Life and Existence

The primordial biner lying at the foundation of the world’s manifestation — the biner of Being and Mind of the Great Spirit — is neutralized in the phenomenon called life.

Each individual monad manifests itself, like the Spirit, by moving its active mind from center to the periphery and by the synthetic ascent of its return to the center. The purpose of this process is the differentiation and actualization of certain potencies and their establishment within a harmonious, synarchic system of awareness. The instrument and primary source of this process is experience in the phenomenal world. Accordingly, each individual incarnation aims to actualize a particular set of potencies.

This very process constitutes the essence and content of life and is described as the Great Flow of Power — the transition of Power from an undifferentiated form of Being (the Power of Life) into a differentiated form of Awareness.

In other words, the measure of life’s effectiveness as a process of actualizing potencies is the degree of its awareness — that is, the degree to which consciousness recognizes its motives, its objects, and its driving forces.

At the same time, a highly effective mind is a “thing-in-itself” — self-contained and self-sufficient; it does not dissipate energy and so is not attractive to parasites and predators that feed on the life-energy dissipated by other beings.

Therefore these predators — among them the rulers of the Interworld, the Archons, and the Parasites of mind — teach the mind to behave ineffectively, and their chief strategy is to separate the poles of the Primordial biner — Being and Mind — thus preventing the biner’s neutralization.

Put differently, the being is trained to separate its Being and mind — most people feel a distinction between the “self” and their “actions.”

It is evident that this very separation is hidden, cast into shadow, so for a person’s “daytime” mind their personality appears identical to the sum of their actions; yet even the verbal form “I do” for most people implies a distinction between “I” and the “action.”

Such a division precludes the possibility of actualization: it leaves potentials unactualized, and for a person the state “I can” becomes a substitute for the state “I am.”

In such a condition freedom of choice is replaced by the illusion of alternative actions: “I can dig, or I can not dig,” and the actions themselves are perceived as external phenomena and often provoke bewilderment: “How could I have done that?”

The entire system of a person’s actions is built on the idea of the non-actualization of potencies: “I can” — and that is all. Actions are not underpinned by Being, and therefore do not actualize potencies. In all these processes one’s inner Being and content consistently remain isolated within themselves, and any whole here is merely a mechanical joining of parts rather than the unfolding of inner affinity, of inner harmony.

At the same time, for the Magus who is aware of this state of affairs, “I can” always means “I do,” and no ability remains unobserved or undeveloped.

This is summed up in the magical maxim: “Being is more important than knowing how,” from which follow such cornerstone ideas of the Magical myth as the importance of being a Magus rather than practicing Magic, the importance of control of actions rather than of the actions themselves, since control brings into the action the element of Being — mind — and action and Being mutually penetrate one another, and therefore existence is transformed into life.

From this same idea arises the notion of responsibility — that is, the acknowledgement of actions as one’s own, since that acknowledgement reflects the penetration of mind into Being. Need one say what an important bastion of irresponsibility is a central human myth: shifting the motives for actions onto “circumstances,” another’s will, and so on — in essence the removal from actions of the element of their awareness, and therefore the prevention of neutralizing the Primordial biner and a sharp reduction in the effectiveness of one’s manifestation.

Thus, the beginning, the content, and the justification of Magic is the cultivation of the awareness of one’s being — the necessary condition for the realization of the Monad’s potentials.

  1. It was said that there would be no direct instructions ;). Here, it is directly indicated how to merge the banner 🙂

  2. Thank you for the valuable article, Enmerkar!
Perhaps, the criterion for assessing the effectiveness and awareness of actions, in the context presented, can be the number of tasks postponed ‘for later’ that I could potentially do right now, but in reality, this potential is only realized at the last moment.

  3. I would like to clarify the concept of a consciousness that is closed in on itself. The thing is, I recently experienced something similar. I had the feeling that I had “stopped externally,” while internally I had closed the system on itself.
In this regard, a question arose: how will the system develop if it is closed in on itself? How will the increase in potentials occur in such a case?
    Thank you.

  4. Clarification. By increasing potentials, I mean the interaction with “foreign” energies and their assimilation. For example, during astral travel to other worlds, the foreignness of the energies is clearly felt. In such cases, how does consciousness describe new objects? How are blocks created, and on what basis? What criteria are used to classify this type of energy?
