Aura Vision and Vision of Energy
Popularized by Latin American writers, the word “Vision”, implying a certain extraordinary ability, has entered and spread through Western culture. At the same time, for a century and a half this culture has also adopted an idea from the East: the idea of the “aura” as some emission of the human being, and methods for seeing that emission have been developed. It often seems that the “Vision” described in Mesoamerican literature and “aura vision” are one and the same ability.
Traditional European magic, of course, was familiar with both phenomena.
On the one hand, the aura, the “Kli Hitzon”, the “Outer Vessel” of the human being, has been observed and studied in Europe for millennia no less closely than in India. The word “aura” has two sources — on the one hand from Greek aura meaning a breeze, and on the other from Hebrew aur meaning “light”.
Traditionally aura is described as a luminous, oval form surrounding the body, visible to those with extrasensory perception. It is believed that the aura consists of several interrelated layers, usually represented in different colors. It is commonly said that the aura has the nature of an electromagnetic field and is produced by currents naturally circulating in a living organism (or any object). Others claim that the aura embodies the “divine spark of consciousness“, the “Higher Self“, without which a person’s very existence would be impossible. The aura changes color, size, and shape depending on the person’s physical and emotional state, and in a sense reflects a person’s thoughts. Be that as it may, the aura can be seen around every person, and anyone can see it if they wish; you need not be clairvoyant or psychic. An aura can be seen around any object, whether a stone or a kitchen table. In fact, seeing the aura is a simple enhancement of normal vision, its development and training.
But seeing energies is quite different energies. As mentioned, it is traditionally held that the embodied object, the Monad’s projection into the immanent world, is the Composition, or Adir, which represents a set of energies that must be translated from potential into actual by that being. In other words, there is a certain proportion among realized potencies, potencies ready to be realized, and potencies that cannot be realized at present, and it is precisely this proportion that constitutes the being’s energetic structure. We should note what Western tradition means by ‘energy’. The term has been badly debased by self-styled ‘psychics’, ‘bioenergeticists’, and the like. Despite their high-flown rhetoric, magic understands energy closer to its literal, physical meaning.
From Greek the word “energeia“, first used by Aristotle, means “action”, more precisely “capacity for action”. And it is well known that in physics energy denotes the capacity of a body to do work. Magic understands this term in exactly the same way. Unlike popular esotericism, Magic never equates energy with Power, considering energy only one of the manifestations of the more general principle of Power.
Speaking of Monads and their potencies, it follows naturally that each potency gives the Adir capacity to perform a certain action and is therefore an energy. In other words, the Adir represents the aggregate energies of that being.
In practice it is possible for one Adir’s mind to perceive another’s energies. This is called Vision of Energies. Unlike aura vision, Vision of Energies is not an enhancement of physical sight; it does not relate to bodily functions, but operates on a far more synthetic level. Similarly, the Adir is not derived from the physical body; rather, the physical body reflects one aspect of the Adir.
Within the tradition there are different views on the phenomenon of Vision. Some consider it innate, a special faculty possessed by only a few. Others insist on the possibility of acquiring this faculty through special training. However, in any case, we are speaking of a special ability, a gift, which cannot be attained without comprehensive traditional training.
Forms of Vision can vary. Depending on a magus’s inclinations, they may visualize energies or perceive them intuitively. The essence is the same: they can determine which possibilities are currently open, which may open soon, and which require serious changes. Therefore one can also say that Vision of Energies is the vision of that being’s Way.
In principle, both abilities are important for the practicing magus: aura vision, which improves one’s ability to orient in the physical world, and Vision of Energies, which prevents straying from the Way in a metaphysical sense.

“special ability, gift, the achievement of which is impossible outside of comprehensive traditional training”
How can one achieve this gift? What kind of comprehensive traditional training must one undergo to acquire this special ability?
When I spoke about ‘comprehensive traditional training’, I did not mean formal peculiarities like ‘selection’, ‘elitism’, although all these elements might indeed be present; I primarily meant that if a person learns to see the aura, they can spend half an hour a day on it and won’t need to learn anything else. However, if a person wants to become a magician and devotes all their time and energy to it, only in such a complex can Vision come to them.
Do you have Vision? If so, how did you learn it? Did you study it? If there were an abstract possibility of choosing some ‘exceptional’ skills of a Mage, would you choose Vision? Why?
If seeing a person’s aura is an enhancement of physical sight, how can this be developed? At what point can one confidently say: ‘I see the aura’?
P.S.: Sorry for the interrogation, just curious 🙂
Indeed, seeing energy is one of the most important skills of a Mage, representing immense value in terms of stability on the Path, choosing this Path, and orienting in the metaphysical space, as well as in the Psychocosmos.
As for seeing the aura, being an enhancement of physical vision, it is always visual, and one can say ‘I see the aura’ exactly when you see a stable picture of glowing of different colors and intensities around a person’s physical body.
Can the ability to see be correlated with Intuition? After all, Intuition, while not a visualization, is the ability to foresee, to sense the direction of the development of events; in other words, to feel the potentials of being?
Can intuition, which to varying degrees is inherent in all people, be considered a nascent form of Vision?
Could the development of intuition contribute to the development of Vision?
Intuition, as direct knowledge synthesis, can indeed be viewed as a nascent form of Vision; however, it is incorrect to say that anyone with more developed intuition has a greater chance of acquiring Vision.
Sorry for the insistence, but I would very much like to know the answer to the first part of the question, namely: “Do you have Vision? If so, how did you learn it? Did you study it?”
I learned it. Long and hard. But I received it – as a gift.
1922 August 26 In ancient cults, there always remained traces of spiritual teachings. Even the old round dance preserved the beginning of spirituality. In the middle of the circle was placed the chosen one, rarely the chosen one. Around her, ritual movements and a choir were performed. The central chosen one remained seemingly inactive. But all movements and addresses were made seemingly to her. And she carried the meaning of expressing all aspirations. So it is in the teaching of the Spirit. The pupil receives flashes of joy. He receives the abyss of quests. He receives the ice of solitude. And then he must endure the burden of concentration. Seemingly alone, seemingly voiceless, seemingly without help, he carries the burden of all upon himself. And just as the deceased, as in the ice of solitude, he waits and readily accepts the burden of addresses. As if the basis of a building, silently he allows himself to be surrounded. And he multiplies his hands, and expands his heart, and he must grow spiritually upon all who seek. But he is not afraid. And he knows that his time comes. And those that knock, those that scare, and those that weigh, they must come. And he must meet them. And temporarily, he is surrounded by them, and his exit is closed. But there is no eternal test. But the opportunity for the nearest path is close. So is the burden of concentration. And it is good if hands of friends reach out to you. If the round dance weaves from good wishes.
8.043. Magic is like massage. Massage artificially limits and restores forms of the body and circulation. Magic also artificially connects and restores communication with the Unseen World. Massage is not needed by a healthy organism. Magic is not needed by an evolved spirit. Massage addresses unhealthy members. Magic delivers Teaching about conditions, about palliatives, without opening the simplest access to the Higher World. Upon beginning a massage, it is necessary to strengthen; otherwise, the fabric will begin to threaten growth and destruction; having turned to magic, it is necessary to enhance mastery of it; otherwise, the elements will begin to displace the retreating one. Thus, comparing the physical and spiritual worlds, we see the same operative laws. The same laws indicate how much closer the simplest paths are to the developed consciousness. The belly will not grow with moderation, the heart will not grow silent with the refinement of spirit.
1922 July 23 Through deserts, oceans, and mountains, move in a single breath. And here we stand face to face. There is no space. Time has vanished; the power of knowledge has emerged. Is it easy to soar on wings? I will say: easy for those who sense their wings. But not to fly for those who have grasped the sweetness of the earth. Where shall they fly from their idol? Thus, in fact, you will grasp the insignificance of earthly desires. Simply enough, because all is simple. Take flight in thoughts, take flight in assertion, take flight in love. The feeling knows the joy of flight. Again, the abyss of life remains beneath feet. And the wonder of jubilant colors will shimmer among the stars of the Southern Cross. All is accessible.
Hello! Three years ago, I saw the aura for the first time. It is magical, of course! I see it best when my eyes are relaxed and I do not strain when I want to see it, for example, sitting in a movie theater and watching the performers on stage. Only it’s a pity that I don’t see it in its full splendor. Apparently, I am allowed to see it gradually. In the beginning, understanding the colors and shapes tormented me with questions about what they mean. From what I learned from literature and other sources about this, I was not satisfied. And I want to see it and understand it in its full beauty. How to do this, I do not know…
Hello! Miracles! I’m not the only one struggling with this question. Please clarify – I see colors around the body that glow, change, and ‘run’ while shifting. But I see it at a distance of about ten centimeters around a person’s body. A larger aura is visible when you’re, for example, in a movie theater watching performers on stage. How can I see it in all its glory? Furthermore, when will I fully understand what these colors mean? Can you advise?
Many sources on the internet are dedicated to the vision of auras, and the meaning of colors is also discussed. Please inquire.
🙂 I’m aware 🙂
On the topic of Vision: I believe that complete visibility of the path is impossible, since there are no two identical paths. I feel that to fully see another’s path, one needs to completely leave one’s own, to lose oneself. Which is completely undesirable. Therefore, one can only see someone’s path as far as it intersects with your own. “So you will have a Star with a star, a system with a system – let no one know the other fully” (A. Crowley, “The Book of the Law”)
Although the ‘complete’ vision of the Paths is indeed possible only in rare cases (for example, only under this condition can Teacher-Student relationships arise), nevertheless, the general direction of the Path is usually quite noticeable. The same goes for the ‘desirability’ of this vision – it is absolutely necessary when something common connects the Travelers – for example, in the case of Teacher and Student relationships.
I live in Moscow.
I see energy.
I am looking for people with the same skills in my city.
For contact, ICQ 339553062.
Alexey, let’s communicate! Here’s my ICQ, sorry for the audacity: 553973195
Seeing energy is a natural ability of a person. The main thing is to develop the ability to make Seeing another way of perception. By seeing a person’s energy, you can know everything about them, including their possible future. But it’s not that simple. There are several levels of energy in any living being, and each carries certain information.
I see a white fog around me, is this energy (prana)? I practice concentrating my attention on the third eye daily and do hatha yoga; where can I go further and what can I improve?
Himera: There are no guarantees, but every form and level has a chance… seek. 1) Consciousness – https://enmerkar.com/en/way/mind-and-the-illusion-of-personality . ‘When polishing the shovel to a shine daily – one should take care of the owner of the tool as well’ https://enmerkar.com/en/way/the-body-conduit-of-awareness 2) Carlos Castaneda (Toltecs) – http://kinozal.tv/details.php?id=476743 3) Enmerkar’s blog – https://en.enmerkar.com/page/1
I disagree regarding the impossibility of achieving without training. It can develop and manifest spontaneously, given sufficiently high tension of feelings caused by external environmental factors, i.e., as life presses.
Once again, I’m thrilled by such details in the article. Thank you.
