Predators of the Psychocosmos
A recent remark about the influence of the Parasite of mind on re-examination prompted many questions about other predators that inhabit our psyche and its environs.
This problem manifests on several levels. On the one hand, it is very tempting to believe that various inner problems and impasses are the product of hostile external beings. Such a view, it would seem, absolves one of responsibility. On the other hand, however, the idea of the Psychocosmos as a universe in which not only one being — our personality — lives and rules, but also a multitude of other beings, none of whom would hesitate to seize control of that universe and exploit its resources, is sobering.
Various traditions — from shamanism to psychoanalysis — have noted the dense population of the Psychocosmos. Some regarded the beings dwelling there as independent agents, others as having merely psychic reality; yet regardless, they acknowledged their active influence on life and on the balance of forces within the psychic universe.
Naturally, this state of affairs did not go unnoticed by Magi. Magical schools approached the problem in characteristic fashion. First, they affirmed the reality of other players in the Psychocosmos besides the personality. Second, they classified them as unconditionally hostile, conditionally hostile, and conditionally friendly. And third, they developed methods for interacting with and combating them.
Less-traditional schools began to call the actors of the Psychocosmos «astral entities», hiding their unwillingness to distinguish their natures behind the term.
The traditional view singles out among the inhabitants of the Psychocosmos the «psycho-elementals», beings without substantial reality, mere manifestations of psychic processes, yet possessing aims and tasks of existence distinct from the external personality. Such entities include, first and foremost, the true master of many Psychocosms — the Parasite of mind — as well as its “Angel”, the “Daemon“, and various smaller «infra-personalities», born from the churn of the Unconscious and dissolving back into it. Being “caliphs for an hour,” destructive elementals manage to accomplish something, seize part of the energy, and sink back into potential existence. Their manifestations make the stream of consciousness discontinuous, and each new “infra-personality” is only loosely connected with the others, which provokes thoughts like “How could I have acted like that?!”, “Was it really I who said (did) that?!” and so on. The answer to these questions is simple — each new infra-personality reaps the fruits of the earlier personalities’ actions and naturally strives to evade responsibility for them. As spawn of the Psychocosmos’ vortex structure (which, according to the Emerald Tablet, is analogous to the Macrocosm), infra-personalities participate in the general flow of the psyche, causing it to act inefficiently and hindering excessive power accumulation and evolutionary acceleration.
In principle, strengthening the core personality and bringing its motives and goals out of the subconscious’ shadow establishes a hierarchy in the Psychocosm and deprives psycho-elementals of power over it, ordering the flows of power. This is precisely what the traditional disciplinary training of the Magus is aimed at. A Magus cannot afford to be a multiplicity of personalities. He strives to preserve his own personality and constructs his Psychocosm around a single axis in accordance with uniform laws.
Matters are much more complicated with predators and parasites that exist outside the psyche and feed on it. Their pressure is less noticeable because they do not replace the personality, but only skillfully nudge it to dissipate energy. All such creatures are traditionally called «larvae», larval forms, because they require, for their development, discharges of various types of psychic energy. Larvae that feed on fear, lust, sorrow — the energies scattered by human beings — are well known. Like a pack of famished hyenas, they pounce on a person emitting those energies, strip them bare, and invent many ways to provoke such discharges.
Often larvae are created by one person but parasitize another; others are generated by demonic beings and act as their “representatives” on the periphery of psychocosms.
The third group of predators feeding on the mental energy consists of certain demons and similar entities.
Thus, according to traditional magical conceptions, the human personality lives in close company with numerous and often hostile entities. Yet this conception does not simplify existence; on the contrary, it places greater responsibility on individuals. The Magi begin with the assumption that no force can compel a person to lose power, because the Psychocosmos, like the Macrocosm, is entirely self-sufficient. All losses of power that occur in life are due to the person’s own will, while foreign influences merely push them toward actions that appear absurd from a sober viewpoint. At the same time, the struggle against such entities requires certain skills and approaches developed by magical schools and aimed at gaining control of oneself and one’s power.

I have written many times that at a certain stage of the Path, the transfer of knowledge and Power becomes a completely necessary condition for further advancement. At the same time, I am very cautious about “magic over the Internet,” which is why the posts on this blog do not contain any practical recommendations, which, however, does not detract from their practical value, because anyone who is close to the Path I describe can develop their own practical techniques based on them. I believe that learning Magic should happen strictly individually, and the Seminars conducted with my participation are not, strictly speaking, a form of teaching. They are designed only to reveal the Path and Power to the participants, to open certain possibilities for them, and how they will utilize these possibilities is up to them.

There are spirits that build relationships based on a commodity-money principle – ‘you for me, I for you’. And there are quite a few of them, especially among elementals.
The translation to English is:

“How can one determine the presence of parasites in oneself? Is there some classification?”

It’s easy to identify a parasite: if you lose strength from their influence but can’t stop, look for the parasite. If something is bothering you from the outside, also look for the parasite.
Intuitively, through self-analysis, I approached the idea of “parasites,” but considering my psychological education, I tried to understand this in the classical concepts of the unconscious. I think they do not provide exhaustive answers to some of the topics discussed here. Probably, the answers lie beyond the internal psychological processes… I have also encountered absolute misunderstandings of personal motives by people in my own private practice. Sometimes it really felt like people are mere conduits of someone else’s will… They genuinely do not understand what drives them, where the roots of their actions are…

And I thought that inside – I am my own mistress)))… It is not enough to reflect the first predator’s blow and relax; they regroup and deal the second, third, series of blows. I noticed – they force one to act inefficiently outwardly; that is, to battle with them mentally – it’s pointless. You defeat them by NOT DOING the actions they provoke – then the wave calms down and leaves on its own while the power remains.
Control. Controller-Heart. Is it yours or imposed, only the heart will tell. All the answers are within. The question is how to achieve such control. First, awareness, responsibility for all your actions. Understanding that you bear a certain responsibility for what you create. Thoughts are a powerful weapon, but only you can harness it, make it your strength. Simply put, it’s like from the outside, but inside, you live, do something, and at the same moment, you filter everything through control. Absolutely everything. You weigh it immediately and make a decision. The only correct one at that moment, but only at that moment, because everything is in motion, and you must have the flexibility to quickly make another decision, or rather a series of possible options, with their ensuing consequences. And filter all of this. Parasites are usually flexible, but they infect your mind, not the Heart. But there are various ways to get as close as possible to the heart – playing on our weaknesses, self-pity, regular human jealousy – a product of selfishness, and much more. Here, each can find their beacon, determined again by the heart and not stray off course. There are methods of struggle, and many different ones, but why need them? Let’s start with ourselves, and then apply everything that is individually necessary. If you want, drive them away, but who knows, maybe it’s better to “have a cup of tea together”))). Love is a strong thing…
The first time I see him, I get scared. He doesn’t look like a human. I saw him for the first time about 4 years ago. I was putting my son to sleep. I closed my eyes and saw a huge being at the head of the bed, in a cloak with a hood. It spread its similar arms and started hugging my son… Since then, I periodically see him next to me.
