The Magus’s Pure Land
“You must decide for yourself which methods to use in order to create the Buddha’s majestic realm. You must know what practices are required for this. You must attain the Buddha’s pure land”
The Great Sukhavativyuha Sutra
Taking on the role of creator in the course of any act of magical realization, the Magus moves into the mythical “first time”, the time of primordial creation, when from the original Unity the original duality of Creator and creation was separated.
Accordingly, a crucial stage of any Ritual is the establishment of the ritual space in which the creative act of the Ritual unfolds. As mentioned, this necessity is described by the Middle Part of the Great Arcana of realization magic.
Regardless of whether the Ritual in question is evocation or invocation, the delineation of a “pure land” on which the dominion of the Magus’s will (priest/theurgist) is absolute is essential for the proper support of the creative will.
The magic circle, the Temple (in both the religious and magical senses of the term), and magical territories are the components by which the Magus’s mind enables the Magus to enact creation and draw on the resources of the material plane.
The Magic of the Golden Dawn, as do many modern orders and schools, devotes considerable attention to the creation and consecration of the Temple precisely because the degree to which the physical space of the Ritual is properly constructed (both ritually and in terms of correspondence between the energies of practitioner and ritual) largely determines the success of constructing the metaphysical space, and thus the success of the work itself.
Similarly, grimoire literature is rich in descriptions of procedures for creating circles in which evocations are conducted, and “Enochian” magic begins with the making of the Table, which serves the same function.

In any case, the space in which ritual activity takes place must be cleansed and structured in accordance with the character of the power on which it relies.
At the same time, the very creation of a “pure land” does not necessarily mean filling the space with magical signs, pentacles, and sigils. In some cases, such structuring proves most effective; in others the space may be defined, for example, by specially arranged stones or planted vegetation; in a third case a simple symbolic delineation of a circle during the process of visualization may suffice.
However, regardless of the chosen method for constructing a “pure land”, the construction itself is the primary essential element of any realization.

Thank you, En Merkar, for the detailed description of the third step of the eight steps of the ritual. As always, it comes at the right time!
To be a leader of opinions. A person whom people will listen to – this lesson is not easy, either. There’s a queue of those eager to engage, even if their own life is not taken into account.
In my opinion, people who have done nothing in society themselves start to play in it through magic, trying to use it for achievements, using it as a mark, an easy way and a means of self-affirmation. This experience shows that all the goals we pursue, all the ways of existence – they are not real; this experience is probably impossible to write off or put on yourself without having achieved something and without having sat over a broken toy that does not give real joy. Although how to teach internal honesty when it is absent – for me, still a big question. After all, when it is present, a person learns on their own. With magic or at least something else.
It will be a somewhat mysterious post) we discussed a pure gaze, non-judgmental attitudes, allowing one dog to sit comfortably next to another and then smile at them, that it is of course good—to talk with people who accept you. And that with others, theoretically, it is no less good—just the chain of decoding a symbol can be long—instead of some common business, a person talks about their pain or we defend ourselves from something and see the broken mirror of our own… “No one wishes to offend anyone—everyone merely protects their wound”. There is a little free land in traveling—there it’s easier to be in the moment, fellow travelers are really just separate people and the conversations become more genuine. Why not live like this, that’s what I think.
All my turns towards meditations have a goal, unlike many meditative teachings, not to dissolve but to see everything. To become aware.
Also, there is a thought in my mind about that every feeling and thought of ours is an action. For example, it is said that love needs to be expressed. But it expresses itself in events—it has that property. It is clear that it is pleasant to do something—I like it; there is a sense in being born. But in my opinion, and by the most important count—love changes both the person and the circumstances. I have seen it. Although it can be difficult to give up active actions. At that moment, you feel the strength of feelings—as something from within jumps out and flies away. I learned this quite a long time ago when I was seeing off my brother to the army. That little red face, he was dressed in a bunny suit and ate candies; I know all his invented words from childhood and saw, for example, his bone when he cut his leg with a nail, and I covered it and said that it was just a scratch. And now he is being taken somewhere and will be beaten there. Moreover, he himself wants this, and even finds it necessary—this is how one grows. The whole situation led to a strange experience—to soar to an unknown place and realizing that just loving is the most important action.
“There is a little free land in traveling—there it’s easier to be in the moment, fellow travelers are really just separate people and the conversations become more genuine. Why not live like this, that’s what I think.”
There is a strange property of human psychology, very common – to deny the need for any movement when there is an illusion that everything is enough. Thus, the very state of a traveler is inherently strange and incomprehensible to most (Try approaching a group of young people and asking them to climb that mountain just for the impressions. I have tried repeatedly, and usually, after various ‘woohoo’, I climbed the mountain alone. 🙂 )
And actually living as if on a journey – in my opinion, is just right. I try to perceive everyone as travelers now. That their current state is not their last, even if they think otherwise.
“There’s a thought in my head that every feeling and thought of ours is an action.”
By the way – yes! Energy in thought, energy in feelings; it hasn’t reached reality, hasn’t been shown, but it has existed. Those who feel notice this.
I am again about relying on oneself:
one can say then that you yourself, the soul and the body – is your clean land.
Greetings to fellow travelers!
