Reality and Energy

We have already discussed more than once that the mind, coming to know itself in contact with and by delving into being, createsreality” as the basis, support, and product of this cognition.

Namely, “reality” is a condition and a result of “successful” self-cognition: it arises as a result of the “fixation” of certain already realized interactions and is an support for further realizations.

In “physical” language, it is customary to define reality as a superposition of all possible states of a system, as long as this system is not observed. Once it is observed, the system “collapses” into one definite state. At the same time, reality can be defined only through interaction between various physical objects, and the “carriers” of such interactions are fields — distributions of parameters (for example, electrical, magnetic, gravitational interactions, etc.) in space and time, which create the fundamental “forces of nature” — strong, weak, electromagnetic, and gravitational interactions.

The main property of matter, the “fabric” of that “physical” world which we perceive as reality, is energy — a measure of quantity and intensity of interactions in it. It is well known that energy and mass are two forms of manifestation of one and the same physical essence. What we in “ordinary life” perceive as “real,” having mass, stable, and capable of interaction, is the result of the activity of the mind describing (or, as physicists say, “measuring”) the medium (“vacuum,” “Medium,” “Interval”), more precisely — the product of their mutual interaction. We have already mentioned that the transition from the superposition of reality to its manifestation in quantum mechanics is described by the process of measurement. It leads to the “collapse of the wave function,” which means that the system passes from the multiplicity of states into a definite state.

Therefore, to speak of the birth of reality and about the appearance of energy means simply to describe the same process in different words — the process which, in Traditional terms, is spoken of as the “cultivation of the garden” of being.

One may say that the appearance of reality is explained by the process of gaining information about the system. This may be a process of measurement, interaction with other systems, or simply the preservation (“imprinting”) of information about the system in the environment. In other words, we call “real” a state carrying informational significance where the manifestation of energy is possible. Informationally unstable states, in turn, fall under the concept of the “Interval,” in which, as we have mentioned, the generation of energy — the establishment of stable interactions — does not occur.

Put differently, while the mind is uncertain and unstable, it “dreams,” is in the Interworld and does not generate energy; acquiring definiteness and informational stability — mind “awakens,” “is awake,” and can produce energy.

Thus, although mind can exist in different states of varying degrees of stability and form, it acquires the ability to generate energy only upon acquiring informational stability, which is what we perceive as “reality.” From the point of view of physics, quantum states of systems can be used to transmit information, and this requires expending a certain amount of energy on creating and processing these states; that is, information can be considered a resource that can be transformed into energy, and vice versa.

Accordingly, Magic singles out beings capable of generating energy (that is, “informationally stable”), or so-called “Free” spirits, and beings not possessing this ability (that is, lacking this definiteness), and therefore dependent on someone else’s informational stability — so-called “Service” beings. To this division one should also add a group of Elementaries who, by formal criteria, are not service ones; however, likewise do not possess informational stability, and are therefore not capable of generating energy, and are dependent on the inhabitants of the worlds.

And so there arises a “field of producers” and a “field of consumers” of energy, which, in their current “fallen” state, are in tense interaction: “producers” generate definiteness and awareness, while “consumers” provoke them into dissipating energy. At the same time, consumers of energy are usually interested in increasing its production; therefore, the more complexly organized they are, the higher they are in the hierarchy, the more complex and intricate are the methods of “milking” producers that they employ.

For a magus striving for maximum freedom, it is very important to reduce one’s “resource value” for predators and parasites of all levels and natures, while at the same time preserving (or better — increasing) awareness, informational stability, and the energy generated. These aspirations seem mutually contradictory: the more energy (and information) mind generates, the more nutritious it appears, the more attractive it is to predators. And in order to accumulate energy and at the same time avoid becoming in the role of a “goose for foie gras,” tremendous skill, strong will, a sharp intellect, and considerable experience are required.

  1. Dear Enmerkar, you said that it requires enormous skill, strong will, sharp mind, and significant experience. Can you unpack that further on what to pay attention to and possibly practice?

  2. Hello! Based on your references to quantum field theory, the ontology of consciousness itself becomes more confusing in Western myth. After all, in quantum reasoning, explaining consciousness is easier as an emergent property of a hierarchical recursive system, where, conditionally, the observer – field interaction has evolved as a result of complex interactions between its individual components, a kind of phylogenesis of one phenomenon, but not something essentially different. At the same time, magical descriptions of the Great Spirit are more like a panpsychic phenomenon inherent in our reality from the beginning. But in the quantum emergent theory of consciousness, this is simply an extra entity, since it comes out that reality itself “boils” and evolves according to very simple laws, just as, at a higher level, the medium, say, of the first microorganisms almost instantly divided and specialized into predators and prey, so at much smaller scales, elementary particles are quantized by groups of properties, creating increasingly complex hierarchies and subsystems, where, over time, and aeons of self-complexity cycles, we appear as the most energetically acceptable form, locally reducing entropy. But where can we see the reflections of the Absolute? Simply in mathematics, logic, and physics as some kind of embedded code that we unravel? Where are the manifestations of upper worlds in lower worlds?

    • Thus, the Absolute is “taken out of brackets” of this description: It cannot be referred to as Existing (nor non-existing), It is not considered as “Independent” reality, since It is above the very concept of Reality. And the “lower worlds” are its dream; they contain no “reflections”; they are the “reflection” themselves. We do not consider some “separate” consciousness that is sitting somewhere in the empyreans and merely “manifests” in the lower realm; we speak of consciousness as a property of reality: https://enmerkar.com/en/way/localization-of-mind
