The Long Road Home
Every being is born into one of the worlds to fulfill its purpose, to know itself, to perfect itself, in conditions best suited to resolving the tasks that have arisen according to the overall logic of development and past deeds.
However, since during this process a Transformation of Powers occurs, in practice most beings make relatively little progress along the path of development over the course of their lives, primarily dissipating the energy consumed by various parasites.
In order to force the mind — born for perfection — into an ineffective existence, predators and parasites, from the very first moments of embodied being, begin to distract the being from its goals, to scatter and obscure its consciousness, substituting true values with their tainted counterparts — destructors.
Therefore, by the time of the being’s full embodiment — that is, its manifestation across all planes available to its level of development — the mind is usually already in a state far removed from its Orlög.
Accordingly, in order merely to begin development, the mind must first of all regain its original state — to return to the Tree of Life.
This moment often escapes notice, and the being attempts to begin moving from the point at which the need for movement becomes apparent to it.
But because the starting point is then set incorrectly, the movement itself proves disharmonious, and often ends in collapse.
Therefore overcoming the First Abyss, which we have spoken of more than once, in fact means the return of the mind to its original state that should have been inherent to it from the beginning, and marks the first opening of the vessel to receive Power.
All the efforts of the beginning Wayfarer should not be aimed at seeking effects, “techniques” or enlightenment, but first and foremost at finding oneself, one’s individuality, one’s vision of the world, and thus one’s own Way of development.
Only when the starting point is set correctly — that is, when one has found precisely one’s own Way of development — does the Magus’s journey itself begin, his real battles begin, his ascent to Power begin.
And it is precisely at this stage — before passing the First Abyss — that the most serious obstacles are usually encountered — not because the enemies are strong (usually at this stage no one yet greatly hinders the way), but because they lack self-confidence, they do not yet know themselves, and one has no appetite for progress.
And it is at this stage that help and support are most needed, as well as the readiness to accept it.
Although most disorders of the mind (and the reality of many worlds is such that the baseline condition of mind there is a grave illness) are not cured by conservative means and require direct intervention — rebirth, transformation, and therefore an experienced guide — this healing cannot be “coercive.” By carrying out another’s will one can never develop the mind; the growth of Power is the realization of one’s own desires, and therefore no Abduction can occur without the consent of the Initiate.
However, regardless of whether the Wayfarer returns home alone or is led by a guide, the road home is a mandatory stage of development. It must not be neglected under any circumstances.
Before thinking of wonders and worlds, one must consider who, in fact, will enter those wonders and worlds. A spoiled, lazy, pampered being, accustomed to being a victim and incapable of taking responsibility for its actions? And what will that being do with Power, even if it attains it? Dissipate it, squander it, and misuse it.
Only when there is a steady desire to be a Magus, rather than merely to practise Magic, does the Way stand a chance of leading beyond the Interworld, and of the being becoming more than an “advanced” elementalist.

Thank you for the article; very similar thoughts have visited me. It is difficult to assess oneself in general; yesterday one thing seemed right, today it does not, one leads to another in a chain. Was I “worse” yesterday than I am today if by feelings I am just more “drowsy”? And is there any meaning in such self-assessment if today I will almost always be above yesterday? And if today I am the highest I could comprehend, the sum of my knowledge, then I can only evaluate based on the results of my actions, which is an extremely dubious measure. I think it is something to feel (some warmth in the chest), seeking signs of confirmation from the World, not hoping that being right today will not turn into a mistake tomorrow, but to know, to become a personal god for oneself today. “The past is forgotten, the future is hidden, the present is granted” 🙂
THE CONSTANT PRESENCE OF MIRACLE. EACH OF YOUR ARTICLES IS JUST WHAT I NEED RIGHT NOW. IT’S RELEVANT TO ME AND EXACTLY AT THAT TIME WHEN I AM READY TO PERCEIVE IT. DO OTHERS HAVE SIMILAR THOUGHTS?… THANK YOU.
2Eiol: Once again, “Better”, “Worse” – Compared to what? There should be a reference point from which to measure. If you measure yourself, for example, against some socially accepted standard, like the template “A True Man” http://lurkmore.to/Настоящий_мужык, then this is a thankless task, as the standard is unhealthy. Indeed, one can only measure oneself in relation to oneself. But to measure oneself against oneself, one must first find oneself.
That’s the thing, I think one cannot find oneself; take, for example, the ‘finally enlightened’ of many currently popular currents (especially those from the East), phrases like: I became Love, I reached Tranquility, I understood Peace… And yet every week they throw out a new set, reach new heights, it’s a pity they don’t shine yet 🙂 Is it self-deception or not? Maybe tomorrow the vector of development and reference point will seem false to me too? I think you need to go by your own bearings, and Traditions are only guidelines and safety techniques on the Path, but not the Path itself; the response should be in the steps, for someone, templates like this may be useful 🙂
Thank you! As always, very relevant! And here is what I remembered… In many ancient traditions, there was a practice of finding one’s personal direction, which was a necessary initiation. In some branches of shamanism, this custom has persisted even now. Its essence is that any individuality manifests as a vector in the unified Circle, which passes through a certain direction in the world. Thus, a traveler with an eastern personal direction, for example, differs significantly from a northern traveler, and so on. This also resembles the knights of the Round Table, where everyone is equal, all together, and at the same time, each has their unique path, their Home. Because finding one’s place in the unified Circle is returning Home, as well as finding the way to the Tree of Life. In my opinion, this is a very healthy approach. I wanted to ask – what do you know about this and what is your attitude towards this tradition?
The road is indeed long. And you walk as if at night.
Yes, this cannot be understood; it needs to be felt once. It is a kind of inner calm, even if everything is raging outside and you are afraid. A certain core. You don’t want to fight and overcome all these obstacles, but there is what you are looking for behind them, and that draws you. The search.. A lonely search. A lonely wasteland where there are many people. But this is my vision, and perhaps it is incorrect. Better to ask a Magician what it is like when You are truly You.
Happy OSTARA to all! Today the whole world helps to feel your Path and yourself! Wishing everyone a bright journey! Thanks to the author of the resource for the Living Words!! 😉
As soon as I finished reading the words “Only when the reference point is set correctly, that is, when the right Path of development is found, does the magician’s journey begin, his real battles begin, his ascent to the Force begins.” Outside, a streetlight suddenly sparkled, one that has never sparkled before… The world agrees with me…:)
Can a person who possesses enough power to unconsciously and consciously introduce serious corrections to the reality and lives of others (for example) from an early age appear ordinary to everyone, if they do not attune themselves to the image they wish to create at that moment?
by higher consciousness I mean the existence of a monad
I really liked it. And it’s well-written that this kind of healing cannot be forced. Hardly a young age, full of ambition, where one listens more to others rather than oneself, contributes to understanding this. I think it is very important to be able to stop and ask oneself the main questions before looking for oneself. Otherwise, it will essentially be a search not for ‘oneself’ but for ideas of how ‘I’ should behave. Even the simple truth ‘I am’ can turn out to be very distant from understanding. But who thinks about this when the problem hasn’t even ‘appeared.’ Knowing does not equate to understanding or being able to do so. And this is in the context of a constant information war, where many enemies divert attention to themselves. In the end, time resolves everything, and there is no time for either the ‘doctor’ or the ‘patient.’
Recently, something unconscious has begun to manifest in me, but I understand that from a spiritual perspective, it is correct. You do what arises spontaneously. You go where you didn’t intend to go, just because you wanted to, and logically you cannot explain it, but you throw everything aside and fulfill this desire. The bonuses from this are just the feeling – a snap of “I did everything right” and joy from this, of course. There are no problems in this case. But the more spontaneous desires I manifest, the more problems I have with my desires (with what I simply wanted). All circumstances stand against me. Especially if it’s a meeting with people. Transport breaks down, technology glitches, I get lost, people say or write to me incorrect addresses, and then they blame me for not calling back, not asking again. It’s madness. Some strange obstacles. Or am I overlooking something? From where should I expect the enemy?
