Adequacy of Feelings

It is clear that a necessary condition for successfully overcoming any obstacle is, first and foremost, a clear awareness of the existence and magnitude of that obstacle. Most dead-ends on the path of mental development are precisely connected with denying the presence of such obstacles and, consequently, standing before them.

Since the primary field of the Magus’s activity is the vortical aspect of the World environment, a world ruled by the feeling and the Dionysian impulse, the most important factor determining the Magus’s effectiveness is the sincerity of his feelings.

At the same time, the task of understanding what a person actually feels — of sorting out one’s feelings and finding in them answers to the questions that arise — often proves to be a significant problem, since the “ever-watchful eye” of the Parasite of mind strives with all its might to sow confusion and pass off its own manifestations as the Magus’s feelings, in whose mind the Parasite has taken root.

This is precisely why the most important factor guiding a person’s behavior is fear. Moreover, this fear is usually hidden under various masks and justified by respectable pretexts. By treating something other than fear as the driving motive of their actions, a person loses the opportunity to overcome that fear and falls into the trap set by the Parasite of mind, becoming firmly entrenched in the victim role imposed on them.

On the Magical Way two kinds of “hidden” fears are most often encountered — fear of the body and fear of the spirit.

Since the very nature of the human manifestation is such that its awareness is the point of contact between the abstract possibilities of spirit and the concrete manifestations of matter, it is clear that, by depriving the mind of rooting in either of these domains, the Predator effectively disrupts that mind’s development and thus keeps it as an exploited source of life-energy activation.

Therefore, a necessary condition for harmonious development of the mind is for it to be simultaneously rooted in the realm of potentialities and in the field of actual energies — both in the “world of spirit” and in the “material” world.

At the same time, some Wayfarers, in their fear of the spirit, do everything they can to remain in the world of concrete manifestations, of “practices” and reliance on historical examples. A typical sign that such behavior is inspired by the Parasite is the extreme intolerance of many of these Wayfarers toward any flights of the spirit and manifestations of the transcendent within their world of strict rules. A common form of this same avoidance is the flight from love, which has become almost fashionable among “traditionalists” of a pagan bent.

Another group of Wayfarers, by contrast, flees with all their might from the “illusion” of matter into the realm of pure ideas, and is likewise intolerant of manifestations “mired in density and sin”, dwelling in a blissfully blinkered state of half-narcotic trance.

Any such manifestation of flight from power is invariably accompanied by a narrowing of vision, and by this sign one can easily and almost infallibly detect manifestations of the Parasite. As soon as the Magus notices any sign of megalomania in himself and portrays his Way as “the only true one”, he must make every effort to look deep within and understand whether this narrowing of his field of view is not dictated by the Predator’s activity.

Only by cultivating within himself sincerity of feeling, not fearing to stand face to face with his fears and limitations, and widening his outlook and tolerance, does the Magus enter that awakened state that is so necessary for his development.

The Magus must always be ready to accept something new — naturally, first subjecting that new thing to thorough analysis — and must not allow his veiled fears to dictate or restrict the way his mind develops.

  1. Here is the translation to English:

“So, what do you think, can the mind act as a parasite of consciousness?”

    • The mind is a pure element – free, but the human mind is largely under the control of the Parasite. In a certain sense, one could even say that the human mind is the mind of the Parasite. However, this situation is not final – it does not have to be this way and can be corrected, though, of course, it is quite difficult.

  2. “The other part of the Wanderers, on the contrary, is desperately fleeing from the ‘illusion’ of matter into the world of pure ideas, and has a similarly intolerant attitude towards the ‘entangled in dense and sinful’ manifestations,” – truly familiar! And indeed, the intolerance, aggression towards all ‘lost sheep’ (in a personal sense, of course :)) and the difficulties of dialogue with hardened conformists are known to everyone; I am 100% sure of that.
