Flow and Matrices

We have already said more than once that the goal and task of the Magus in the system of development we are considering is to actualize as fully as possible the stream of consciousness within him, its purification and aligning it with his own logos, which, ultimately, should make this flow fully independent of external influences, that is, self-sufficient and free.

And although the intrinsic nature of mind is pure Light, in any of its manifestations this Light is partially obscured, distorted, and not fully recognized.

At the same time, it is important to distinguish: 1) the original, “ideal” basis of the flow itself, 2) its actual state, and 3) the matrices that stabilize it. The first pertains to the timeless dimension — pure, unchanging, and absolute — and is expressed in the hierarchy of individual logoi; the second is the result of the flow of consciousness through successive incarnations, which leave their imprint on it; the third is the “raw material” from which the flow’s characteristics are formed.

Since any human manifestation of the flow of consciousness is stabilized by one or another matrix in which it resides, dwelling in these matrices becomes imprinted, shaping its current aspirations and drives (its Wyrd). Accordingly, the identification, maintenance, distortion, and correction of matrices accessible to the mind are the primary forms of its activity.

Here, too, it is important to distinguish: 1) matrices “imposed” on mind by society, predators, or its own delusions, 2) matrices “comfortable” for the actual state of the flow of mind, and 3) evolutionary matrices that facilitate the development and realization of this flow. And if non-essential matrices are often uncomfortable for the mind (even if this discomfort is masked by notions of one’s own or social “necessity”), then distinguishing matrices that fix the mind in place from those that move the flow forward is often difficult — which is what predators and parasites exploit, gradually inserting destructive elements into the fabric of the flow. In other words, one common strategy of predators is to first, imperceptibly, introduce dissipative structures into consciousness, and then to convince people of the need to “accept yourself as you are,” “love yourself with your shortcomings,” or even proclaim them signs of individuality.

“Stepping out of the comfort zone,” the transition of mind from “fixing” matrices to moving ones, can accompany both positive and negative changes in it. Indeed, any destabilization is perceived negatively and even as traumatic, and predators know this perfectly well; therefore, most often they covertly “slip in” destructive matrices, reducing the discomfort. Only when, under the influence of extreme factors, the transition into a destructive state happens abruptly does it cause discomfort and a natural desire to restore balance. At the same time, attempts at rapid “spiritual growth,” “self-improvement” often consist in the fact that, in the heat of enthusiasm, a person takes on something that is far from their “habitual” state, and therefore quickly tires and becomes disappointed.

This effect, of course, is also widely used by predators, and therefore very often attempts to actively transform destructive forces often merely indulge them. Indeed, in order to transform a destructive flow of energy into its constructive variant, it is first necessary to engage closely with that flow. And not infrequently, such an entry into the darkening flow, under the guise of “working it through,” only feeds the darkness, getting increasingly bogged down. This is precisely how “fighters against ego” turn out to be the most hardened egoists, “fighters against lust” — sexual abusers, and “fighters against anger” — malicious hypocrites.

It is precisely in training the state for development, to make the evolutionary path less traumatic, Traditional systems of “preparatory practices” are aimed — introducing the mind into constructive matrices gently and without strain. These practices perform two tasks: 1) purification, removing destructive manifestations from habitual algorithms of activity, and 2) accustoming the mind to the Light, shifting the mind from energy dissipation to efficient circulation.

Only when the mind is properly prepared to change its mode of functioning can it engage in the two main practices — Purification and Awakening — and move on to the activation and realization of ever more harmonious and higher matrices, gradually bringing its Wyrd into alignment with its Orlög, its actual nature with its ideal basis.

  1. Well, but why here and many people speak only of Light as if it is something independent? Is it not true that any light requires a source of burning plasma, fire? Shouldn’t fire and something like it be primary in relation to light, with light merely being its radiation?
