Other Worlds
Although a birth in a given world is usually best suited to the tasks a being encounters in that incarnation, a being is not obliged to remain tied to its home world for its lifetime.
Both Magi and ordinary people, from time to time, cross the Threshold and enter worlds other than the human world. This happens in dreams, in exteriorizations, and through Portals.
In other words, the experience of being in other worlds is not extraordinary; it is part of ordinary life. Most people have this experience, and Magi often use it deliberately. Therefore, it is extremely important to understand the peculiarities of such a crossing, its possibilities and dangers.
The first thing to note is that any transition from one world to another must pass through the Interworld.
The time spent there depends on the traveler’s Power and on how distant the worlds being crossed are. But it is important to keep in mind that the concept of time is a characteristic of a world; in the Interworld, time flows unevenly and may even flow backwards. In other words, under certain conditions, a passage through the Interworld amounts, from an individual perspective, to a journey into the past. And this is not a romantic trip in a “time machine”; it means the Monad loses some realized potentials. This, in turn, signifies an evolutionary backslide and the necessity of tasks thought to have already been completed. Put differently, falling into such a temporal loop in the Interworld reduces a being’s awareness level and thus loses Power.
The second danger lurking in the Interworld is the instability of the Threshold’s fabric. Accordingly, Power can be stolen either by the Interworld’s Wind or by one of its predatory denizens.
But even after the Threshold is crossed and a new world enters the mind’s domain, the dangers do not end. On the contrary, they become more serious. The principal danger here is the loss of one’s form. Since the form of a being’s embodiment is part of the description of the world in which it is born, upon entering another world the being becomes a drop of one energy in an ocean of a different energy, and the force of diffusion begins to act upon it, much as ink gradually disperses in a glass of water. Everything here depends on two factors — first, the length of time spent in the other world, and second, the degree of attachment the mind has to the form of its embodiment. For ordinary people, this danger most often does not play a major role because usually the Power of the Rift pushes them back home before diffusion can do serious harm. For Magi who make crossings consciously, however, it should be borne in mind that the time spent in another world always costs a lot of Power. Moreover, an important condition for survival in another world is the mind’s flexibility, its independence from its embodied form.
And finally, it must be remembered that after staying in another world one still must face the return crossing of the Interworld, with all its dangers. Even in the case of passing through a direct portal (which shortens time in the Interworld to a minimum), one must remember that one has to find their way back to the portal, and that a portal is not necessarily two-way: it may be one-way, or it may open into another world.
Therefore, I would like to warn novice Magi against an infatuation with “astral journeys” without thorough magical preparation. Only with colossal luck (Hamingja) can a novice travel between worlds unharmed, and even then luck may fail him, and he may become a predator’s prey.
There is no glory in becoming someone’s prey; true bravery lies in following one’s Way.

Dear Enmerkar.
What is, in principle, the meaning of visiting these other worlds? Does it give anything other than satisfying curiosity and, for some, ambition?
As I understand it, the costs are enormous, the risks are high. What, besides a spike of adrenaline in the blood, can make this necessary?
Sometimes it may be necessary to gain special knowledge that is easier to find in another world, sometimes to acquire a Power object, etc.
Thank you. Another question. Given that time in the Betweenworlds flows unevenly and even not in one direction. Is it possible, when passing through the Betweenworlds, to enter a flow of time directed into the future and thus acquire some potential realized in the future (i.e., to acquire some additional awareness in this way)?
Theoretically – yes, but even then, they will still have to be realized.
I assure you from my more than 15 years of experience, the evolutionary rollback from astral presence in any other world poses no threat to anyone, nor does disembodiment, dissolution, and so on. Unless, of course, you are a single-celled being with a consciousness unable to withstand the energy of the world in which it finds itself. Therefore, it is unnecessary to exaggerate the dangers for ‘green novices’, this is certainly a useful warning. You are not threatened if your essence/body/power is not wanted to be devoured by the inhabitants of another world (or if the essence of the world’s energy itself doesn’t) and if you yourself allow them to do so, do not defend yourself, and allow them to attach to you, penetrate, absorb, etc. In all other cases, traveling provides development and experience, knowledge, training in cults and schools, gaining additional powers and energies unavailable to the inhabitants of the Earth, acquaintance with other histories, traditions, and cultures, a better understanding of the entire universe as a whole – if one uses all this while being aware of what they are doing, and most importantly, for what purposes and in what proportions of costs and goals, with such an approach one can easily travel on two or three paths simultaneously in several worlds, gaining a richer, expansive experience and knowledge. Of course, for some, this won’t fit into their understanding of reality and will be inaccessible, while for others it will be the most acceptable and effective for their level of development.
“It’s not a threat if not…” – that’s the same as “It’s a threat if…” 🙂
Undoubtedly, journeys through the Betweenworlds are dangerous in many ways. However, a magician who wishes to escape the gilu and reach ‘cosmic-scale perspectives’, as stated in the article ‘Guardians of the Betweenworlds’, will have to pass through it after death. Therefore, perhaps magicians with such goals should, on the contrary, intensively practice exteriorization to avoid turning into an elementar? Should they seek out ‘knowledge of the paths that can be traversed through the Betweenworlds’ in advance?
Of course, this is exactly how magicians act.
Sure, here’s the translation to English:
“Yes, please provide a reference. First: as I understand it, the discussion about the in-between and travels is only regarding astral transition? Then the question is: do you consider it possible to transition in a physical body, even with a loss of spatial orientation and the ink spot dissolving in a glass of water? Second: there was a question about gaining experience and curiosity during the transition. Then question number two: why not stay where you arrived, why is it necessary to return here? And question number three: how can one learn to feel the location of the portal, and is it necessary to travel in a group? I understand that it is safer that way, but, you still have to find people willing to engage in such experiments. So far, I’ve only managed to find one other person besides myself.”
Yes, it is possible to transition to the Between Worlds in the full embodiment of one’s being. However, “staying” there is very difficult, as it requires constant energy expenditure, and there is no need to do so since development is impossible there. The place of transition can indeed be found and felt; for this, one needs to cultivate the ability to discern forces and their vectors within oneself.
How to cultivate the ability to discern forces and their vectors within oneself.
Here’s the translation to English:
Here’s another question: Do you believe that there are only worlds different from those inhabited by people? And do you think it’s possible for people from different worlds to communicate? You know so much about transitions that it begs the question of whether you have personally crossed the boundary. Now, regarding the cultivation and development of vector feelings, I want to ask: how can I learn to distinguish them and understand what each vector is pointing to if I have nothing to compare it with? For example, I dip my hand in water and understand that this is water. If I lived in places where there is no water, let’s say in such a scenario, I would never learn to understand that water is wet, that it has a different structure. It turns out that I could simply walk past such a point of thinning the boundary and not notice it, if I didn’t know that this particular sensation is what’s needed for the job. By the way, it’s interesting, but I already knew about the classification of portals and transitions seven years ago, even though back then I had no idea about you or that such information as is published here could someday be easily accessible. I then thought that every magician knew what I knew, but later I realized the opposite. My knowledge came to me through ordinary situations, literary books, and dreams, but now I read your blog and understand that in fact, I had to learn all of this, and learn it differently. I feel quite lost…
Could you please tell me, is there power in other worlds? After all, you said that other worlds were created due to the impossibility of realizing desires in the current world, but it must happen. So, is there power in other worlds? More precisely, its bearers?
The same magical people of faeries have left to the inter-world, elementals, and so on; they must possess power, right? They can influence our world, so there is power in the inter-world, given that there are its bearers? Or am I missing something…
Enmerkar, tell me, should we regard recurring dreams as a requirement for re-solving a past conflict?
I think a recurring dream is more likely a testimony to a problem that requires resolution.
I have a question about dreams, and if possible, please advise. Are journeys possible within a dream, rather than through conscious exit into astral? That is, unconscious in the process itself. I’m not talking about prophetic dreams, or symbolic dreams, dreams with hints and clues which, as a rule, are realized upon awakening as fact. But about the presence in a dream of a strange process, places, worlds, even times, with very reasonable circumstances, reasonable actions, interconnections, roles, reactions to your actions, and most importantly, a feeling of signification of the process and its participants within oneself, rather than for the person directly, although at some moments along the way, there is an observable change in form with a change in meaning in actions, for instance, at a specifically distinguished object. With no awakening consciousness in the dream. Or is this just some kind of subconscious aberrations of meaningless flow, distortions of processed information and always just fantasy?
