Where Does Lucifer’s Light Lead?

With the development of civilization, a force that was almost imperceptible in antiquity has begun to play an ever greater role in human life — the force of pride, governed and enacted by the figure of the Logos of the Qliphoth — Lucifer.

Unlike the “ordinary” demons, Lucifer, who carries the Light of Keter, does not draw energy from embodied beings, and his influence on the material worlds is not limited to the predatory destabilization typical of most other demons. It is far more subtle and is aimed at altering the very idea of the cosmos: at turning the world from an instrument of the Great Spirit’s knowledge into a means for endlessly differentiating that Spirit and, ultimately, into its disappearance in the abyss of its own private manifestations.

This disintegrating force appears in two forms — the force of mutual repulsion, Nahash, and the illusion of self-sufficiency — Baal-Zebub. We have already noted that Lucifer, as a Demon, — a distorted matrix — emerges as a result of the “darkening” of the Light of individuality — Yechidah, which, instead of grounding itself in the ego, slips into self-centeredness and claims separateness.

The name Lucifer (Helel, or “Helel ben Shachar,” “Son of the Dawn”) fairly precisely — more precisely than many other names of this power — reflects the meaning of its manifestation: the Light, instead of entering the vessel, is ‘transferred’ — it remains outside the closed vessel, which is thereby deprived of unity with the world and becomes self-absorbed.

This is why the “Light-bearer” spirit is at once a Prince of Darkness — under its influence Light and Vessel become separated, and the mind sinks into the darkness of the unmanifest.

The same is indicated by the epithet accepted in the Judeo-Christian world, “Satan” (from Hebrew satan — “adversary,” “accuser”), which emphasizes the key role of the personal will opposing world unity, called hubris. He is also “the prince of this world,” separate from the original creation.

At the same time, the reflection of the Light governed by Lucifer is, to a certain degree, a condition for receiving that Light; therefore it is important to distinguish pride and hubris: the former is a necessary condition for progress, the latter — an absolute obstacle on the path.

Possession by Lucifer, on the one hand, is encountered much less often than the inspirations of simpler demons, and on the other hand — his influence is felt in almost every self-aware being.

Indeed, self-awareness requires reflective capacity, and it places the being under Lucifer’s sway. At the same time, it is very important that this awareness be accompanied by a sense of harmony with the world, which we discussed in the conversations about the Dionysian principle.

However, it would be wrong to identify Lucifer’s differentiating force with the discriminating activity of reason — although the latter contains destructive elements, it is itself a pole of a more specific dyad than binary unity and multiplicity. Lucifer is multiplicity pushed to its ultimate limit; multiplicity that actively resists unity and elevates itself to the absolute.

Luciferian forces, which include, of course, the reason principle carried to an extreme, are only faint echoes of that core which is embodied in the very figure of the Logos of the Qliphoth.

However, let us return to the discussion of Lucifer’s immediate influence on the psychocosm. As we have seen, the higher the degree of self-awareness, the higher the level of individuation, the lower the threshold that separates the mind from the intrusion of the Spirit of Opposition. This danger is especially great for Magi, since the principle of autonomy is the key idea of Magic. Therefore the Magus must do everything in his power to be vigilant, preventing his pride from turning into hubris, and his separateness from becoming isolation. It is often observed how Magi who have attained great power fall into this trap — they close themselves off from the Current of Power, focusing exclusively on their own grandeur, and thus come under Lucifer’s sway.

And however reasonable their words and convincing their arguments, one always senses behind them the coldness of rejecting the Light, a turning away from the Stream of Life — the Flow of Power.

Under no circumstances must a Magus be trapped by his achievements — he must never forget, even for a moment, however great they may be, the Way ahead remains infinite, and around him the same seething life of the world continues.

Only thus, on the border between unity and multiplicity, does the Way of the Magus proceed, and avoiding hubris is the most difficult of the trials of this Way.

  1. I would like to see an article that reveals the essence of the pride of the Mage.

  2. In my opinion, the eclecticism of the article prevented the essence of Lucifer, his light, as such (he is presented in the traditionally culturally distorted light), from being revealed and distracted from the relevance of the theme of god-fighting pride. Lucifer is not a god-fighter, he is the demiurge of this world, whose Creation has been subjected to the influence of the free will of “co-creators” and distorted to the point of unrecognizability, described in texts and matrixically attributed to him. The Luciferian DNA spiral is primary for all incarnating in this world and is present in each, therefore, the expulsion of Lucifer in oneself is a delusion. It is wiser to identify and correct the distortions introduced into the nature of DNA, rather than one’s innate nature. In the context of DISTORTIONS, pouring light onto the essence of pride is very relevant!

  3. Christians have an aphorism: “The Ego is the mirror of Satan.” The ego-complex is precisely that which has an affinity with Lucifer (in this paradigm). In general, the doctrines of certain wizards, such as Thomas Karlsson, adepts of the “Temple of Set” led by Michael Aquino, and others, positioning themselves as representatives of the “Left-Hand Path,” are certainly inspired by Lucifer. The path they advocate lies, as they claim, not in striving for “Unity with God” (which, by their definition, is the goal of the Right-Hand Path), but in “becoming God oneself” (which, respectively, by their definition, is the goal of the Left-Hand Path). That is, not the destruction of the Ego and the transition of the Abyss, but the transformation of the Ego into God. This is clearly a Luciferian approach. From the perspective of the “Temple of Set,” Set serves as their “role model,” representing developed consciousness while maintaining its separateness. Essentially, their Set seems to be nothing other than Lucifer. There is an opinion that Lucifer is the fallen Da’at. It is not without meaning. Da’at is the “False Head.” Da’at, by virtue of its position, openly interacts directly with the Light of Keter on one hand, but on the other hand, reflects this Light (probably not accepting it), meaning it carries a Light that is, by virtue of being reflected, false. That’s how it is.

    • One remark – there is also an opinion that the very idea of Da’at appeared as a consequence of the fall, that this Sphere did not exist in the First Tree, and it appeared specifically to prevent the fall of the Second Tree.

  4. Dear Enmerkar, it turns out that Lucifer strives for complete separation, while beings like the Jotuns oppose differentiation as such. Is it correct to assume that these, shall we say, forces oppose each other?

  5. This contradicts what you wrote in the article about the archons: “The only real force that compels a being to move along the Path of Magic is the desire to exit the cycles of incarnations that tear the fabric of individuality and transition into Eternity – a state anticipated by every incarnated being as its destiny, the ‘promised land.'”

On one hand, you speak of unity, and on the other hand, we are being used and need to break free from here?

    • Finding balance is precisely the ability to balance on the edge of contradictions. A mage simultaneously lives in maximum individualization and in full harmony with the Pleroma.

  6. Can one consider creativity as one of the positive aspects of Lucifer? After all, in its purest form, it implies the emergence of something originally new, unique, while in a crystallized, indivisible whole, only the original combination is possible, so it seems that the Light of Lucifer, stimulating the discordant force (Nahash) in consciousness, can be a driver of progress or a muse for artists, for example 🙂 After all, any knowledge starts with the alienation of the subject from the object, and if it weren’t for this force, who knows… Maybe we would still be living in caves 🙂

  7. I found a lot of valuable materials on your site, but a special thank you for this article! Such explanations put everything in its place for those who are embarking on the Path.

  8. Here is the translation to English:

“It’s all speculative. One can comprehend archetypes, including Lucifer, as well as various clichés created by humans. It is impossible to truly understand Lucifer himself, as he is a being of higher dimensions. To comprehend him, one must exist on the same level. And for a human, or even a great magician, this is impossible. In fact, to label Lucifer as a demon is akin to trying to fit an elephant into a matchbox. It is clear that humans are inevitably within the realm of Lucifer. It is pointless to assume that parasites, forgive the comparison, could have a proper understanding of the human they reside in. Similarly, humans cannot truly know the consciousness of Lucifer. At the very least, thanks to Lucifer, humans possess a sense of humor, as humor is based on comparison. Indeed, all art, when you think about it, reflects this. A work of art is an attempt to create a separate reality of one’s own. Furthermore, this work can later be integrated into a universal harmony. Or it can be destroyed. That is, the creative essence in a person is impossible without Lucifer. Individualization is impossible. In fact, it’s unclear what is actually possible. Lucifer is an experiment. All experiments arise from this. Where can one arrive without experimentation? The negative aspect of Lucifer in our world can be considered as various artificial realities, stripped of foundational elements, where one can get lost, confused, and disappear. But these are personal issues for each individual—learning to distinguish reality from illusion. Lucifer has granted people the freedom to create whatever they desire. Prometheus, among the Greeks, is the same as Lucifer. He stole fire from Olympus. And is anyone dissatisfied? In Tolkien’s works, this character is called Eärendil. He didn’t come up with it himself. Not at all Sauron. Likewise, the biblical Satan has nothing to do with this, as Satan is Mara for Hindus, the Lord of Illusion. And of course, it was not he who gave the fire of reason to humans. In fact, Satanism is more related to Christianity and flows from it. To say that Lucifer is merely a distorted mirror would be a statement no one would dare to make. Intuitively, people know that this is not the case. Furthermore, the quarantine from this planet has already been largely lifted. Therefore, Lucifer’s role will appear before people in a different light. Pride is a term used by churchmen that lacks a clear explanation, as it must be assumed that they know who the true God is. Against whom there was allegedly a rebellion by certain angels at some point. But the churchmen are not familiar with this God and are simply bluffing. That’s why they cannot define what pride is. Pride is to believe that there are people who understand archangels and are knowledgeable about their problems. That is real pride, off the charts at 200 units. Everything else is trivial.”

  9. Sure. Let’s assume someone is personally acquainted with that very main boss in front of whom one must humble oneself, rather than suffer from pride. Although this sounds absurd, it indicates an even worse degree of egoism. How does this humility manifest? Is it that someone is cool but repeats to themselves that God is still cooler? What does it matter who is cooler than whom? Or is it about acting foolishly, banging one’s head against the floor? That’s just duplicity and hypocrisy. What is the point of talking about pride and the differences between pride and vanity when no one can clearly describe or articulate true humility? Until when can we speak of pride and after which point does it become vanity? And who is the model of humility? Mahatma Gandhi? Jesus? No one knows him either. There are opinions that Lucifer is one of many incarnations. And Yahweh, Brahma, and Zeus are just projections that have slipped out of control. One can disagree with that, but it cannot be disproven. Is it a contrast to universal unity? But our world is quite far from unity. And if it arises somewhere, it is on a completely false basis, like in China or in the USSR. Opposing oneself to such unity is crucial to remain a human being at all. How could Buddha have emerged if he hadn’t opposed himself to some form of unity? Even the singer Madonna would not have emerged if she hadn’t opposed herself to the general unity. Or is this about a higher unity of everything, of the entire Universe? But we know very little about it. And pride cannot occur for that very reason alone. One cannot elevate oneself above that of which they have no understanding. One can only bluff endlessly. One can rise above the priests. That’s not difficult. They are the ones who made up tales about pride for their own personal needs.

    • Dear Aurelius,)) I am amazed at the depth of your knowledge and the strength of your humility. I don’t even know how to express my gratitude for opening our eyes to the right organization of the world!!! If it were not for your harsh, uncompromising stance, we would still be wandering in the darkness of misconceptions. How good it is that you feel entitled to judge that the author is wrong and counter your opinion even though no one asks you to!!!))) I hope that your guidance to us, the unfortunate dark ones, on the path to truth will not take up much of your time and you will be able to leave us to continue sowing in the world the reasonable, good, and eternal.

    • Strange, Aurelius, you refer to sorcerers but cannot clarify what “humility”, “pride” and “arrogance” mean.
Since the question has been raised, I assume this task.
“Humility” means “with peace”. “To be at peace with the Creator of this planet” means to be at peace with the world he has created. No more, no less. This means agreeing with the rules of the game he has set. Whether or not to be humble is a question each answers for themselves. But in general, his rules are quite straightforward, for instance, biological. If you follow them, you will live long on his planet; if you do not follow, you will die quicker. Everything is banal and simple.
“Pride” and “arrogance” can be decoded by the letters.
      From this:
“I feel pride” I interpret as: I move from the known structure, I flow for good in the structure, I connect and affirm in continuation.
“I feel arrogance” I interpret as: I move from the known structure, I flow for good in a separate (own) structure, from it I materialize thought and extract light.
I carefully reread the article and see that Enmerkar wrote exactly about this.

  10. Perhaps Mr. Lucifer carries his piercing light wherever he should carry it. And perhaps we should follow his example in that we must do what is necessary. Every action at every moment should be impeccable, and the created Thing should be Perfect. Right on the coin.)))
