What is the key to deciphering names? In your video lecture, you suggest deciphering the tasks for consciousness given in each of the arits. For example, the Keeper of the first arit is ‘Face down, from any forms’; the task is not to turn away from other people?
For example, the name of the Gatekeeper Sahth-hri-asht-aru (sxd-Hr, aSA-jr.w) can be translated as ‘With a face down, he who has many images.’ ‘Face down’ means attention to the earth, that is – to the foundation; ‘Many images’ – means variability of manifestation. Thus, the First Arit is the ability to see a single foundation in many manifestations, the ability to understand that the same principle or idea can manifest in many specific forms. Of course, such understanding is very important for the mutable space of Duat.
Thank you for the explanation! The translation from the book of Baj ‘The Egyptian Book of the Dead’ is incorrect, as I understand it. It states: ‘The First Arit. The name of the keeper of the door is Sehehdheri-ashetiru [Face down: from any forms]; the name of the guard is Metikhekh (?); the name of the herald is Haheru [With a loud voice].’ Another arit is not translated. We need to find a proper translation.
