Faery Magic

We have repeatedly noted many cultures share the belief that, alongside “ordinary” humanity, there exists in our world a pre-human people that lives longer and possesses deeper knowledge of the world, its structure, the principles of how it functions, and ways to govern it.

The inhabitants of Britain knew a great deal about these people, calling them Faery, and the peoples of the Near East called them Djinn.

Just as humans — children of the Aesir and the Vanir — are grounded primarily in the principle of Intelligence and in the principle of Feeling, respectively, so the Faery belong predominantly to the principle of Will.

That is why magic is in their nature. All that humans achieve by balancing their dominant binary principle is given to the Faery from birth.

And it was precisely this feature that proved both a blessing and a curse for Tilvit Teg.

The magic folk are devoid of love and think illogically, yet they play with the world as a child plays with a rattle.

The “younger” humanity has always watched its elder brethren with envy and apprehension — for the forces subject to the Faery, especially their higher orders (whom the Brits called Sidhe and the Arabs Ifrits), held sway over the human world.

Nevertheless, humans possess what makes the Faery envious — the soul, capable of love and self-sacrifice.

Moreover, it is precisely the imbalance inherent in human nature that places the “younger humanity” on that threshold between Heaven and Earth where it can attain higher forms of realization. One might say that, although the Faery perceive the world more clearly, on the whole, they are denied states of complete enlightenment.

The Faery are incapable of such a state because, being neutral by nature, they are not accustomed to balancing, and they easily fall under the sway of Ascending and Descending currents. The Faery are, from the outset, above good and evil; accepting them as given and not accustomed to seeking them, the magic folk are easily drawn into the streams of angelic or demonic energy, although they do so more from curiosity than compulsion. That is why both friendliness and hostility are expressed more sharply in them than in humans, and why Tilvit Teg are divided into the Blessed and Unblessed courts. Nevertheless, Faery are almost never possessed; they keep their energy intact, and even when they choose a path of light or darkness, they do so of their own free will.

At the same time, the Faery’s innate balance makes them poor prey for both demons — very rarely do demons succeed in seizing Faery life-force — and for angels — the Faery very rarely enter contests for the Stream of Power.

This, in turn, means that, standing outside the Vertical Currents, the Faery can manipulate only the horizontal ones. And herein lies the key distinction between Faery Magic and human magic.

Faery do not know how (and consider it beneath them) to command ministering spirits, but they effortlessly manipulate the elemental spirits. They readily open and stabilize portals and tunnels through different levels of the cosmos and can influence plant growth, mineral formation and animal behavior.

Incidentally, for the same reason neither the Faery nor their progenitors — the Alvs and the Grigori — take part in the Last Battle; Ragnarök does not seem to trouble them.

Overall, Faery magic is a set of technologies rooted deeply in nature and a worldview that can appear, to an outside observer, either creative or destructive, but is always embedded within the global process. Even when the Faery distort space or create illusions, their true aim is to sustain certain large-scale processes, not merely to help or bedevil an individual magus or a lost farmer. The well-known pranks of the Faery are a way of creating stressful situations in which knots or deadlocks that hinder the free flow of energy are untied.

Among modern pagan magi there is a strong desire to interact with Tilvit Teg (or the Djinn), often tinged with selfish motives.

Nevertheless, it is crucial to understand the key differences that create an almost insurmountable chasm between the minds of humans and those of the magic peoples; once this is grasped, it becomes clear how futile such an aspiration is.

  1. Do Fairies live in this world, in the so-called Subtle planes? Can “seers” see them? Who has their third eye working?

    • Fairies lived in our world, in our plane. But starting from the 4th century AD, there was a so-called “Great Migration” of Fairies to Between-world, which was completed around the 10-11 century. And now they rarely appear to us, even though this world belongs to them no less than ours.

  2. Are there among people (those who resemble fairies in appearance, magical abilities, or other parameters) still “relatives” of fairies? Are there people who have been fairies in past incarnations?

  3. “… balancing my prevailing element of fire” – how to achieve this? I am a person of the Fire element. The opposite element is Water. Do I need to somehow isolate their qualities and develop the qualities of the opposite element within myself?

    • Yes, if you want to achieve realizations, you need to learn to achieve balance. The main thing is not to confuse balancing with neutralizing.

  4. I’m sorry, I don’t quite understand the difference between balancing and neutralizing in this specific case. Please advise.

    • Neutralization is the mutual cessation of movement of opposing flows; balancing is a state when the intensities of opposing flows are equal. In both cases, the result is a lack of total movement, but in the first case it means a complete lack of movement, while in the second – only an absence of one-sided manifestations.

  5. Please tell me, Enmerkar, in some text, it was mentioned that non-humans can be born in a human body. Now, tell me something very interesting: if someone dreams that they are a sharp-eared beauty with wings and ends up in a wonderful place in their dreams, the sensations of which are bliss compared to ordinary life, communicating with other elves, feeling them as their own, which cannot be said of people outside the dream, discovering those elven “qualities” within themselves that they read about, feeling a great power within, but cannot fully use, as if figuratively speaking, there is some kind of “knot” in them, untangling which all possibilities and degrees of awareness will be attained, although relatively much can already be done, but “tied” possibilities are breaking free. I even saw a book called “The Road to the Unicorn,” in which such individuals are described, and everything that is written about them is recognized, and in general, all this is known, understood, just pleasant to read like this… so, you mentioned those who have elven blood, I really hope you know and could elaborate on how to fully master my power and please shed more light on the topic of elves.

  6. As if some energy moves through the body, changing its forms, but can’t connect with the outside world, cannot accept the necessary form, enter into the proper interaction, and cannot fully comprehend this phenomenon. Although, over time, I manage to learn more with years of magic practice, but still at a snail’s pace. I want to know how to correctly direct this and what it is.

    • Higher fairies (Sidh) can consciously interrupt their incarnation and be born in human form. Despite the fact that fairies lack a soul and each incarnation has a meaning different from human, some of them can indeed reverse their disembodiment and be born again. Why this happens is a non-trivial question; in different cases, the reasons are different. When born in human form, any being accepts the rules of the human world, and the differences in energies only add certain nuances to their development. In particular, a fairy born as a human cannot practice fairy magic but must practice human magic, albeit with a fairy nuance.

  7. Oh, I completely forgot, in conversations with elves, they mentioned that such reincarnation happens so that elves gain immunity from some nastiness that people committed, they are all well-known, I won’t describe them, and reincarnation into human bodies is a circumvention maneuver; they mentioned that afterwards elves will not only be internally themselves. And I need to realize something… I really hope that my messages will be taken from a constructive perspective and will shed more light on this question!)

  8. What exactly is this nuance and what specifically is the difference in these magics? Is it about commanding spirits, summoning them and directing them… what’s the difference? I feel a lot, but only a very small part is accessible to me. Hardly won back.

    • For Fairy Magic, controlling Servant spirits is not very characteristic; their spirit is inherently freer (see in the post).

  9. And if the goal of a fairy’s incarnation in a human body is to realize something, what could that be? (Well, it might not be the goal of incarnation, but it could open up fairy’s abilities).

    • The abilities of fairies in fairy form are much greater than in human form. And regarding awareness – the main thing that a fairy can realize when born in human form is the meaning of passion. Humans are the most passionate of all beings.

  10. What is the phenomenon when, during an attempt to take control of the energetic structure of something, instead of what should happen, a model of this structure is created in consciousness, setting up on this model and forming thought forms that are sent to the target; meanwhile, the effect is much weaker than what I could achieve by conventional means, tuning into the very object (situation, item, spirit) is much more difficult (except for spirits) and fully tuning in (as much as I can) does not succeed, as if in a circular labyrinth the guiding energy goes and returns to the source, what is this? And because of this, the direct influence is much weaker than possible.

  11. Dear Enmerkar, a very strange girl asked me to inquire — how possible is it for these ancient peoples to physically come into our world and have connections with human women? (In her village, there’s a somewhat forgotten legend about a tribe that once visited them, calling themselves either Alfhis or Alfhis, and ended up leaving many descendants in the area.) I’ve asked many practitioners, and many said that such things haven’t happened for thousands of years.

The girl herself has a very distinctive appearance (slightly pointed, protruding ears, almond-shaped eyes, a sharp chin), and her skin cannot tolerate steel or iron jewelry. Apparently, she has quite a considerable talent for magic. For some reason, she is unable to conceive a child with a human. I myself am somewhat skeptical about this, but I’ve seen a few things, and she really asked for this matter to be explored. And you are the only one who might have some knowledge on this subject.

    • A sharp chin and ears are characteristics of children born prematurely. And why can’t she give birth? What is the medical diagnosis? Is the uterus absent?

  12. Good afternoon. Tell me, if they coexisted for a long time in the manifested reality of our world, engaged in some activity, and died, there must have been some physical traces left behind – graves, bones, ruins? Is there a possibility for humanity to discover them?

    • Hello! Well, concerning bones – the body of fairies is not structured like that of humans, and after death it disintegrates, dissolving without leaving remains. As for ruins – there are plenty of them, including dolmens and rows of hills, like the famous Newgrange, and so on.

      • Does this mean that most similar, unusual ruins by our standards, like Gobekli Tepe, can be attributed to the creations of fairies? Can we somehow distinguish between the creations of fairies and humans? Can a mage use these ruins in their practice or do they only carry historical value?

        • In the early stages of humanity’s development, people and fairies interacted very closely, so indeed many megalithic structures are the product of such “joint” creativity, or fairy constructions that were occupied and adapted for their needs by humans. This connection can be utilized in practice if we want to establish a connection with fairies or simply learn more about them.

          • Thank you very much! Sorry for slightly derailing the topic, but I am very interested in the nature of creativity. We cannot consider most poets, writers, musicians, or game creators as mages in the classical sense of the word. Nevertheless, sometimes even in lowbrow, entertaining literature, there appear thoughts that strongly intersect with magical practice, reading which you do not understand how such a deep and significant piece ended up in this text. What is this – some special nature of creative individuals who draw information from the noosphere? Or hints from some entities? How does it happen that the myths of different peoples are so closely intertwined in essence?

          • Of course, intuition, inspiration, creative insights are the highest manifestations of consciousness that lead it out of the narrow confines of a causal-perceptual description of the world. However, Magic is not just a “perception” of what is usually hidden; it is the readiness and ability to operate in these additional aspects of perception. This is what distinguishes magicians from philosophers and artists – the striving and ability to actively interact with reality in the maximum available width and depth.
