The Shift of the Mind

We have often discussed that the myth under discussion describes the universe as a process and field of self-knowledge of the Absolute Spirit. In this process, each of the aspects of this mind, each of its “individual viewpoints” — an “elementary subject” — a monad — forms a stream of attention, an individual stream of awareness, manifesting in a multitude of worlds and in a multitude of incarnate beings.
At the same time, since the task of any stream of awareness is to maximize experience, full contact with the environment and its reflection, each act of interaction is experienced by the mind over the entire possible spectrum of its probabilistic outcomes. This is how the magical notion of a “multiverse” arises, or rather — of an infinite spectrum of experiences that flow through each stream of consciousness.

In other words, each stream of mind perceives and experiences all possible scenarios of development of each situation, each interaction, each act of self-knowledge. It turns out that each situation is realized across all possible alternatives, which are separated from one another by a perceptual barrier, that is — each world has an infinite number of variations, differing from one another by the scenarios of development. It is incorrect to consider these variations “different worlds,” just as it is incorrect to consider different manifestations of the same stream of consciousness as different beings.
We are not talking about the fact that there exists an innumerable quantity of “similar” or even “identical” beings; we are talking about the fact that the same dreamer simultaneously experiences countless dreams, where his roles can be very similar or can be completely different. Since for each stream of mind it is important to play out all possible scenarios of development, in each of such scenarios its own personality is formed, its own guide, and the range of these personalities, united by a common individuality and a common stream of consciousness, is innumerable.

In exactly the same way, depending on how much the scenarios played out in these “variations” differ, depending on how many variables differ, such “subworlds” can be very similar or completely different.
However, despite the “non-intersection of parallel worlds,” such subworlds are still connected by a shared consciousness, which means changes in its manifestations are also possible — “intersections” and “crossroads” of personalities.

The situation when a personality, a bearer of consciousness from one event stream ends up in another, “parallel,” scenario is called a “shift” or “mind shift.”
Most often a mind shift occurs after stream instability — after sleep, trance, deep meditation, and the like. Every person experiences many such shifts in the course of their life; however, since in the overwhelming number of cases the substream of mind is transferred into an event stream very close to the previous one, no distress occurs. Everyone is familiar with a situation when certain memories contradict new experience — a person remembers for sure that yesterday they “did” or, on the contrary, “did not do” something, and the experience of the new day refutes this memory. Usually such a discrepancy is explained by “false memories,” and, probably, in a number of cases that is indeed so; however, some portion of “Mandela effects” is still connected precisely with mind shifts.

For example, if reality in one of the substreams develops in a way frightening for the substream of mind located there, while in another scenario there is a “braver” variation of this personality, then, with sufficient lability of the mind, a shift may occur, and the more adapted subpersonality is transferred into the more extreme scenario, while the more vulnerable one — into the safer one.
However, other situations are also possible, when the mind “attracts” “troubles” to itself, under the influence of karmic or other energetic streams, and, on the contrary, shifts from a more favorable position into a more traumatic scenario.

If a shift happens far enough, and the “new reality” is poorly recognized by this personality, a conflict arises that can lead to insanity and loss of adequacy.
At the same time, in the process of each shift there is a small “lag period,” a short time during which the personality “anchors” in a reality that is new to it, coming into correspondence with the new experience. Usually such a period of instability lasts only seconds, and within this interval a reverse shift is still possible, or further displacement into subsequent scenarios; after it expires, the mind settles into a new disposition, and a simple “cancellation” becomes impossible.

The possibility of a mind shift should be taken into account by Magi who practice consciousness transfer — exteriorization, scrying, as well as — deep contemplation, lucid dreaming and other similar states. Returning from such states of unstable mind to its “stationary” functioning, it is useful to conduct the same “reality test” as during the verification of the visions themselves. In the case of using Portal Magic, on the contrary, it is important to prevent a shift, since in this case the portal will close, and return will become impossible.
For “ordinary” people, a shift most often occurs unconsciously and does not lead to any unpleasant consequences (with the exception of unsettling “false memories”).

Hello! Can these shifts be seen as a kind of centripetal system, where the Pleroma, for consciousness, is a conditional “zero point”, a kind of true reality? And by accepting different divine forms, magically transforming through activations of higher matrices, consciousness seems to create a centripetal force and shifts closer to this center, and, engrossed in daily life, imposed dreams, some “viral” parasitic self-sustaining phenomena, roughly speaking Mara – activates centrifugal forces and moves away?
Hello.
The full realization, Pleroma, Enlightenment – is an absolute state, and it involves the entire ensemble of manifestations of consciousness, “dissolving” them in its Light.
Therefore, one way or another, each of the sub-flows, each variant of the manifestation of consciousness will sooner or later reach this state, it’s only a matter of whether a visible amount of time (that is – interactions) will be needed for this.
Hello!
Peter Ouspensky (Gurdjieff’s student) had the idea of eternal return – that you live your life over and over again, while each new life is practically no different from the old one, and you keep making the same mistakes. And even if you remember past incarnations, to change something in the current incarnation, serious work on studying and transforming your psyche is required. Rumor has it that this idea arose from the fact that he ‘remembered’ the future since childhood.
Do you think his interpretation is incorrect? Is there no eternal return, but he just saw the future from the line of probability he was following?
I understand that it is not entirely correct to ask for comments on ideas proposed by another teacher.
It just seemed to me that in your article, the same phenomenon is described that Ouspensky encountered. He just interpreted it completely differently.
Hello. Interpretations are not particularly important. Practical conclusions are what matter. Of course, we repeat the same mistakes until we learn to live through the situation completely, understanding it without omissions and silences. And it doesn’t matter much how we describe it – as parallel existences or as a chain of reincarnations in time. What is important, as Gurdjieff said, is to stop being a mechanism and become a creative and conscious being.
Hello Master! A couple of times I’ve approached the point of no return. Usually, this happens in a state of awakening in this reality. It’s amusing to hear the sounds of this world, such as the breath of the body or the sound of cars. It feels like energy is lacking. So my question is, how does the exchange of energies occur between personalities?
*Addition. One or two senses work in the native reality, while a greater number work in another.
Life energy belongs to the body, while awareness energy belongs to the given self. There is no exchange.
I most likely mentioned this story on this site, but I did not think to consider it in this light. After the death of my grandfather, life sharply went to hell. And at the peak <> I turned to the deceased for help (hence, the story is more related to the notion that the dead can help). And a miracle happened – I left a school of dark reality, returning to a bright one where people seemed to have amnesia about the negative events happening. And everything somehow suddenly improved. But after that, it felt as if I became two (a split of consciousness). For example, I am sitting in a chair enjoying this <> life, while inside me, hell continues and the sensation of that period remains, as if it didn’t go away. Later, the feeling even came that I was dead, and then came the sensory perception of death, ghosts, the necromantic realm, and so on. That I too am a ghost. I don’t know, on one hand, this is considered a stage of the spiritual path, while on the other – perhaps what happened was much more complicated and some part of me ended up through a shift in the necromantic realm, being connected to me?
In Castaneda’s interpretation, a ‘shift’ is the ‘displacement of the point of assemblage.’ Some who have shifted do not return to familiar reality voluntarily, and some cannot return. The ‘lag period’ is the stabilization period of the point of assemblage. But, let’s say, after returning, you are already ‘tainted’ by another stream and cannot return as the same person you were before the shift. The period of complete stabilization and fixation of the point of assemblage in familiar reality can be long and painful for the psyche, on the brink of madness. And, the main part of this process occurs at the level of the body, not the mind. I want to say that if the body (as the sensations of the shift, after all, it’s not the mind, but something in the body) reaches a state of animal fear, a block is formed that prevents further shifts. (of course, provided the shifts in a particular person are generally not caused by any psychotropic or other chemicals)
Greetings. What can I read or watch on the topic of how to specifically manage the shift, as well as how to prevent it? Not as part of the consequences of choice at a bifurcation point or part of rituals, but specifically targeted and specialized if there is such?
Thank you for pointing to the right article; I am still a bit lost in the new interface. I am concerned about the question of whether a collective consciousness pumped with unsafe information could break through the barrier of perception of reality as a whole? Even now, it is almost impossible to differentiate videos/audios created with AI from those filmed/recorded using technological devices.
Yes, the world is inevitably sliding into ‘virtuality of the second level,’ and, as I have also said before, humanity currently has only two prospects – to merge with machine forms and form some ‘hybrid,’ bio-machine civilization or to be pushed to the margins of evolution and become marginalized. However, there is still a glimmer of hope for salvation in the form of a return to a non-technogenic civilization, as it is represented on the planet Tellus.
