Have You Been Abducted Yet?
The myth of Abduction enjoyed extraordinary popularity in antiquity: the abduction of Ganymede, Persephone, Europa, as well as of valuables — Jason’s Golden Fleece, Odin’s Mead of Poetry, Fire by Prometheus — all reflected one of the most important principles: transition between Flows.
To understand this transition from the standpoint of the Western magical myth, let us recall what we have said about the organization of the Psychocosmos in its global aspect.
As mentioned, the character of the actualization of potentials — the development and expansion of consciousness — is described as a flow of Power. Individual flows, as a rule, fuse into larger ones and, finally, into the Great Flow of Power.
However, the focus of the individual mind is usually not identical to an entire flow: it is crystallized, and its development is perceived as movement within that flow.
If one looks from this point of view, one can imagine the individual personality (as well as any other object) as a “passenger in a boat” sailing in the flow of mind.
In other words, consciousness moves in the flow generated by itself, and this flow is supported and reinforced by others moving in the same direction.
Therefore the vector of development of consciousness is usually relatively clearly defined, forming its vird. At the same time, it is perfectly obvious that this vird does not always lead in a direction favourable for the optimal development of that mind; it does not always coincide with its Orlög.
Hence, from time to time the right course is to switch development from the evolutionary to the revolutionary Way — a “leap” of mind or transcensus.
At the same time, the established flow in which consciousness moves is perceived as lawful, habitual reality, and the necessity of leaving it is viewed as a violation of the law, a crime.
The myth describes two methods of such a transcensus — “escape” and “abduction” — respectively, active and passive departures from the flow, and the very terms already emphasize a certain “illegality” of the act.
Indeed, the exit of even the smallest element from an established system never goes unnoticed by the system itself; it always disrupts its integrity, leads to its reconfiguration, and therefore is always perceived unfavourably by the system and condemned by its other elements.
Therefore the Magus’s departure from the flow of consumption, like other similar actions, has always met with the resolute condemnation of society.
At the same time, continuing to move in a flow that shackles the possibilities of development is fraught with degradation and loss of Power.
It should be noted that what has been said is true for less global transitions as well.
Even in human life there are both “escapes” and “abductions”, bringing both positive and negative changes.
Often a person flees from Power, or is abducted by Power.
But just as often the reverse situations occur — when a person flees toward Power or is abducted into Power.
Surely everyone has experienced occasions when someone burst in, turning everything upside down, changing values and priorities. This can be falling in love, of passion, or similar. And this is the classic example of “abduction” — a transfer of consciousness from one flow to another.
Mysteries, initiations — these too are “abductions”, when the mystagogue shifts the initiate’s consciousness from one form of existence — from one flow — to another. Power can also abduct a person by other means, bursting into their life in the form of sudden “changes of circumstance”, misfortunes, or, conversely, fortunate coincidences, etc. — and the result, again, is a change of the flow in which consciousness moves.
At first glance, “escape”, as the active element, seems a more “correct” action than “abduction”, in which the personality plays a “passive” role and the activity belongs to the “abductor”.
However, look more closely and the emphasis changes: flight usually implies a negative action — flight “away from” something; in other words, it has the character of repulsion, and there is a great danger the person will be carried away by this repulsion, and “throw out the baby with the bathwater”; that is, reject not only the flow that destroys them, but also the one they ought to enter.
At the same time, under “abduction”, the mind is inevitably introduced into a new flow, although, of course, there is the danger that it may not be the flow it needs.
Nevertheless, practically every Magus has experienced “flight” or “abduction”, and it is very important to be aware of what is happening to oneself at the present moment, to know when to go with the flow and when — flee from it or allow oneself to be abducted, and not to miss an evolutionary leap, nor repel the flow one should enter.

If the kidnapped sheep did not gain anything from the activity of the kidnapper, then I believe it has every reason to run away.
Well, there are different kinds of kidnappers. Indeed, the sheep have several alternatives – either peacefully chew cud, thinking everything is fine, while the owner has already invited guests, cleaned skewers, stocked up firewood, poured wine into bottles, and, most importantly, sharpened the knife. The other option is to be kidnapped by a wolf. The third option is to be kidnapped by another barbecue lover. So, no preference there. And the only way to change the situation is to run. But for a domestic sheep, even escaping won’t lead to anything good. Since it is neither aargali nor a mouflon, it has no idea how to survive in the wild.
In fact, it seems to me that often both flight and kidnapping occur simultaneously. The lives of most people are determined because an individual’s life is the result of some general agreement (in which they did not participate in their conscious life). According to this very agreement, everything appears approximately as follows:
15-16 years – they want to live their own life, but those close to them want to decide their fate for them.
22-24 years – having many ambitions and believing that everything depends on them, and they will be lucky if they want something badly enough, they suddenly realize that not everything depends on them. And the tales of the boy who polished shoes and became a millionaire, or of the red-haired, chubby, acne-scarred four-eyed nerd who became a Hollywood alpha-male sex symbol whom all the girls within a ten-mile radius flock to – these are not about them (by the way, it seems such tales are inspired by the Archons since they are highly beneficial for them. I would argue that a democratic structure of society is much more advantageous for the Archons than a class-based one. This is because, in a class-based society, it seems there is no room for dreams. If a person is the son of a general, military or civil, he will become a general (unless, of course, he is killed during a military career). If he is the son of a merchant, he will become a merchant. If he is the son of a usurer, he will continue his father’s business. If he is the son of a peasant, he will not become anything but a peasant. And there is not much to dream about. In contemporary society, they say you are free in your choices and that you have unlimited possibilities to build your life as you wish. But in reality, it turns out that this freedom and these possibilities do not exist for you. In general, the social myth, this common tunnel of reality for most, is thoroughly saturated with deception).
35-45 years – they understand that they will not fly into space, discover the seventh continent, invent a perpetual motion machine, and all that awaits them is a gray normal life of a normal gray person. Some reconcile themselves with it and turn into ordinary aging tightwads. Others do not accept it – and either become alcoholics, have a heart attack, or suffer a stroke. Third, there are those who become fools, dressing as teenagers, behaving like teenagers, hanging out with their sons’ friends on equal terms (and their sons do not treat them as sons, but as friends), taking mistresses twenty years younger who bleed them dry, etc.
55-65 years – hemorrhoids, prostatitis, hypertension, and arthritis.
This is the agreement that most people involved in the social myth are bound by. This is the essence of the social myth.
Those few who manage to decipher this essence will naturally long for a different life. That is, the very understanding of what the social myth fundamentally represents generates the Will-to-Flight.
But a person who feels the Will-to-Flight may eventually read a book by some Master, and this book will change their fate (more specifically, redirect their Wyrd). Their Will-to-Flight will gain more distinct outlines on one side, and on the other – they will begin to flow into the current to which the Master belonged or belongs. And that is already a Kidnapping. The least intellectually capable but most emotional and suggestible individuals are usually abducted by all sorts of Pentecostals, Charismatics, and Evangelical Baptists. And those whose ignorance borders on idiocy are often snatched by (false) Jehovah’s Witnesses. In fact, for all the aforementioned, kidnapping is an openly declared activity, as they position themselves as ‘fishermen for human souls’, appealing to what Jesus told apostle Peter at their first meeting (Matthew 4:19-20).
Thus, it seems impossible to draw a clear line between flight and kidnapping. The kidnapped often want to be kidnapped. Although, there are exceptions. For instance, the story of Don Juan and Carlos Castaneda. The latter was clearly not seeking Power before meeting Don Juan. And he had no concept of it. And then repeatedly he stupidly ran away from Don Juan. But Don Juan brought him back because ‘Power indicated to K.C.’
Both kidnapping and fleeing relate to passivity, from the perspective of INTENTION and MOTIVES (forced movement caused by external reasons). Both actions in their pure form are CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VICTIM’S BEHAVIOR, not the HUNTER’S.
To rely on the idea that one will not be ‘kidnapped’ by the parasite of consciousness in one of its forms, or that one will not ‘run away’ into its outstretched arms from PASSIVITY, is NOT POSSIBLE.
By fully accepting the CHALLENGES OF POWER and the SIGNS OF STALKING as ‘support and reinforcement’ of your current flow ‘by other flows moving in the same direction’, a mage is forced to PROACTIVELY HUNT FOR POWER in order to BE SUCCESSFUL on their path 🙂
And at the bifurcation points of the PATH, where both soaring and circling in place or falling are possible, they MUST CHOOSE and ACTIVELY ASPIRE, guided by the PATH OF POWER 🙂
Doctor, you are interpreting words too literally. The choice at the bifurcation point does not change the Flow of movement. It is a choice of channel. But sometimes situations arise when a cardinal change in the nature of movement is necessary, a leap-like and abrupt one. It is not ‘forced’ in the strictest sense of the word, as its motives may be hidden in the depths of the individual’s orlёg. On the contrary, it often happens that it is the continuation of following this flow that is actually forced.
‘Flight’, however, is simply an abrupt change, a cycle of destruction/construction, driven from within the system, and it is not necessarily ‘the victim’s flight.’ Similarly, ‘kidnapping’ refers to transcendence, employing an external source of Power. In this sense, ‘kidnapping’ can pertain to drawing energy from Places of Power and Power Loans. Thus, ‘the kidnapper’ is often not a victim at all.
Moreover, ‘Hunting for Power’ is only possible when movement occurs within the Flow. When stability is lost, the Hunt for Power transforms into a Hunt for Chance. And a caught Chance – abducts the catcher, that is, it transfers them into another flow of movement.
Thank you. The fact that the caught Chance abducts the catcher was very important for my understanding of the whole process and corresponds to the tetragrammatic cycle you wrote about earlier.
The PERCEPTIVE beginning of the HUNTER in an unstable environment fixes the potential EXISTENCE OF CHANCE and thus translates the hunter into a position of searching for this Chance.
The hunter from the ACTIVE BEGINNING begins hunting for CHANCE.
In the next stage – when Chance is found – the HUNTER is abducted by the Chance and finds themselves in PASSIVITY (at the very moment of the transfer into the NEW FLOW).
The conclusion of the transfer into the NEW FLOW of movement allows one to attain stability and enter into NEUTRALITY for some time 🙂
Interesting interpretation.:) For me, it is a Search, a Quest. This immersion in various streams is acquiring an understanding of existence a posteriori. And I am given the will to immerse and exit the stream at will. The key is not to let oneself be overwhelmed in the raging stream and to gain the skill to float.
Very interesting article.
I thought… At 17 years old, women came to me in my dreams, seated me at the table, and said that I should be with them… But they were witches or something.
I said that I would be only with God and only for Him are my services… They got angry and made it so that I began to be sucked somewhere – after that, I started forgetting everything – my name, family, my life.
And I remembered one name – my mother’s – and began to scream in my sleep – Mom wake me up…!
No one heard me, and I spat… everything disappeared.
I felt something sliding down my cheek (it was saliva)…
Was it abduction or escape? from the stream?
