements as a multitude of energies, proceeds to manifestation — i.e., to the sequential pairing of knower and known.
To that end it generates a dividing force — Nahash — which holds manifestation in that differentiated state and is opposed to the natural striving of the universe’s elements toward union and a return to the original state of integral unity.
However, this force, as an active pole, soon loses balance, closes in on itself, and, drawing all opposing activity into its orbit, begins not merely to “maintain” differentiation but actively to obstruct any reunification.
Moreover, Nahash’s activity goes so far as to prevent the cycle’s natural completion, in which manifestation would end when the Life Force has been fully converted into awareness. Nahash achieves this by absorbing awareness, preventing its full actualization, converting it back within his depths into Life Force, and re-emitting it into the manifested world — thus condemning it to an endless, meaningless repetition. In this way the Uroboros becomes Baphomet — the Supreme Predator.
What has been said sheds light on some very important details of the Myth.
First, Baphomet consumes awareness only in order to prevent the plenitude of being — that is, to ensure its own eternal existence.
Second, within his depths an inverse transformation of forces occurs, which is precisely what locks being into sordid infinity.
Since Baphomet is not an independent entity but a mode of existence of the Great Flow of Force — the world’s “inside out” — he has many distinct manifestations, organs and cells that regulate his life.
On the microcosmic level such manifestations are parasites of the mind; externally, they are the collection of so-called “Demons of Death.”

The latter, unlike other groups called “demons” (this word is used for a great many entirely heterogeneous beings whose common feature is their weakening effect on manifested beings), have no personal stake in the outflow of Force and simply provide sustenance for Baphomet.
These are above all the Gallu — the “reapers” who “consume” the past; the Namtarra — the “ferrymen” who carry away souls; and the Anunnaki, who in fact perform the “inverse transformation” of Forces.
To some extent, the agents who set the Uroboros in motion — the Archons — may be counted among these manifestations; although they themselves are not predators, they actively participate in supplying the ever-hungry denizens of the Interworld with the active forms of energy produced by manifested beings.
Every world, every partzuf has an underworld, inhabited by the Demons of Death.
For the Magus it is crucial to understand the peculiarities of these demons, their drive toward the “inverse transformation,” and the fact that they cannot be bargained with or subdued — since all such actions are manifestations of awareness, the food source for their master, the Supreme Predator.
Many Magi have paid the price for trying to profit from dealings with the Demons of Death, losing even a trace of their awareness and passing into a state of the “second death” — the death of the soul.
Therefore, understanding the nature of the final stage of manifestation, the Magus must make every effort to develop a strategy that will make him “unpalatable” to Baphomet, to bring his mind to a state of pleromization in which its “division” becomes impossible; only in that outcome does the Magus have a chance to “pass through Baphomet’s horns” and attain creative freedom.

So is ‘I am because I am all’?
Pleasant and coherent, the images of the presented topic are harmoniously perceived. I understand it.
Question.
Did Baphomet usurp power on all levels (planetary, stellar, galactic) or only at the human level and below?
Is Baphomet identical to the gnostic Demiurge – Ialdabaoth – in this paradigm?
Not quite. Strictly speaking, Baphomet creates and produces nothing. He is the Source and the Abyss. If one were to draw a parallel, Ialdabaoth is the force that transformed the original Ouroboros into Baphomet, and this is the active component of Baphomet himself.
Hello, Enmerkar. As I read your writings, many questions arise – you answer some, some you do not. Perhaps it’s because their formulation diverges too much from the myth you expound, and by using the same names as you, I am actually trying to talk about something else. But still, I will state the questions that have arisen. 1. Based on the role of Baphomet described by you, as a distortion by Ialdabaoth of the initial flow of power, the assumption arises that this distortion is in the very basic code of this world – this world is fundamentally created with an error, as the Gnostics have claimed. 2. In hermeticism, Ialdabaoth, as the supreme archon, is often identified with the planet Saturn, called in astrology the great misfortune (whereas Mars is the little misfortune). From this, it follows that when operating with the concept of ‘universe’ – one does not mean the universe in general, as it is limitless – with billions of galaxies and trillions of stars, which is incomprehensible to human understanding, but specifically the universe, that macrocosmic vortex within which our world and the entire ensemble of other worlds, which the magical myth operates with, exist, and which, based on this, is limited to the Solar system, whose outer contour is Saturn (according to old ideas, when the recently discovered planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were still unknown). In this case, the exit to the pleroma must somehow be linked with the possibility of the individual vortex of consciousness leaving the Solar system, overcoming the barriers of archons, which in this case turn into planetary spheres when describing this exit from the perspective of the outer world, and not from the perspective of inner changes of consciousness where the planets are a set of dominant psychics. Although, undeniably, these things should somehow transition from one to another, as the Möbius strip flows into another. 3. Assuming such a disposition, all forces and gods that penetrate into this universe from beyond its limits – are beams of stars penetrating the solar system and various level derivatives from these beams. In other words, such beams are representatives of various pleromic forces that are attempting through their activities (at least some of them) to compensate for the initial error present in this world. A vivid example can be the sacrifice of Christ, in its Gnostic understanding, which incarnated in this world to partially correct the existing initial imbalance here. His crucifixion on the cross is his great sacrifice, which he made by incarnating here and giving a chance for those who believe in him to be free. After all, it was later that his name was used to construct yet another net for catching men, but as one song puts it – Christ himself is innocent. And his light, gathered in the cup by the forces of this world, surely still illuminates some hearts. Just as the light of some other stars shines in other hearts, making these hearts alien to this world.
Hello. 1. Yes, according to the Gnostic worldview, the world we observe is initially ‘spoiled’. However, this does not mean that the idea of Creation itself is ‘erroneous’. 2. In Hermetic Tradition, ‘planets’ do not refer to cosmic bodies, but to so-called ‘secondary causalities’ that are valid for the entirety of the manifested cosmos accessible to human consciousness. 3. From the perspective of Gnostic worldview, the sacrifice of Christ also holds universal, rather than historically bounded, significance, and occurs primarily in the space of aeons.
How does the hermetic tradition relate to the expansion of the septenary to a decad with the addition of Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and to the dodecad (+ Proserpina/Ceres and Chiron/Eris)? How do secondary causalities expand? Can we also talk about Uranus as the Higher Mercury, and Pluto as the Higher Mars in this context?
Yes, such attempts exist, and they are probably justified from an astrological point of view, as they allow to expand the spectrum of considered influences, but from the perspective of Magic, they are clearly excessive, as the septenary exhaustively describes the field of Secondary causes. If you are greatly confused by the correlation of Planets as principles with planets as celestial bodies – you can simply refuse such correlation, considering the Hebdomad on its own, without associations with planets.
So simple and so genius: Pleroma must start here. It must begin with one’s Psychocosmos, and not be sought in distant ‘astral travels’. As I understand it, is Pleromization what is called ‘cultivating Gan Eden’? (https://en.enmerkar.com/myth/labirint-minotavra) Is it one and the same?
And another question. If Pleroma is possible in life, is the reverse process also possible? When, due to aging or other circumstances, a person falls into senility, that is, loses a significant degree of awareness, does it mean that Baphomet began consuming him even in life?
Dear Maxim. The transition from life to non-life always has a certain time interval. Even in cases of acute blood loss on the battlefield, a soldier’s eyes will dim and lose meaning within a few minutes. In old age, a decrease in ‘awareness’ is simply a relatively smooth transition from reality to non-reality. However, the experience and potential itself remains, as under proper treatment, a patient may experience a brief bright interval with full reproduction of previously known knowledge (except in the case of Alzheimer’s disease and some others).
Dear Doctor. Your comment as a medical specialist is very valuable. Just yesterday I watched the presentations of neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor, who experienced a stroke in her left hemisphere and described her experiences transitioning dominance to the right hemisphere. This astonished me. The states were identical to many practices of enlightenment and exteriorization of consciousness. I have always felt that knowledge about the Brain is underestimated! We do not know what consciousness experiences or whether it experiences anything without the brain (since the brain decomposes after death…). Therefore, all the Myths ‘about passing through Baphomet’ may turn out to be just unsubstantiated fantasies, sorry. The magic of the 21st century cannot develop outside of knowledge about the Brain.
Dear Maxim. Yes, the practice of contemplation in Buddhism, along with stopping logical thinking, intensely develops the right hemisphere, which is responsible for IMAGE-BASED THINKING and disabling left-brained LOGIC. Therefore, the sensations during enlightenment are akin to those when transitioning to right hemisphere dominance. Whether they are identical is a big question because there are no objective criteria for comparison 🙂
It can definitely be said that removing logical patterns together with image-based perception of the world allows for making decisions that can be completely non-trivial and break standard stereotypes (ENLIGHTENMENT).
As for the Ouroboros transformed into Baphomet in Enmerkar’s Myth, it is mentioned in many myths, including Slavic (as a serpent separated from the realm of the manifest by an unbreakable boundary). Indirect evidence of the presence of such Power can be obtained through South American and Ancient Slavic practices of the Ancestral Path.
Places of power, like the Bald Mountain in Kyiv and the Serpent Mounds, were viewed in antiquity as projections onto the Earth of the place connecting the head and the Tail of the Ouroboros.
As for DIRECT EVIDENCE of the existence of the Ouroboros and its transformed counterpart – the Supreme Predator – Baphomet, the method of obtaining such is more than costly, and I sincerely wish for all of us not to have to receive such evidence for a long time 🙂
The main point is that Enmerkar’s Myth is highly effective for the development of a mage and the mage’s faith in their path. Therefore, despite the slight darkness of the Myth, it is worth utilizing it to the degree that it WORKS and fits you personally.
It seems that Nahash will only increase over time, and ‘some gloom of the Myth’ will become more comprehensible.
Yes, it is hard to disagree with that. The Myth of Enmerkar is astonishingly effective regardless of everything! How many times have I disagreed with something in theory, only to find through experience that it was indeed correct 🙂
And this is now a very significant problem for me, as now my own Myth consists of 50-60% of the Myth of Enmerkar, and thoughts about copyright constantly arise. Am I not infringing on his copyright, so to speak? But I recently read that the 21st century is referred to as the age of copyleft, where ideas are actively mixed and reprocessed. I hope that since Enmerkar shares his ideas in the public domain, he does not mind that they will be borrowed and combined with one’s own developments…
As for ‘the brain and consciousness’, there is indeed a fascinating phenomenon of ‘going in a rainbow body,’ when the brain transforms and ‘takes itself with it,’ or something like that happens. In general, this all needs to be studied…
I cannot finish reading your publications. Rereading opens a new perception of the depth of the reality of the World of people.
How did this Baphomet come to be, and why did this circle close, or was it always this way and was it meant to be?
Baphomet is the form of payment for breaking life. When you break life, you get Baphomet, and the more life you break, the bigger Baphomet becomes. Religion is an excellent example of systematic breaking; that is, religion systematically feeds Baphomet, and Baphomet feeds religion. It’s like asking a priest whether he should exist; if he exists, then it’s relevant.
“He was created by me on the seventh day, –
Said the Lord, –
All life’s destinations
Are wonderfully harmonized in him.
Deprived
Of consciousness – he is all digestion.
And humanity has long been included
In the intertwining of veins on the blood tree
Of his spine, and within it
Moves the great millstone of the heart.
Dull, sluggish
You see it.
Through a rusty river
Flows, the flickering light in enormous
Sensations.
And deeper – in the dark abysses
Gapes hunger with eternal longing.
To mystically summon love and thought
In these slow and malicious depths,
I will create beings similar to him,
And give them power to devour one another.”
Hello! Do you think there is some connection between Baphomet and the Horned God of Wicca?
Hello. I think it’s a very relative correspondence. On one hand, as a global force of movement – yes, they are connected. But on the other hand – as a World Predator – no.
