Form and Matrix

As we have already discussed, the magical description of the world begins with the premise that any knowable object can be regarded, on the one hand, as a description produced by the mind, and on the other as an aggregate of energies, a block of energies manifested in the world.

We have also recognized that description is only partly arbitrary, since it reflects an inherent property of the block itself. This tendency of energy blocks to be described in a particular way is called the idea (Greek – «eidos», Sumerian – «Me») of the object. We have already noted that this “idea,” the ideal image, is an expression, a concrete ‘instantiation’ of the logos of the given system, its “matrix.”

It should be noted that, strictly speaking, the term “matrix” denotes a composite model, a mode of manifestation — how a particular description is produced (or, from another perspective, the manner in which the object itself is produced) — whereas the term “eidos” refers to the holistic apprehension of a given object or its quality. In this sense it is correct to regard matrices as aggregates of eidos; and if we set out to describe any eidos as a composite system, we do not call it a matrix but, in attempting to grasp its “general sense,” the idea, the particular logos.

At the same time, each of the elementary energies contains certain features of how it can interact with the perceiving mind — that is, how it can manifest — and the recording of manifestations should form the basis of description.

However, description often fails to account for all aspects of an energy’s manifestation or attributes characteristics to it that are not its own. The result of such an interaction between energy and the mind is form («morphos») — a description distorted by the limitations of the perceiving mind.

Although the mind usually deals with forms, it can also perceive matrices, and such perception is typically strongly colored; an object whose matrix is perceived commonly appears “divine” or “perfect,” and this is especially typical in the perception of the idea of the being itself, the Me of a person, or, as is now customary to say, the “human matrix”. It is well known that perception of the human eidos is often mistaken for a Guardian Angel or even a divine form, so perfect is its appearance. It usually appears as a light-emitting being with a form similar to a human form. At the same time, this radiant perception has no independent existence and is an image that the mind is ordinarily unable to hold.

If a being aligns its form with its matrix, or even identifies them, it attains the highest perfection available to its level of mind. Mystics of the early Middle Ages termed this transformation “deification,” the turning of the “mortal body” into a “body of glory.”

It is no accident that knowledge of the Logos — the meaning of existence — was regarded as a condition of deification. This knowledge precisely signifies the transition from perceiving forms to perceiving ideas — eidoses, and from them to perceiving the logoi, the “inner essence” of blocks of energy.

The shift from perceiving forms to perceiving eidos and matrices means cleansing the mind of all the components, complexes, and influences that pollute it. It is a mistake to understand deification in a purely moral sense as the attainment of ethical perfection to the utmost degree, as becoming godlike. Deification was understood as a true sublimation of the whole human being, of all the forces of body and soul. At the same time, it is important to understand that perceiving eidos does not imply an increase in the amount of the power of awareness, but only the cleansing of the screen of perception. Therefore, this perception, however mighty and luminous it may be, by itself leads nowhere; rather, it is an additional possibility that opens possibilities for developing awareness.

For this reason, the efforts of the Magus are not aimed at cleansing perception, at perceiving matrices, although it is also important for him to see in each object constituent matrices and forms. This will allow him not only to assess and thus increase the purity of his mind, but also to develop its discriminative power.

  1. You speak of the vision of Eidos (Matrix) as something, albeit useful, but not the most important on the magical path. At the same time, in the article, you hint that the vision of the Matrix is identical to the Conversation with the Guardian Angel. However, in the magical system where, as you know, I am, the Conversation with the Guardian Angel is what all efforts of the practitioner should be directed towards at the initial stage, as it is as a result of the Conversation that one opens his own Path (before this, progress is made in darkness by trial and error). In fact, you mentioned in the article that the vision of Eidos is somehow related to the knowledge of one’s Logos, or the meaning of life. I understand that the concepts of ‘Meaning of Life’ and ‘True Will’ are identical, and they ultimately define the path of the Magician. So why do you write about the vision of the Matrix as something secondary? Or have I misunderstood you? Or did you mean that the vision of the Matrix itself does not have decisive significance? Although, in our magical system, the concepts of ‘vision’ and ‘Knowledge and Conversation’ are by no means identical. If ‘Vision’ is possible already in Malkuth, then ‘Knowledge and Conversation’ pertains to Tiferet.

    • I only said that the vision of Eidos is often perceived as the vision of SAH, and not that it is so. I mentioned that the matrix has no actual being, and its perception is not the perception of the ‘higher self’ and, even more so, not a conversation with it. Eidos is merely a template for the perception of the object, not the meaning (logos) of the object, although Eidos is constructed under the influence of Logos. Therefore, the perception of Eidos only helps to approach the perception of Logos, and even that is not an obligatory component of this approach. Rather, the opposite – the perception of Logos is necessarily accompanied by the perception of Eidos. What is valuable is not the perception of the idea itself, nor the ‘contact’ with the matrix; what is valuable is the ability to activate this matrix in one’s consciousness. It is likely that this is what the ritual of ‘knowledge and conversation’ serves, as well as many other Seeking rituals.

  2. “If a being manages to bring its form closer to its matrix, or even identify them, then such a being achieves perfection, maximally accessible for its level of consciousness.” – Amazing, Enmerkar! – I just clicked the link attached to the word Form from the sentence above in your article and discovered a definition for the term Human Form, expressed in terms of Nagualism, that is, all those infamous “points of assembly,” “first attention,” “specific type of energy exchange and hard shell of the energy cocoon”……………………………………. “A human transforms the real flow of pure energy into organ data that are interpreted in accordance with the human form”……………………………………. however, in the context of Nagualism, a Mag seeks to rid themselves of the human form, to disidentify from the human matrix to the maximum degree………………. paradoxical!

    • In Kabbalah, as far as I know, the renunciation of Adam Kadmon, the transcendence of the Individual Logos of human form happens only at the Keter stage, if there is a vertical ascension. If only I could at least crawl there, to identify – that would already be progress.

  3. Hello everyone. I don’t want to waste oxygen, just show me at least one magician striving to free themselves from human form.

    • It depends on what you understand by the word ‘magician’. Yogis strive for Liberation so as not to be reborn as humans, Buddhists aim for dissolution, Kabbalists aim to change the level of the Partzuf, continuing development in the higher worlds, as do those walking the Path of the Gods in the Northern Tradition. Of course, most do not want to liberate themselves through magic, but only to improve the conditions around them in their lives. They haven’t gotten tired of this endless repetition of the past.

      • Good health to you, Luchizar. By a being calling themselves a magician, I see one who operates with the space of magic. This is objective. Perhaps you attach greater significance to the concept of ‘form’ than I do. For me, form is the body. You probably meant the form of consciousness. Regarding aspirations… Having gradually begun to act as a magician, I somehow lost the thread of the romance inherent at the beginning of the path. Magic, ‘subtle’ worlds, astral, dark, light… If we talk not about ‘village magic’, but about Magic as a style of life, then this is a responsible work where there is little room for romanticism and fantasies. (Not to be confused with creative inspiration). The more I see other worlds, technologies, meet different kinds of beings, learn about the politics of forces, the more I realize the saying – ‘it’s good where we are not.’ This world needs to be tidied up, our race needs to be saved, not to flee somewhere. Everything will be fine. It is not in vain that I transferred from the dark side of the sphere to our branch of the flower of love, and it is not in vain that our elders were raised to bring order. And of course, we need to develop.) Everything will be fine.

        • Becoming a bodhisattva – I think here one needs an internal calling and a considerable amount of philanthropy. Everyone has their own motives for development.

        • By the way, about saving the race without reaching the level of a bodhisattva: did you ask the race if it wants to be saved? Did you at least ask those around if they want Liberation, briefly explaining what it will require?

          • Luchizar, have you noticed that rockets have stopped flying between Israel and Palestine? This change is the work of our hunters and magicians through certain spells and the shield created. I do not intend to ask anyone or convince anyone. I am a hunter, not a magician, and I feel this world. My world is me, and I will create acceptable conditions for its survival.

          • So what do you see as the ‘salvation’ of the human race? In stopping wars – the main engine of evolution, in eliminating conflicts, binders, imbalance?

          • War is the most primitive engine of development. It doesn’t eliminate evolution; conflicts do not resolve but rather generate, being conflicts by nature. Primitive ‘neutralization of binders’ based on confrontation.

          • War is primarily a battle for resources, and it relates to evolution as much as limited consciousness finds a way to survive by consuming others.

          • Pay attention, Luchizar, to the ideology: the main microcosm, and everything else for a person is ‘outside the world’. The main microcosm and personal development.. one must become a bodhisattva.. (I’ll break my tongue), the most radiant and enlightened, but when I tell people about the integrity of the race, I always receive misunderstanding and the question: is it necessary for the rest? I immediately feel mutual misunderstanding – how can one separate oneself from others? We are all One, and if we feel deviations, then we all must put effort into resolving this conflict.

          • I’m not entirely sure what you mean by saving humanity. You can’t forcibly lead anyone to Liberation and transform them into something divine-like. And voluntarily neither shudra, nor vaishya, nor kshatriya will find it interesting. Here everyone will decide for themselves what matters more to them, whether they feel the integrity of the human race, etc. Even the gods have wars, even there are races, and the Northern gods do not get along with Yahweh. What to say about people and about the feeling of oneness, etc.

          • There’s nothing to argue about anyway. The beauty of Earth lies in freedom of choice, in the diversity of opinions and views. If you feel that this kind of salvation for humanity is part of the task of your embodiment – then, probably, that’s how it is. But you are also waging a war, as I understand: against those who plunge humanity into something disastrous, against those from whom, in fact, you want to save humanity. So in this case, I see that you do not spare war, but you are fighting.

          • As I see it, in your understanding, war is a battle for a result. But as you have probably noticed, the result can also be a beneficial agreement or a contract. War, as a subject, can be viewed from several angles: it is the birth of forces of order (chaos); it is the understanding of forces of Changes and Evil; it is an understanding of the very nature of politics and games. And this is only part of the meanings. In my rules of the game, there is no war if there are no serious violations. I strive to create, not to destroy.

          • NOT for argument – for illustration. In one place, rockets stopped flying, while in another place a tsunami, an epidemic, and hunger occurred. We can recall the malnourished children of Africa, for whom having drinking water is their limit of desires, or the same hungry children of spiritually elevated India. We can remember that the planet Earth cannot feed an unlimited number of inhabitants if suddenly everyone is saved…………………….. One can look at the rough faces of craftsmen or soldiers and realize that high ideas of equality and brotherhood have been buried under the ruins of socialism and communism for a reason…

          • To destroy the world, annihilate souls, and plunge the universe into the Primordial Abyss, as the jotuns desire – is also a variant of salvation ))) Because afterwards there will be nothing more to invent and worry about.

          • Tavita, in such cases my teacher says to our mages: choose a region, bring it to a normal state. 🙂
Regarding Africa and other places: greed, avarice, and other vices among people have not been canceled by anyone… to my deep regret.

    • You are looking at him right now. Can I ask you a counter-question, Numen: has no teacher ever told you what’s wrong with human form? And why is it being discarded?

        • ………………what’s wrong with it? Well, look in the mirror, take a good look at yourself. Do you like it/dislike it? Is everything all right? Open your mouth, take a look inside. Open a reference book on human biology – see how this body is arranged inside. What is the ecology of this form – way of life. Conditions of existence. How does it live, reproduce, exist, what principles does it follow? What relationships does it have with other beings? Does this correspond to your dream of the ideal way of life? Does your own psycho-matrix correspond to this form? (All the answers are on the surface.)

          • Psycho-matrix, good phrase. From the Greek word psychē – Soul, breath)) I need to connect the pieces in my head somehow.

          • A person is a universal material. Depending on living conditions, we can adapt to any conditions and change forms. We can both fly and live underwater. It’s all a matter of time, although the ability to transform hasn’t been canceled.

  4. Regarding disidentification. This can be done with flows, but not with form. Flows can be increased by increasing contact with forces and raising awareness.

  5. Although I expressed the thought a bit incorrectly. The form can indeed be changed. If anyone has read Pelevin’s book ‘The Sacred Book of the Werewolf’, which describes the life of a fox-human… I communicated with such a fox-person. His age is 1785 years, and he has been in one body. Tavita will probably say again that I am a storyteller… 🙂

    • The form can be changed. – I agree. Moreover, all people and magicians experience and observe a continuous change of their Form in dynamics……… A child grows up, an adult ages. A healthy person falls ill. A sick person recovers. – this is all Change of Form…………………… ‘If a being succeeds in bringing its form closer to its matrix’ – it is interesting, does the Matrix also age, grow old? In other words, is the Matrix a dynamically programmed process or a static unchanging Ideal Form?

  6. What is meant by ‘human form’ and how does it differ from ‘human matrix’, let us come to a common understanding of these words. Here it was suggested that form is the body. There is also a definition that ‘Human form is a certain adhesive force inherent in the human matrix that makes us human, human personalities, through the configuration of the emanations ignited by the light of consciousness in the position of the point of assembly corresponding to the first attention.’ For me, the human form is a tangible representation of the human matrix on the matrix of the physical world. The matrix of the physical world is the conditions (under which the representation (human form) changes), the human matrix is a kind of blueprint, a set of characteristics and capabilities. To exit the human matrix, it is first necessary to distinguish it from the matrix of the physical world, marking its capabilities and characteristics, thereby outlining its limits (beyond which one can exit). But there are two matrices – distinguishing oneself from the matrix of the physical world does not mean exiting it. One must outline the boundaries of the physical matrix (the limits of conditions) for their outlined human matrix. Thus, the image – PERFECT HUMAN 🙂

  7. All the time there is a problem with understanding due to definitions of words. Ah, why have people started building the Tower of Babel, now it’s not that different languages make it hard to understand each other, but even on one language it’s often difficult to understand each other 🙂 but this is probably a problem for all those who do not follow a single tradition. But that’s a digression. I have a question, what is the Archetype? For example, the archetype of the great mother is definitely a certain force that implies a multitude of images, forms, symbols of female goddesses in different religions and traditions. An archetype is not an Idea, it is much more alive, multifaceted, and harder to describe (outside of its images). People strive to immortalize themselves in a dead, dry idea, but what is more primary, the idea or the archetype? ‘… He appears in most cases as a light-emitting being, having a form completely analogous to that of a human…’ – I thought that was a soul. People glow after death (freshly departed), and then this glow disappears. Although saints continue to shine, apparently they have anchors in the form of a religious egregore.

    • By the way, I remember once dreaming of a village where all the houses and the clothing of the inhabitants were the same, but the inhabitants themselves were different. Some glowed, were cheerful, while others were grey and a black cloud was trailing behind them. I asked, ‘Why does a black cloud trail behind some, while others glow?’ ‘That’s their wealth, what they have accumulated throughout life,’ the answer sounded. ‘Not material, as you can see, there’s none of that here. It’s soul wealth. Look at that elderly man. Everything he has accumulated is anger, envy, and regrets. He exchanged and squandered soul wealth for what has no value here, for what decays and rots. Now decay and rot are his main treasure he carries with him. ‘And what has that radiant old lady, who gives out apples from her basket, accumulated?’ ‘Goodness and love.’ Whatever we give during life, our energy, returns to us after death. Although in the magical world it is customary to return everything to oneself before death.

    • Got it. The archetype is indeed the matrix (although the concept is more psychological). And the archetype of a person is nothing else but God, under whatever images they may hide – under the image of Jesus Christ in the Christian tradition or the crucified on the matrix of the world (the tree of the sephiroth) of Adam Kadmon in Kabbalah.

    • “But which is more original, the idea or the archetype?”
It needs to be explained, and one must understand the terms. (And that’s quite tedious..)
In short: Idea. If you look at the idea further, you can see the primary spectra of energies that it consists of..

An archetype in psychological understanding is a very secondary formation.

However, the Great Mother is not an archetype. 🙂 The Great Mothers really exist in the external Cosmos. 🙂

      • “If it needs to be explained, then it doesn’t need to be explained”. The issue is not that it’s boring, Theo, but that there is no inner knowledge to understand the essence of things. Or as someone would say to me – this is a problem of developing the higher chakras, ajna, sahasrara…

        • What? Boring, it’s boring. Don’t complicate it. It’s tedious to poke around in terms. When everything is clear anyway. And why, if everything here is still hardly applicable. And the schools of new demiurges on this planet are not foreseen. From Greek “idea”, it’s also “eidos” translates to “sight, appearance, form”. This already creates a contradiction in the term. The word “form” is also Greek. “Energy” is too. There was a word in Russian “obraz”. How energy was called – I don’t know. But form is already what has shape, that is form itself. The idea here is referred to as “matrix”. My brain is bursting. Therefore I call the Idea that Mold of Primary Energies. Which “lights up as a bulb”. It fits better to the sound of the word. Only they draw the bulb wrong on diagrams. The source of the bulb is not inside the system. Its source is outside the system. And if properly, then supporting this Idea is some living spirit. Guardians of Ideas is their name. As long as they are in action – the idea lives. From this “bulb” a matrix can already be unfolded, as a set of conscious meanings, for example. This I call a matrix, yes. The “ideal image” I either call “ideal image” :), or “prototype”, as assigning the idea a certain form. From some more general prototype, a specific image/form can be formed.

  8. En Merkar, greetings.
One of my directions of understanding is understanding the matrix. I would change the focus and propose the term “Structure” for understanding the matrix. One shouldn’t ascribe new meanings to standard constructions, and the Matrix is just the foundation, the framework, the skeleton. The matrix fully and in all respects enters the sphere of influence of the Natural Forces. This is our domain, since the purpose of creating any being, any matrix, is, first and foremost, a means of creating a vessel for energy development.
What this vessel will be like depends on living conditions.
Regarding ideas. Allow me to express my version:
first, according to the aggregate energies of consciousness, under the influence of the structure of the symbiosis of the being, an idea appears; then the idea acquires and forms a Structure (the structure or matrix) called Thought. And then, depending on the power invested in the thought, it begins to influence reality, embodying itself and creating a new reality.

  9. Excellent ideas. I would add that the idea is formed by consciousness from suitable blocks taken from information. After all, the primary purpose of human consciousness is precisely the ability to form these structures expressed in ideas.
