Sources of Energy
Magic is the art of effective implementation, a mode of action in which a significant effect is achieved with relatively modest energy expenditure.
For this, Magic uses three principal approaches:
- Transformation – when existing energy is converted into another form better suited to accomplish another task;
- Support – when special “levers” are employed that allow one to achieve the desired result by using resources of the material world, by means of “coagulated” forms of energy;
- Attachment – when the desired outcome is “embedded” into an existing flow that shares similar characteristics and performs the task as a side effect of its primary activity.
Consider these approaches in greater detail.
Transformation is the most common approach to acquiring energy. As mentioned, the transformation of forces carried out by the mind comprises a number of stages: absorption, activation, actualization, through which undifferentiated Life Force is transformed into the actualized power of awareness. Strictly speaking, the true source and driver of the world-process is the tonic pneuma, the “red light” — the life force activated by initial contact with awareness. We have also discussed that this energy exists in three forms — Zhiva, Baraka and Hamingja — which can interconvert. At the same time, any of these kinds of energy can serve as the operative force. Nevertheless, it must be understood that they are all manifestations of the same “wellspring of Power” produced at the first stage — so their amount is determined by the “volume” of that wellspring, and adding one form of energy reduces the others (it is well known that many saints who possessed substantial Baraka suffered poor health, and that a short-term rise in Luck often led to fatal consequences). Accordingly, an effective approach to energy transformation must include the active mental work, because in that case the mind will more intensively carry out the absorption and activation of the pneuma, and thus allow its redistribution among forms.
The use of points of support is also a common approach, employed in most magical operations. In fact, the art of proper selection of such “levers” is the chief measure of the Magus’s authority. We have already discussed this approach and its dangers in some detail; here it should be noted only that the use of support points also requires understanding, inspiration, and a considerable amount of energy, since they only help direct and amplify an energy flow that must nevertheless be generated by the practitioner. Most amulets, talismans and other “objects of power” are such supports — “sickles” effecting a varying degree of amplification of an energy flow.
Attachment underlies a number of approaches in both Ceremonial and Contagious magic. At its core is the ability to find a suitable “transport channel” for the intended operation in the form of a “ministering spirit” or another vortical structure, a larva, etc. Accordingly, these approaches require: 1) locating such a flow; 2) linking additional activity to it; and 3) protecting oneself from a “backlash” in the event the vortex reflects off the target. Each of these stages, in turn, demands particular knowledge and skill.
To prevent the development of the Magus’s mind, occurring in the course of his magical practice, from leading to growing energy debts or to the too-rapid exhaustion of vital resources, it is necessary to be perfectly clear about the mechanism of each operation, where it draws energy from, how the transformation and amplification of that energy occurs, and what consequences it brings for the practitioner and the world. Unfortunately, it is precisely insufficient attention to this understanding that leads to the sad consequences many practitioners suffer.

I wonder what a mage can desire.
Awareness, development, freedom, love.
From this – freedom and love are qualities of the being itself, and merely channeling life force into something does not achieve this. It involves maintaining health, necessary safety (so that energies to which one is not ready do not destroy the vessel), recovering from falls, paying and resolving karmic situations. Assistance in achieving that quality of consciousness where creativity is possible. The possibility of realizing unity. All of this involves seconds of realization of the Great Spirit, which in my understanding, accumulates just like the experience of Samadhi in Eastern practices. If something has been created, or someone has been loved, then that cannot be erased from the being, and it accumulates. What else can life force be spent on? What could a mage desire to connect his realization to a leech?
Please do not take this as criticism. For the most part, I quite understand the structure of the myth you described, but there is one moment I have not been able to understand for quite a long time (not to disagree or agree): you rather categorically criticize predation as such. If I understand correctly, you link it with the fall of the tree, initial corruption, and similar concepts.
At the same time, predation in nature is widespread, and it is harder to invent an organism that does not take from others than the other way around. The question is: are natural predators also a consequence of initial “wrongness,” or do you see this as fundamentally different from human predation?
If the second, then what is the fundamental distinction between 1) a wolf eating a cow, 2) a human eating a cow, and 3) a human somehow consuming the life force of a cow?
Thank you.
Criticism is a very useful tool for understanding when it is constructive and does not devolve into baseless accusations) So thank you for your questions.
I have discussed the nature and dangers of predation on this blog multiple times (https://en.enmerkar.com/magus-way/garmonichnoe-sosushhestvovanie-xishhnikov, https://en.enmerkar.com/magus-way/xishhniki-psixokosmosa, https://enmerkar.com/en/myth/the-supreme-predator and others).
Indeed, the world as it exists now is built on mutual consumption and the constant circulation of resources. Therefore, when speaking of predation as such, it is merely stated as a fact, as a condition in which the world exists.
However, this state of affairs is indeed not the only possible one, since any creature in its “ideal” form is capable of generating unlimited amounts of energy, yet due to the world’s structural peculiarities, which tradition calls “The Fall” (https://en.enmerkar.com/myth/mrak-nebes), this possibility is not open in reality. There is no “condemnation” or other moral evaluations in such a statement; it is merely a reminder of the disposition of powers.
Regarding your questions:
1) Yes, “biological” predation is also a consequence of the limitation of resources, which in itself is not the only possible state.
2) The consumption of life force, as such, indeed does not differ greatly from species to species and from method to method. However, a wolf, for example, does not farm cows, does not force them to suffer throughout their lives, but only kills in the amount necessary for its survival. And although, let me repeat, this disposition is natural but not ideal, it involves much less consumption than the exploitation of animals by humans.
In addition, as I have stated many times, from the perspective of the Myth I am examining, it is not any consumption of life force that is dangerous, but only that which hinders the evolution of the living being. In the case of the wolf – it is often the case that the wolf kills sick or weak animals, thus hastening their consciousness’ advancement along the evolutionary chain. When a demon, however, keeps a person in a state of victimhood, it does not merely consume their energy, nor simply use them as a resource; it hinders their development, suppressing the possibilities of their consciousness. And it is precisely the latter variant that constitutes, strictly speaking, predation in a negatively shaded connotation (https://en.enmerkar.com/magus-way/ne-byt-demonom).
In this sense, predation is dangerous – both for the “victim,” whose consciousness is stalled in its development, and (to an even greater extent) for the predator, who, becoming accustomed to consumption, ceases to generate their own energy (as they say, “falls out of the Great Flow of Forces”), thus becoming dependent on external resources and becoming an obligatory consumer, and thereby losing abilities for development (https://en.enmerkar.com/drugoe/priroda-oderzhimosti).
Let me share a short story.
When I first created my world, I had to think through the existence of the animals inhabiting it. Out of goodwill, I prohibited them from eating each other, while their death was to occur only from old age, as well as due to other ideas I introduced.
What horror it was when, after some time, I visited my world and found the forests and seas filled with corpses.
(It’s a good thing they did not touch the people living there) 🙂
I had to urgently change ideas and consider the generation of energy.
I learned a good lesson consisting of understanding the undervaluation of predation leading to the circulation of energy in the world and the importance of understanding interconnections.
Hello to those who create worlds.
And why did they die?
Hello.
They died due to the specific ideas aimed at shaping the direction of the forces of life/death.
Please tell me, Numen, what are the “other introduced ideas”?
Yes, please Name.
Although when creating the world, its info is built on the basis of the matrix understanding and the development of the ideas of the Creator reflected in us, you, as the Creator of your world, can make changes at any moment in time, not just during creation.
Ideas, as you probably know, consist of angelic-demonic forces contained in a specific energetic structure.
I certainly will not enumerate my specific ideas, as I consider it incorrect, for the reason that I view it as a strictly individual approach of each consciousness.
As they say: every magician has his own style 🙂
Sorry, I didn’t finish writing: …you can make modifications to it at any point in time.
Your experience is similar to the “Universe 25” experiment.)
The fundamental difference between a wolf eating a cow and a human eating a cow is that for the wolf, THERE IS NO choice of whether to kill or not. The wolf kills out of necessity for continued life, driven by the survival instinct instilled in it by the Creator.
For humans, however, the Choice – to kill or not to kill a cow – is always presented. And a human’s Choice is dictated not by the instinct of survival, but by the Environment in which they grew up and the culture they inherited from society.
Not discussing whether I agree with you or not.
“And a person’s choices are not conditioned by the survival instinct, but by the environment in which they grew up and the culture they inherited from society.”
If you take a wolf, raise it like a dog, and carefully educate it, there is a high probability that it will not kill anyone. And if you were to establish such a population of wolves (providing them with some food, say from feeders), then after a couple of generations, you would have a fairly stable group of wolves that would not show much interest in hunting and would mostly just quietly and peacefully chew on the feed. There may be occasional outbursts, but people also experience outbursts that are atypical for their society.
I see no fundamental difference. The global distinction is only that human society is diverse, whereas wolf society is not.
The wolf is not a dog. You may have noticed—wolves in the circus never perform. They cannot be trained. Lions, tigers, bears—they can be trained, but wolves cannot. There’s a saying: no matter how much you feed a wolf, it will always look to the forest. (This resonates with me because the wolf is my totem)… and dogs too… they are also predators, no matter how you look at it))) For example, I had a dog. I fed her well. With meat. Even more than necessary. Any leftover food she buried for a “rainy day”))… that creature loved me with genuine dog love, but her passion for killing was stronger. From time to time, when things became unbearable)) the dog would pull off her collar with her paws and run to the neighbor’s chicken coop or my own. She would steal and eat a chicken. And then she would come back, sit quietly by the door, and wait for me to put the collar back on her and chain her up)))—and I didn’t punish her, because it was pointless. An animal is an animal. That’s its nature… Although, of course, not every pet dog behaves like this.
…Well, let’s say we have domesticated wolves and they peacefully sit by feeders waiting for food. And what will we put there—in the feeders? Meat, of course. A wolf is not a herbivore. Its intestines are not adapted to digesting plant food. In other words, a wolf still consumes the bodies of dead animals; it just doesn’t kill them—it’s us who do that for them.
Humans, on the other hand, are omnivorous. A person can choose not to eat the bodies of dead animals and continue living without that. For example, if a child grows up in a family of vegans, they will not eat meat… and even if they suddenly want to, they won’t be able to—because their intestines haven’t developed the microbiota capable of digesting the bodies of dead animals.
However, in my opinion, it is wrong and foolish to force a person not to eat meat—this is a matter of personal choice.
“Dust”
A log has grown root-deep,
In the chemical composition of the earth/layers.
And took on a look, adapting to the words,
Which made the world of creation –
In endless paths it spun.
And the eternal power of fire
Melted the ice for existence,
Giving a life push
For manifestation from dreams,
Playing with thousands of worlds,
Making adjustments again and again.
And dust flies here and there
Wise ideas – polluting,
It eternally lies on the floor
And clogs purity.
Of no interest to anyone –
It is priceless – always, for everything,
It is not sold for games.
With the permission of the author and the guests of his blog, I will allow myself some “thoughts aloud,” not claiming anything … 🙂
“… In order for the development of a magician’s consciousness, occurring in the course of his realizational activity, not to lead to an increase in energy debts and not to be accompanied by too rapid depletion of life resources, it is necessary to clearly be aware of the specific mechanism of each realization carried out, where it draws its energy from, how the transformation and enhancement of this energy occurs and what consequences it carries for the operator and the world. Unfortunately, insufficient attention to the necessity of this understanding leads to sad consequences that many practices reap.”
In my opinion, this concluding thought of the author is quite enough to conclude that:
1). The energy used by the subject of evolution in the process of his development can be conditionally divided into that which goes for the survival of the personal triad form used, learning, and creativity (the practical part of learning).
2). The energy obtained by the subject of evolution during voluntary or forced energy exchange with other participants of the evolutionary process.
3). The energy obtained by the subject of evolution from the planetary bank of free energy and through the channel of his Higher Self (Ego or Soul).
The legitimacy of obtaining one or another type of energy by the subject of evolution is established by the Lords of Karma, in full accordance with the level of consciousness (development) they have reached. If the subject of evolution consciously or unconsciously violates the Law of Economy, governing the energy flows of the corresponding reality, the Lords of Karma, through their personnel representatives – the lipiks, determine all its causes and, accordingly, the severity of the crime, after which conclusions are drawn and appropriate karmic responsibility is assigned. If the Lords of Karma allow any inaccuracy in this, they also bear karmic responsibility for it.
Conclusion:
1). In order to have good health, live long and productively (in an evolutionarily-creative sense) – one must live according to the Law.
2). To live according to the Law – one must “learn,” “learn” and, once again, “learn,” knowing oneself and our surrounding reality and the laws governing it, continually remembering that ignorance of them does not free either the “saint,” or the “sinner,” or the “stupid layman,” or the “wise magician” from responsibility.
3). Given all of the above, a true, experienced magician of the “light face,” understanding that he is part of a hierarchical group, seeks to “not make sharp movements” and not to “act arbitrarily,” rather, before taking any action, to learn the intent of the higher leadership and only then act with maximum caution, using his knowledge and abilities, primarily and as a rule, regarding himself.
Thank you for the attention and patience of those who read this remark of mine. 🙂
Enmerkar, please tell me, can Time itself be a source of energy? This is when particular time intervals are selected that facilitate a certain realization. Is this Transformation, Support, or Attachment? Thank you!
Not directly a ‘source,’ but it can be: https://enmerkar.com/en/way/time-of-power
Investigating the topic of “sources of energy,” it becomes clear that the fundamental problem is not in the deficiency of the sources of energy themselves (although locating them is a very important point), but in the subsequent assimilation of this energy for one’s realizations.
Here is an energy source, here is an artifact created for some magical realization, but how to connect them? How to extract energy from the source and attach it to its transformer?
If the energy transformer is created correctly, that is – it is aligned with the energy source on the same axis of analogy, then the source and the transformer exist as a whole. All that is needed is the activation of the object, for which there are many methods known – various Blessing rituals, opening the mouths, and so on.
