The Rotten Heart of Belfegor
Although the influence of any Demon on the human mind manifests primarily as a blockage of the capacity for love and non-exploitative relating, for one of the Dark princes this function is foundational.
The black sun of the klippot, the klipa Tagirion, is ruled by the Lord of the Caves – Baal Fegor (a shadow variant of the ancient “Master of the Account” – Baal Figora, for in the darkness of the cave wealth cannot be counted), or, as his name is usually read – Belfegor.
Belfegor appears when the impulse toward inward accounting, self-examination and assessment, turns into self-admiration and then into jealousy and envy. Instead of seeking within what should be revealed and realized, the mind closes in on itself, falling into a vicious spiral of spiritual self-absorption.
The cave referred to in his name is, on the one hand, a place of darkness and cold where the light of the Sun (Tiferet) does not penetrate; on the other hand, an allusion to the cavities of the human body and sexual associations; and thirdly, a place where hoards and treasures were hidden.
Therefore Belfegor is a demon of wealth, a demon of sloth, and a demon of sex (together with Asmodeus and Astaroth — of whom Belfegor is the “androgynous” counterpart), but above all he is the demon of the rotten heart.
If Astaroth (ruler of the klipa Gamechiot – the “shadow” of Chesed) “cools” the heart, and Asmodeus (ruler of the klipa Golahab – the “shadow” of Geburah) “closes” it, then Belfegor, combining these two elements, conditions the heart to be cold and closed, which inevitably leads to its exclusion from the Flow of Power, to chronic hunger, and therefore to necrosis, to “putrefaction.”
It is this stopping of all movement that corresponds to sloth (not as a habit, but as a Deadly sin), of which Belfegor is also considered the lord.
It is not difficult at all to let this Demon into one’s mind — sometimes he arrives after Asmodeus or Astaroth have taken possession of the sensual realm of the mind, and sometimes the heart “rots” simply because life is not sustained within it, feelings do not stir, love does not blossom.
Because the Tree of Klippot is “inverted,” Belfegor is positioned higher in it — closer to the Flow of Power of the Sephirot — than the more mighty Asmodeus and Astaroth, and even than Beelzebub and Lucifug, finding himself directly beneath the two-faced Mother of demons – Lilith and Nahemah.
It follows that the Dark Mother most often inspires the “putrefaction” of the heart; she, who hates every kind of love and encourages mutual consumption, “strangles” the heart, depriving it of even small moments of feeling.
At the same time, the “putrefaction” of the heart is often compensated by an overdevelopment of lower sensuality, as evidenced by Belfegor’s distinctly phallic, even priapic, attributes.
Sometimes, conversely, the “putrefaction” of the heart is expressed in a listlessness of the sexual sphere — if, due to individual psychological peculiarities, sexuality cannot be corrupted in such cases, it is suppressed.
Belfegor often encourages selfish sexual behavior, overt or veiled prostitution, or other forms of selling oneself.
In general, all his efforts are aimed at “scattering” the emotional sphere, which should be rooted in the heart, across other areas of the mind, depriving it of unity and focus, and thus “rendering the heart superfluous,” transforming it from a bright Sun into a cold and fetid cave.
Clearly, to fight this Demon one must perform the reverse operation — concentrating and strengthening the emotional sphere, trying to revive the heart by giving it resuscitation in the form of inspiring actions and ideas. But most important is to establish harmonious relations with others, to build non-exploitative relationships, not refuse help and not flee from love.
Rot can be overcome; the main thing is to detect it in time and take steps to remove it, before the demonization of the Psychocosm has gone too far and it turns out that there may be nothing left to save…

For example, the integration of earth (fertile soil) and water (constant irrigation) allows grass to grow in that place. Maybe I’m missing something?
Harmonious relationships are those relationships in which each of their participants is stronger than themselves.
Harmonious relationships, non-consumeristic relationships are when there is no substitution of values in humanoid contacts. Value substitution is when powerlessness is passed off as strength and is even sold to a gullible consumer, or gifts of disutility are thrown in. Consumeristic relationships are about capturing human souls and their irresponsible exploitation.
Obviously, an example of harmonious relationships can be the constant union of a male magician and a female magician, resulting in each of their paths becoming more effective than if each remained alone. It’s like in physics – when waves with the same frequency add up and their phases coincide, the amplitude increases. But in reality, we most often see the opposite situation. Usually, what one partner lives for causes jealousy in the other. And in the world of ordinary people, family often ends up being the place where one engages in the active consumption of resources of the other. If each man and each woman is a Star, then the joining of Stars most often represents a pair “black hole – white dwarf,” where one does not shine at all and lives off the glow of the other, while the other shines dimly. How many people can be found who can say: “Whatever I achieved in life would be possible without a family and children.”
In general, it seems that as soon as a person breaks free from the traps of one demon, they fall into the trap of another. For example, if a person sees by living examples that families are ruled by the Spirit of Possession (Nachema), they begin to avoid starting a family – and thus may fall into the trap of “Free Love” of Asmodeus. There are quite a few young witches today who become such because they do not want to fulfill social female programs (to get married, have children, etc.) because they feel disgust towards the prevailing Spirit of Possession in families. And laziness, whose lord is Belphegor – is, obviously, primarily laziness to make specific efforts towards Achieving Knowledge and Communing with the Guardian Angel. For Achieving Knowledge and Communing with the SAH (Achieving Consciousness Tiferet) means the end of any power of Belphegor (unless the seeker, due to their ignorance, declares Belphegor as their SAH, and thus comes to a false union with this demon and ultimate subjugation by it)

That time I used the scheme of Gonorius. When I just started applying the methodology of this Grimoire to my goetic practice, I had to gather a number of supplies, especially it was difficult to find the epitrachil. However, by the time of this summoning, all the necessary items had already been gathered and tested.
To the incense, I added herbs that stimulate sexual activity and relate to the Sun – in particular, St. John’s wort, hawthorn, and rhodiola.
After prayers and invocations, the summoning had to be repeated eight times, although already at the stage of purifying the air, there was a sense of some heaviness around.
Suddenly a sharp smell hit my nose. Of course, smells are a usual attribute of goetic operations; they are always strong and usually unpleasant, but at that moment I didn’t immediately realize what the smell was. At first, it seemed to me that it smelled like bleach, and only later did I understand that it was the strong smell of sperm…
Just in case, I anxiously looked at myself, thinking that maybe the herbs had affected me, but thankfully nothing inappropriate happened to me in the Circle, and the source of the smell was still the Triangle of Art.
After the tenth recitation of the spell, the air began to shimmer and electrify, as if in the mountains before a storm, or near a high-voltage line in damp weather. Once again, I looked around, expecting a trap, but saw nothing suspicious.

But the smell was very palpable, and it did not diminish; on the contrary, it filled the blood, it seemed to be absorbed into the fabric of the cloak and further – through the skin into the blood. And a feeling of painful excitement spread through my body. It did not resemble ordinary sexual excitement; rather, it felt like poisoned blood, as with malaria or hay fever. Breathing quickened, and due to the viscosity of the air, it became painful as well.
And the voice continued to creak and creak:
– You are in my hands, everything is in my hands. I dominate bodies and souls; I control actions and desires.
– No. You have no power over me. My heart is alive and free.

I began to recite the exorcism spells, while the demon started laughing. Its laughter was either croaking, or cawing, or growling with a moan. These sounds echoed in my ears for a long time afterward.
