Just Recompense
The idea of “karma” is common to most systems and schools that describe the world.
As mentioned, the Magical myth typically describes the course of causes and effects from the perspective of the Ways of restoring the equilibrium of the cosmos.
Magic denies, absolutely, the existence of a “judge,” acknowledging that all beings participating in the allocation of the cosmos’ resources are “technical executors” of laws that originate in the interdependence of entities.
Considering the World Flow as a system in dynamic equilibrium, we can easily understand that, like any system in motion, this Flow seeks to reduce residual imbalance, and every disturbance that arises within it generates an opposing reaction striving to restore full equilibrium. It is the sum of all uncompensated tendencies, produced by all participants in this Flow, that sets it in motion, and the meaning and aim of this movement is a return to stillness.
The concepts of Monads, the Great Spirit, the soul, and the body are introduced to facilitate the description of the essence of this process, which can be adequately defined and viewed as a self-moving flow without beginning or end. In other words, one cannot speak of the Monad or the Great Spirit as something that exists in actuality; by these words, the Myth names only the Causes that lie beyond actual reality. In truth, it matters little whether we regard some absolute factors as the cause of the World Flow’s movement or find the causes within the Flow itself — the phenomenology of the Flow remains unchanged.
Therefore, one may describe the causal links that drive the movement of the Flow of gilgul either from the standpoint of “external intervention” or “internal lawfulness.” The latter approach implies greater self-reliance, greater responsibility, and hence greater effectiveness in development.
If we view the Flow as causal relations, we can readily see that any imperfect action has a kind of “energetic surplus.” Indeed, it is very rare that a purposeful, intentional act yields exactly, in every detail and nuance, the result that was intended. Almost always something is altered, something is left unfinished, and something requires greater expenditure than planned. This, in turn, means that the initial impulse that served as the trigger for realization usually does not find full expression in the outcome; some uncompensated energy remains, throwing the system out of equilibrium. Large energy surpluses accumulate, forming the shadow of the event, action, or realization. Any unrealized or under-realized desire, any imperfect action, any deviation from intention leads to a dissonance between intended and actual outcomes: potential energy does not fully convert into actual outcomes, and an “echo,” a “residual impulse,” arises, seeking compensation and realization, thus returning to equilibrium. We may consider this surplus of energy from the standpoint of the world environment, from the perspective of “physical laws,” or even as an intrapsychic process — the essence does not change. Any “non-optimal” deed leads to consequences. Every time we intend something, we launch two processes: the process of realization itself and the “shadowed consequences” of that realization. The “shadow” in this case is not necessarily something “negative”; it can be “beneficial” if the “energy surplus” stemming from the realization contributes to development. For example, if an action brings an overall gain in energy to a larger or smaller system, if it helps increase the efficiency of someone’s or something’s existence, the “echo” of that action will be evolutionary, contributing to the “reduction of the weight of the soul.” Conversely, any action that reduces the efficiency of the World Flow in any of its manifestations leads to increased resistance and to the ” burdening” of existence.

Whatever we do, any purposeful “imperfect” action disturbs the equilibrium of the Flow. Moreover, the more integral the impulse, the more single-minded the intention, the fewer “additional” impulses it creates, and the more “karmically neutral” it is.
Thus the phrase “we are where our actions have brought us” has a perfectly obvious and literal meaning. We truly create our own fate; we forge our own Wyrd, setting in motion by each of our actions far-reaching programs that have all manner of, not always easily discernible, results. It is not someone else who builds our destiny; it is not someone else who determines our rebirths — we ourselves create the vortices and attractions that affect the cosmos, including ourselves. And the mechanism of this determination is extraordinarily simple: nature strives for equilibrium.
Thus, since it is clear that virtually every action, beyond its obvious results, gives rise to additional impulses and tendencies, several modes of action arise that take this understanding into account.
The simplest conclusion is “piety” — the aspiration to generate the greatest possible number of “beneficial” impulses, directing one’s development toward the reduction of suffering and the increase of well-being. In each case, every being may independently seek to determine the way and content of raising its level: for some, this is a healthy and prosperous life, for others the development of mind or securing a better rebirth in the future.
Two other conclusions are more far-reaching. On the one hand, complete equilibrium and the absence of movement may appear desirable — the stillness of nirvana, the “pure mind of clear light.” On the other hand, it may be possible to direct all impulses into a single stream that serves the harmonization of the world to the greatest extent. Thus two Ways arise — the Way of “personal realization” (in the East called the way of the pratyekabuddha) and the Way of universal harmony (again, in Eastern terminology — the Way of the bodhisattva). The impulse toward increasing “general” harmony is also expressed in the concept of the pleroma — a collective effort toward universal development, produced by highly realized beings.
Since the Magus’s Way is, in any case, the Way of harmony, he seeks to construct his realizations so that they minimally disrupt the flows of energy. The Magus’s art is, above all, the selection of the right causes that lead to the right consequences. It is very important to understand the full spectrum of consequences that flow from any intention or action. Without this, he only becomes further entangled in the cycle of gilgul, drawn into ever new causal streams — both descending and ascending — and for every rise, an inevitable fall will follow, just as every fall will be followed by a rise. If the Magus does not learn to harmonize all impulses, he has no chance of escaping this endless cycle.

The entire map of life in one article! Thank you.
I want to say right away that I am neither for nor against and I do not need supporters or opponents; the goal of my statement is to continue the flow. Which will happen regardless of the comments and does not directly depend on people. I perceive this blog as a kind of power place and try to treat it accordingly; if I have taken something from here, finding something worthy, it is worth bringing it back. Then, just like in any power place, in my opinion, it is worth coming here with a question. But not to people, although you get an answer from everything. That’s a little lyrical digression) I’m just considering questions of karma. Because in my case, I cannot pretend they are not there, nor can I pretend that they can be erased like a personal story, given to fire, or as I observed, various versions of leaving the family line. For the simple reason – it does not work. And if something exists, it is better for me to be aware of it than to not be. Regarding retribution and the informational reason I came to think about, I encountered the assertion that active interaction, including compassion, works like a queue in a hospital, where people exchange diseases. They add theirs to their own. From the perspective of the blog, this intersects with understanding one’s path. But I have not encountered this in such detail and clarity before. So, I wish to see)
One should approach desires with great caution, especially those that arise at night. To imagine oneself as the savior of all beings and to take on all the negativity of the lineage and perish is not too hard. It is hard not to become a pointless victim and survive after that.
“Active interaction, including compassion, works like a queue in a hospital, where people exchange diseases.”
I interpret the following from this statement: active interaction, including compassion, means – people exchange. The peculiarity of a person is that they can choose what to take and what to give. And even upon “receiving”, they have the choice of what to do with it.
As far as I know reality, and people from whom one can learn directly, like those who have already gone through this stage – the consequence of passing it is understanding the question and true goodwill. A person remembers perfectly how they puzzled over this themselves. And they can see both the question and the situation from above as if and it evokes nothing but compassion in them. Moreover, they certainly do not express opinions for or against, nor give advice from a “virtual mountain”. Usually, those who really know are distinguished by understanding the process and the person themselves. Their stages of spiritual development and which question they are solving now, despite the decorations. All humanity’s questions basically fit on one A4 sheet; they just take different forms. In this case, there was no talk of saving the lineage. Just as I had no question about whether I am a person or not. You can try to imagine what the result of the above statements would be if I decided to relate to them – a race to prove that I am a person) or a fuss trying to explain what I meant. However, I genuinely want to clarify the question of karma for myself. Exactly as stated in the message. Not to just throw myself anywhere and join anything.
When it is unclear what is being referred to, it is easy to call it “to imagine oneself as the savior of the entire lineage”, rather than “to realize the tasks of the lineage, taking responsibility for one’s place in the lineage”. Maria, your request remains unclear. What do you mean by “puzzled by the question of karma”, “clarifying the question of karma for myself”?
The word “erasing” the personal story confuses me. Is it about erasing from memory everything that has made you who you are? And so to speak, starting from a clean slate… No. It’s more about untangling the threads, connections, which from parents, other close and distant ones remain and hold us, restricting us. It’s like gnawing through a silkworm cocoon and getting out of it. Each such breaking of a thread is the realization of a certain event in your life, in the life of your lineage, its meaning for you. Realized, dry residue in the piggy bank of experience, the rest – into waste. In my opinion, this is related to working through karma issues.
I completely agree with this. Yes, I think logically the same. How this is reflected in your technique – is unclear to me. Additionally, it is indeed logical, and everyone knows this, but it is hard to see people resolving karma issues or at least seriously knowing about them. In my world, despite any psychological tricks – revisits, releases, setups, and other holotropes, everything was solved only through reverse living. Even if symbolic in form, it seems to me – quite the same in energy. The techniques helped me shift the process, but everything else happened only in reality afterward. This is the question that interested me – maybe there is some other effective approach…
This is a somewhat detached example, although similar situations have affected me, or else I wouldn’t know. I have seen many people with a clear charge – darkness all around, extensive evidence base of facts, and nothing can be done, these events genuinely happen to them, and with an explosion they run: either as defenders of light, or into personal protection, or to become like those whom consciousness classifies as darkness… At the same time, for instance, such people, in personal communication, themselves reveal turns on the topic of sex. This is neither good nor bad, it is a fact. In personal communication, I have a slightly lowered criticality, and I never utilize such knowledge; thus, I usually know everything about a person. They were born with such a gift and such an imprint. And they suffer. And it seems there is almost nowhere to escape. Knowing, for instance, my pattern, I understand that my traits stem from the virtues in the Christian sense, quite genuinely, with all the attachments, of some ancestors. At some point, excess potential was created and it is within me, and I need to avoid throwing myself around. Not overthinking, but in a situation where you’re face-to-face with a girlfriend you’ve known for a century, who wants to engage in “love”) and a friend with whom I subsequently discuss this situation as an illustration of karma – digs into details, gets mired and plows through, saying she wanted warmth from you. As if to say, what warmth, she wanted it in the form she deemed necessary. And giving it – again adheres to the same Christian turn, very much resembling a sacrifice. And to condemn – is exactly the same turn. Samsara) So I dig deep. For me, this is a very big, heavy, and moment-to-moment work. Releasing myself. And it can be, for example, translated inward and it won’t reflect so much in people, but it will manifest as illnesses… And every inch of freedom, every new situation that I look at calmly and realize – is a celebration for me)
In my opinion, that is the function of different techniques – to symbolically relive some event – to articulate, to review, to breathe through, to feel it. In order to find a more acceptable solution. So that not in the next life, but right now to work through that task. Whether the new has been integrated into oneself – life will check.
And there must surely be a more effective approach. But one must grow to it. )) I am making this up now – for it, one needs to grow a special organ. )) It’s like with blind kittens – there is a world of pictures, they just don’t see it. The moment with the Student surprised me precisely for this reason. Here is a person, he has a question. He is thrashing about in a sea of answers, but cannot lean on any. Why? Perhaps because they are not from his life.
Any worldview is well tested by being pushed to the extreme. Which, in my opinion, life does. Many understandings, as they say in this blog, for example, start with the awareness of the inevitability of death. Complete and final. And in this text, there is a clear belief in reincarnation and a presumption of certain reliable and working methodologies, in the people’s indulgences. Which later finds its reflection in the opinion that a person is flailing. And I, possessing higher knowledge, can tell him, do not flail. Logically, this worldview resembles Christianity the most. This does not correspond to the opinion of the blog’s author, to whom the question was directed. In my view, it is a logical attempt to find out how he personally relates to this issue. Your answer is that of a person from another coordinate system. Who remains silent about it, and something is only visible after a long dialogue.
The meaning of the Student’s statement for me – I vividly saw myself with my one desire, flailing in an ocean of possibilities, here’s the answer – just reach out your hand. But to paddle, you need strength; to receive an answer, actions are required. How my answer reflects on the Student – whether it is “don’t flail” or “swim!” is clear only to the Student. The meaning of my answer to the Student for you – is clear to you. Everyone speaks for themselves.
By the way, in this interaction of ours, have you not added my illnesses to yourself? 😉
Everything is quite simple again. Where’s the Student? Do you really think he heeded your advice and left in gratitude? Where are the others who just asked a question, wanting to know, and on whom you joyfully pounce with your advice, telling them what you did with them, and where is the flow of awareness? And not a flow of self-assertion. Seriously, if you had helped them, you would have known it.
You ask interesting questions – thank you, Maria.
Why do I react to the Student, Maria, and not to L’autre? Because within me there are parts that can be called the Student, Maria, but there is no part named L’autre. The answer to the Student is an answer to the Student within me. I support him. The responses to Maria are answers for Maria within me. I do not quite understand her. And I have questions for her:
1. What is on the other side of tediousness? Delving into the truth? I listen to this word. It sounds like: for need, for what is needed, necessary. How is this related to karma?
2. Self-assertion – what do you mean by this word? The striving for development, self-realization? The desire to achieve success in some area? To become stronger? To have assertions of one’s own? To make assertions about oneself? It cannot be that: in the sense of becoming more important while belittling others, for you do track “bad-good.” Although, if you track “always-never,” then sometimes that may happen. Rushing with advice or giving diagnoses, referring to different techniques and methodologies. And how is this related to karma?
3. If “to get the continuation of the flow,” “to clarify the question of karma” was the desire, then this uncovering of me and this fuss trying to clarify what I wanted to say – is this the shadow of that desire? I’m curious, how is this related to karma?
4. And echoing: where is the flow of awareness?
And if we met in reality, I would sniff you for a long time and watch from a decent distance, assessing the danger; maybe I would approach, maybe I would overcome my fear and hug you, spin you around for tea with raspberry jam and definitely without talks – often just being nearby is better than any chatter, or maybe I would just walk past.
The readers’ comments are a reflection of the theme in another consciousness. And in the conditions of the information flood in which we live – a lifeboat is taking the information as someone’s opinion, someone’s version. And all worldview texts are like working hypotheses, in my world they may work, they may not work. Until the laws of karma are activated, pleasant and annoying coincidences worked.
Everything that Enmerkar writes and the blog visitors, including you and me – is the opinion of each individual person. There are certain ideas or developments, opinions – they can be thought through, verified, accepted, or set aside. Everyone speaks for themselves. Therefore, indeed, all my comments – they are mine and about me. And yours – still yours.
I know nothing about karma; I explore and solve my life tasks, not yet operating these concepts. During our discussion, I began to link them to family tasks. I counted the uncles and aunts who professionally and successfully give advice and diagnoses – more than a dozen teachers and doctors, and almost all decent bores. ))
Why do people not leave comments? There are many reasons, most of which are unknown to me. They have no need to comment. You know, there are those whose leading signaling system is the first – they perceive the world through images; they do not need to express their thoughts in words – to speak or write. Others – maybe they have such a vow – of silence. And, of course, to open up oneself, one must understand for what, and to whom, and then there will be courage and trust.
You say that you don’t know about karma. The point of the entire conversation then, starting from the first comment in which you give me advice as if you know?
Desires can arise due to the quality of the space (website). Pay attention to the details – say, is it easy to change your message, how quickly will a response appear (i.e. what needs the site is geared towards). All the details reflect the facets of the whole. It is here that the manifestation occurs)
You answered from the perspective that you understand what is being spoken of, and everything is easy and simple. Just like the Student about sex. I prefer not to think for others, and if a person speaks about imagining oneself as a savior, then that’s exactly what they believe. Although there are no visible reasons for this and even the opposite, I mention that exiting the lineage does not work, thus I have such experience and interest in that direction.
Many of us are learning not to assume for others. For example, what made you think that I respond based on what I understand without difficulty, and that everything is simple, for example about sex? 😉 I agree with you, everyone speaks for themselves.
And what are you responding from? The motivating factor behind any action is usually visible upon close inspection, and for example, you probably know your own motivation well. And I see it quite clearly too. There aren’t so many of them in total – to understand something for oneself, to help out of compassion, to assert oneself in different forms, that’s probably it. And each such response is quite recognizable.
Regarding the second question, as written, I was interested in the experience of exchanging karma through interaction. And I received it. Moreover, it is clear I am acting according to your advice. To think about what to take and how to interact.
Piety is a capacious word. It’s not even about providing good honor to someone; it’s about providing good honor to oneself. This is also Jesus’ way of treating others as you would like to be treated.
You see, you can steal, but it’s very unpleasant and devastating when something is stolen from you. You can kill, but it’s even more sad and destructive when a loved one is killed or when it’s you. You can desire, but how devastatingly terrible it is when someone looks greedily at the one you love.
Not stealing, not killing, not desiring in itself is not bad, if you exclude the binary (good-bad), but it is horrific when actions are committed against you.
People only put on a mask of piety (and not everyone does that), but if you dig a little deeper, the dirty laundry and monsters start to spill out. For example, if a woman is married to one man, sleeps with another, but loves and desires a third (I do not mean any specific woman), then however piously, culturally, and politely she behaves outwardly – she is essentially deceitful; moreover, she deceives herself and steals happiness from herself. However, I do not judge her; that would be an unjust judgment because I have my own “sins,” and condemning her would be another unpious act.
For the aware, karma is imposed obligations-restrictions on the chains of personalities. Hence, the scheme of interaction with karma – the methods depend on the point of attention of the one who is aware in the chain. If we consider the personality, then yes, direct living through it, but one must know the solution anyway. It can be taken from a future or past personality, or understood within the boundaries of the current personality, but! You must materialize it in the new conditions of the game.)
There’s also such a thing – setup. For example, which the Absolute sets through the masculine and feminine. From this position karma is a play; people are the characters involved in the setup (personalities). And here the meaning of the play is not simply to participate in it as scripted, but to change the very action – it is a living play). In this way, one can try to harmonize in the energy exchange of the masculine and feminine. Instead of the current situation where the feminine fears the onslaught of the masculine, and the masculine manifests not as it should, but aggressively. And karma is a script for behavior – the man is assertive, and the woman is afraid. However, these rules can be changed. The higher the level of the setup, the more it changes collectively. But for now, everyone is playing their little play. Solving local tasks for their families, while globally everything goes around again. Of course, there is hope that many will resolve it for themselves and this will become a trend).
As someone who has been tinkering with my consciousness for a long time, I will say this. Every little piece of freedom, of course, is perceived as a celebration. How incredible can it be) I don’t know what to compare it to. It cannot be compared to the satisfaction of a desire. The solution of each ring, along which thoughts run, going beyond its limits, is a separate celebration. And here, one can say, this is truly one of the best things I know – for example, for the first time in my life to understand that I am free from unnecessary expenditures. Standing in a store, looking at what I had clung to before, and smiling. No longer holding myself by the hand, nor watching, nor searching and demagnetizing the reasons but calmly smiling. I have already written about this. And yesterday, a part about violence was demagnetized. And you sit there, new and clean, with eyes like a little kid. I myself and with my own hands have released myself from yet another cage.
As far as I know ahead – these things will try to return a few more times, for some time in similar situations it will be like a script, I will be aware of everything and look and act very slowly. Like the first steps.
And then I will live like that.
What does an already accomplished action represent? How do we perceive it, being enslaved by illusions? – Absolutely subjectively. We attribute to the event that took place something that has nothing to do with it. We color it with the shades of our subjective emotions, evaluate it according to our subjective scale of values. We perceive it based on what our inner self represents. The only thing that truly worth striving for is to be impeccable (without loss of strength) at the moment of committing the (yet unconsciously) action.
Thank you, Master.
