Not to Be a Demon

The sad reality of our world is that very often people become demons to each other. And this is not even about possession or embodied predators; it is about the darkening of human nature itself.
The Myth we are examining, as we’ve said, calls ‘demons’ not only qliphothic or elemental predators.
A Demon is any being that consumes another’s resources to the detriment of the victim’s consciousness.
This means that, for example, a lion that eats an antelope and merely hastens its renewal is not a demon, just as a forest or steppe fire that gives rise to new opportunities for development is not. Similarly, the Angel of Death, extracting the soul from a being in the process of disembodiment, or the devourers — Gallu, despite their terrifying nature, are not demonic, either.
At the same time, a schoolteacher who trains her pupils to “be like everyone else,” “not to stand out,” or a mother obsessed with the idea that the main concern is that the child be fed and clothed, regardless of what is in his soul (and whether that soul exists at all) — acts as a demonizing force.
From this point of view it is clear that the greatest good one being can do for another is to facilitate another’s mental development, and likewise the greatest evil is to hinder such development.
Of course, this often very delicate balance is undermined by many destructors.
The main question is: who decides what is beneficial and what is harmful for a given mind? The obvious answer, of course, is — it can only be decided by the mind itself. Yet it is also clear that a human mind under the Parasite’s control finds it extremely difficult to reach its roots and find the right answers. Therefore Magic (as well as many other schools and currents) insists on the need for an experienced mentor capable of discerning a traveler’s own inclinations and the external influences acting upon them.
At the same time, the Magus must understand well that freedom does not arise from unfreedom, and one cannot force a person to become strong.
By replacing the student’s will with the teacher’s, by forcing him to obey the teacher’s instructions, the mentor prevents the student’s mental growth, power, and freedom. The art of the magical teacher must consist in helping the student discover their inclinations and paths of development, to feel out and realize their Orlög.
At the same time, a teacher who notices corrupt motives in a pupil must react firmly and decisively, even if this causes pain to both himself and the pupil.
However, strictly speaking, any person who possesses a higher level of mind can and should be an example, mentor, or beacon for those who follow.
Accordingly, the most important problem for anyone walking even one step ahead of others is to understand what consequences their actions will have for those who follow, for those whose minds are less developed.
Serious destructors that lead one astray are pity and a false sense of care.
Therefore it is so important for the Magus to keep worlds separate.
The Magus cannot and must not acquiesce to the world’s darkness. Nevertheless, the best path to the world’s enlightenment is the enlightenment of one’s own mind.
How often situations arise in which people do one another a disservice, falling into the trap of pity and beginning to indulge another’s weaknesses and vices, thereby both pushing the weaker toward ruin and demonizing themselves. The danger of such developments is not trivial. Indeed, trying to soothe someone troubled by a bad deed, people often persuade him that the deed was “not so terrible,” that it “can be forgotten,” thereby feeding the shadow’s growth and the accumulation of debts.
But while the shadow can somehow still be fought, the demonization of a false helper presents a far greater problem. By pushing another being toward the abyss, the mind falls under the sway of chaotic forces, and the more of these ‘compassionate’ pushes it gives, the more firmly and reliably the darkness takes root in it.
Therefore the medical maxim ‘do no harm’ can rightly be considered the motto of any developing being. And the Magus, first and foremost, must understand clearly that, by entering energetic interaction with any being whose mind is at a lower level, he assumes responsibility for that being, and either helps its development and thus advances himself, or hinders development and thus demonizes himself. Consequently, the most important question a Magus must ask himself is — is one ready for this responsibility, or is it better to avoid interaction to avoid accidental harm so as not to, by chance, push another toward the abyss?

Enmerkar, how to understand when it is worth stopping reading your articles? And how to understand when to stop asking for your advice?
Some people deliberately try to evoke pity, just as actors try to pretend that they are very bad off. How should one respond impeccably to such behavior? Indulging this is not allowed, avoiding interaction in some cases is also impossible. If one does not meet expectations during such an actor’s game, it often causes a storm of discontent.
Nikolai, I believe that the answer to my question should be related to relating my personal state to one of the possible avatars of Enmerkar. Part of the answer to this question I found in the post https://en.enmerkar.com/myth/studenty-deti-i-nasledniki, but I am also interested in the author’s opinion. Unfortunately, I did not understand your answer.
Any contact is teaching.
The problem for people with souls is that they do not believe that some do not have one. They refuse to see the true predator in the human body opposite, who, using acting, manipulations (and the person sees and knows this), but fears ‘his displeasure’ and continues to play this game to their own detriment. It is worth posing the question – what is more important? Your freedom and mental health, or this manipulating predator? How to respond impeccably – not to react at all, to rid yourself of connection and cleanse your space, both internal and external from such predators. If you have a soul, listen to it, not to your mind – empathy will tell you who is in front of you. A person who sincerely asks for help or a ruthless vampire.
It is well known that pity takes away strength, makes one weaker. Perhaps that is why many people do not like being pitied and try to hide their weakness (suffering, resentment, fear, jealousy). On the other hand, small children often turn to their relatives asking ‘pity me!’ Usually, it suffices to hug, ruffle, or kiss them. But if one opens their mouth… and if one assumes the position of the offended… If I share my problems and people begin to pity me, I feel that my (for example) resentments are reinforced. The other person as if records my picture of the situation once again. That is, my understanding, which leads to resentment. As a result, I just want to cry and pity myself even more. It is entirely different if I am given a different assessment of the situation. I begin to contemplate whether it was worth behaving that way and reacting like that. And instead of ‘poor thing’, it turns into ‘foolish thing’.
Interestingly, besides the meaning ‘to sympathize’, the word ‘to pity’ has a meaning close to ‘to be greedy’.
Returning to the question of the plasticity of consciousness.
Not being a demon. That is, one can be a demon or not be a demon? Well, school teachers and moms definitely manage it. Can plasticity of consciousness be understood as it changes depending on the situation or desire, goal?
I really liked the picture with the colors. I believe (and I want to feel) that it is all like that.
I recalled a situation when a gun was aimed at me like that. Back then I defended myself with a mirror. It helped, although it was a dream;)
Philipp, I began to look at your question and this is what I saw, such a cartoon:
Another Mage sits in his tower, thinking. Suddenly he wants to write a post – he stands up, takes flasks and test tubes, mixes, pours some liquids. He pulls out a magical tube, dips it into the prepared substance, then brings it to the window and … blows into it. Wonderful bubbles appear from the tube. These are our comments. They shimmer with rainbows, big, small. They mesmerize the eyes. Some bubbles fly to the heavens, others fly to the ground. And some … interact. And then, Numen 😉 any contact is teaching. Puff!
“A demon is any being that consumes the resources of others to the detriment of the victim’s consciousness development.” From this perspective, can we say that an angel is any being that replenishes resources for the benefit of the consciousness development of another being?
An angel is any being that helps to support the evolutionary status of another being or system.
“…The main question is, who decides what is beneficial and what is harmful for this particular consciousness? The obvious answer, of course, is – only this consciousness itself can decide…” —– Truly the main question!)) Only this consciousness itself is unable to accept this decision…))) The consciousness itself has the desire to be, as well as the desire to preserve this existence, making it infinitely intense and diverse. But the consciousness itself cannot decide how to do this))) Only Awareness, which is attached to this Consciousness, can do this.
In other words, only Spirit, only this Neutral principle of the universe can decide with absolute clarity – what is beneficial and what is harmful for this consciousness.
Consciousness is fully capable, as it achieves crystal clarity through the increase of Awareness, allowing not only to decide but also to recognize what is beneficial and what is harmful, to distinguish the influence of parasites from immediate needs that contribute to its further development.
Ah, Lena, if it were so, everyone would be aware without failures, no one would waste time, no one would lose.
And pity comes in various forms and is quite appropriate for the development of certain beings.
Everything starts imperceptibly. Of course, a mother and a teacher will not literally become demons, but a Mag, having slipped in small matters, unknowingly or knowing it but ignoring the voice of conscience, turns toward the shadow, in my opinion. The higher one rises, the harder the ascent, and even a small stone can serve as a reason for a fall. Thank you for reminding me, Enmerkar.
1. “At the same time, a school teacher who tries to teach her students to ‘be like everyone else’, ‘not to stand out’, or a mother obsessed with the idea that the main thing is for the child to be well-fed and dressed” The current trend is to blame society and parents for one’s failures, and mothers receive many more reproaches.
2. An important skill of turning poisons into medicines is achieved through the struggle with various caliber demons, therefore, there is some benefit from them.
