The Magus’ Way
The strange word “Magic”… In some it inspires fear, in others aggression, in others still it exerts a mysterious pull… And among those who are drawn to it, we also find people who are very different from one another…
Such a variety of reactions is obviously connected to the variety of ways this word’s meaning is interpreted. To begin, let us try to clarify the terminology.
The essence of all definitions of magic was briefly and succinctly summarized by A. Crowley: “Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will”…
Aleister Crowley
(12 October 1875 — 1 December 1947)
Will is the potential vector of the world‑process. That is, it describes the direction of movement of the world‑process that has not yet taken place, and may take place — or may remain merely potential. Shifting this vector from a potential state into an actual one is the realization of will. Since the world‑process is acted upon by many wills of differing strength, it (this process) is in essence a constant struggle of potentialities that seek to manifest.
What does it mean to bring reality into conformity with the will? A person who wants to walk along a clean street takes a broom and sweeps it — does this person perform a magical act? Yes. A person who wants to get to another city gets on a train and arrives there — also; as does the one who, wanting to eat, goes to the store and buys food. But why do these actions not appear magical to ordinary consciousness? Because the methods of realizing the will in these examples are low in efficiency and available to everyone. And it is clear that the more essential, fundamental difference lies precisely in the low effectiveness of the realization of will, even though, in everyday thinking, it is their general accessibility that makes these actions seem “non‑magical.”
Let us not for now discuss why everything widely accessible does not appear magical, and instead speak about effectiveness. It is clear that the effectiveness of any action is determined by the ratio between the forces spent on performing it and the result achieved. Everyday methods of realizing the will, though magical in the broad sense of the word, allow one to achieve a result only at the cost of spending an unreasonably large amount of force. In other words, the more effectively the will is realized, the more magical its realization.
Let us return to our examples. Suppose a person wants to get to another city. They have several possibilities for realizing this desire — for instance, to go by car, by train, or to fly by plane. Which of these ways will be the most magical? The answer to this question is far from obvious.
To approach it, we must try to understand what we mean when we speak of “forces expended on realization.”
It is well known that force is the ability of a body to perform work. From the perspective of our discussion, force is a person’s capacity to realize their Will. That is, the more a person lives in accordance with their own Will, the more force they possess. I would like to draw attention to the fact that Will is always individual; thus the key word in the last sentence is “own,” because by realizing someone else’s will a person becomes weaker, not stronger (unless that other will coincides with their own).
Now let us again return to the example. In which case will a person be maximally independent? In the case of traveling on foot — if there are no additional factors influencing the realization, such as illness, time constraints, and so forth; that is, in a simplified ideal case. But if limiting factors come into play, then a trip by train or a flight may prove more effective.
Even from this example it is clear how important it is to avoid interfering factors, to minimize their number, for it is precisely maximal independence that means maximal force. This is why the most magical way of moving is considered to be teleportation, which allows one to traverse space instantaneously — whether healthy, one‑legged, or legless…
Since in our lives we continuously pass from the realization of one desire to the realization of another, at each particular moment the effectiveness of actions — and therefore their magical nature — changes. Hence, one cannot “do” magic as an occasional activity; one can only be a Magus.

Thus, the more effectively a person acts, the more magical their life becomes. Over millennia, countless ways have been developed to increase the effectiveness of realizing one’s Will. It is precisely this set of methods, often lacking strict systematization, that is usually called magic. As a thoroughly practical field, magic is not always interested in the ideological foundations and mechanisms of its approaches; for it, the main thing is their success. In addition, each practitioner of magic may assemble a set of methods that are completely heterogeneous both in essence and in origin. This moves the magical tradition beyond all other traditions — religious, philosophical — in which, as we know, “it’s wrong to mix cinema, shit, and dominoes” into one heap. Whereas a successful magical ritual can indeed combine ancient Egyptian elements with ancient Chinese ones; the main thing is that such a combination harmonizes with the operator’s worldview.

Still, there are certain limitations. First, as we have mentioned, the most important condition for the effectiveness of magical approaches is their correspondence to the inner organization of the operator. Magic is always personal magic. Second, by combining practical elements from heterogeneous traditions, the Magus must attempt to synthesize their ideas as well; otherwise, without a stable (even if unusual) mental foundation, magical realization risks losing direction and returning like a boomerang, injuring or even destroying its creator.
For all their diversity, magical approaches group themselves into two fundamentally different currents: evocational magic and invocational magic. This distinction is not accidental: as usual, any system exists as a pair of polarities — a biner.
Evocational magic is a set of methods for achieving the realization of one’s Will by attracting forces whose vectors are collinear and comparable in magnitude to the vector of the desire being realized. In this case, realization is achieved by forcibly attaching the vector of desire to the vector of the force being used. In other words, an external force is compelled to fulfill the operator’s desire. This current is characterized by a high effectiveness of realizations, but also by significant narrowness, as well as a strict dependence of the result on the correct performance of the operation (ritual).
Invocation
Invocational magic operates with forces whose vectors are not collinear with the vector of the operator’s Will. At the same time, the operator understands that the result of such interaction will be a realization that represents the vector sum of their Will and the will with which they interact. This current does not possess the same inevitability of realizations as the previous one; however, the results achieved within it are far more fundamental and free from possible side effects.
And here we approach yet another fundamental concept — the concept of the Path. So that life not be chaos (and chaos is inevitably accompanied by the scattering of energy, that is, it leads to death), it is necessary that its separate elements be grouped around a certain axis of meaning, forming as harmonious a system as possible. Then not only a person’s qualities, but also their actions become ordered, acquiring the property of coherence. With such an organization, each step entails the next, and so on. Life then turns from a mere transition from day to day into a journey — a Quest.
Strictly speaking, it is impossible to rank paths as more or less effective in an absolute sense: each path is maximally effective for some, and entirely ineffective for others. Therefore the most important thing for a full life is the right choice of Path.

And in order to choose a Path, one must try to feel it, and understand whether it is truly one’s own. Moreover, one’s own Path is by no means always the easiest or most pleasant. Yet it is still one’s own — the Path on which you cannot but walk and still remain yourself…
Now we are ready to begin speaking of one of the Paths that is no better and no worse than others, but which for someone may become THEIR OWN PATH — the Path of the Volkhv.
It is well known that in ancient times the word Volkhv referred to pagan priests of the ancient Slavs, and later this word came to denote magi, seers, and sorcerers in general.
It is precisely Paganism which, unlike monotheistic religions, is not founded upon a “revelation” once given to someone, but instead affirms the primacy of personal Will and personal experience, that can become a fertile ground for magic, which is likewise always deeply personal and individual. Magic does not recognize any mediation between the human being and the Power; it does not recognize the unverifiable authority of “scriptures”; it places above all the individual Path of the individual person. At the same time, this does not mean that the Magus’s experience is purely personal, for in that case there would be no criterion for distinguishing fantasies and mental disorders from the Breath of Power. The Magus’s experience is reinforced by Tradition — the collective experience of fellow travelers who have faced the same problems and developed ways of overcoming them.
Let us say at once that for now we will not speak about the letter of the Slavic pagan Tradition, but only about its inner content, its spirit. Of course, many will be found who wish to bind the spirit of the Path of the Volkhvs once and for all to its factual content, and that path also exists. But that is not what we are speaking of here.
So, let us call the Path of the Volkhv the Path of Invocational Magic oriented toward interaction with the Spirits of Nature.

Let us try to unpack this definition. We have already spoken about what Invocational Magic is — it is a set of approaches to increasing the effectiveness of life (in other words, to accumulating Power) that are based on non‑violent interaction with vectors of force (usually of a personal nature). Now let us speak of Nature and its Spirits.
Druid
First, let us clarify what the Volkhvs call Nature. The word itself (in Russian) points to Something that is “with the Rod” — with the Creative Source of the Universe. That is, everything that is manifested but does not possess Creative Activity is summed up in the concept of “Nature.”
We have already mentioned that any closed system exists as a pair of polarities, and, of course, Nature requires a complementary Organizing Principle. Since in the system of the universe Passivity is by its essence homogeneous, while Activity is differentiated (we shall later attempt to understand why this is so), the principle that ensouls Nature exists as a complex and diverse hierarchy of agents. It is precisely such agents that the Volkhvs call the Spirits of Nature.

Later we will speak in more detail about the components of the Path of the Volkhv, and perhaps there will be those who can draw from its source Power and Inspiration.

How to distinguish a true wizard from a fraud? How to connect with true ones in Kyiv?
I’m not sure that if you are a sorcerer, you are immediately a mage, and even if you are a mage, you are automatically master of your will. It seems to me that a sorcerer is the vector that moves the will of Nature, Its forces. Here it’s a different situation: the sorcerer, his will, and the will of the Natural forces are one and indivisible. Thus, sorcerers are somewhat few, just as Mother Nature is somewhat scant these days, the time of the ball of ‘created’ matter with all the resulting consequences, which a keen-eyed observer sees every day.
Valentina’s comment is just super!
I take my hat off! The path is harder to describe than to traverse!
Is the sorcerer internally filled or empty? That is, is the sorcerer a hole into infinity or an independent infinity?
Infinity is infinity; infinity is independent, but also universal, and the sorcerer, respectively, is maximally full but at the same time completely empty.
How it happens: a person (mostly young) unconsciously strives, seeks, builds strength in the form of (physical strength, acquiring a home, means of transportation, saving money which is a ‘tool of power’, gaining life experience), in general, wins small battles with life, achieves the goals they set, finds a TEACHER, who will help in the process of self-awareness, and see – ‘how does he do all this?’ At this point, the understanding of what MAGIC is has already been present; by this time, the person observes that the result depends on the application of effort, and the very EFFORT of striving depends on willpower and how this subtly material substance is studied through the paths of MAGICIANS, and the very LEARNING, without changing oneself, and not altering one’s path, increases freedom and multiplies one’s POWER. By this point, you see that you are a MAGICIAN, mostly victorious in life; if not… Cleanse yourself (‘PURIFICATION’), gather your goals (‘GOAL SETTING’), concentrate your WILL POWER at the tip, do not look back, act, do not pity yourself, KILL LAZINESS IN YOURSELF, Becoming a MAGICIAN is YOUR PATH.
Judging by what I found online about ancient Slavs and their culture, not everyone can become a volkhv. Everyone has their own destiny, and following someone else’s path is very wrong.
The fundamentals of magic can be understood and applied by most. Particularly, this is important for protecting one’s psycho-emotional contour, working with one’s desires, etc.
It is impossible to judge someone else’s paths; that’s the cherry on top. It is possible to become a tiler or an electrician and lay the tiles and illuminate the road down the path walked. And at the beginning of the path, there is a sign “Road Exclusive.” Alas, one problem: “Tutte le strande partono da Roma.”
Nature is everything that is manifested and possesses Creative Activity, only its organizing level is different.
Wonderful article. Thank you.
Quote: “By fulfilling another’s will, a person becomes weaker, not stronger.”
The question arose: does the one who “dictates” their will to others become stronger if others fulfill their will?
Absolutely not. The fulfillment of someone’s will also weakens the one whose will is being fulfilled because the cycle of realization must be closed – from the manifestation of the primary impulse to the appearance of the final result. Any element falling out or being substituted makes the cycle “leaky,” and Power does not appear there.
Thank you very much for the answer, though I didn’t fully understand, in the sense of realized 🙂
At first, I thought the task was to “build the pyramid” and the further your will extends, the stronger you become. But it seems that everything must be done by oneself?
Does the hierarchical structure fit here?
One can give an example of a schoolchild solving a math problem. If one schoolchild made another solve a math problem, who benefited? No one! The first did not solve it – did not understand, did not grasp. The second did someone else’s problem, which was unnecessary for him in his curriculum. Often, it is not the final result that matters, but the Spirit’s understanding of cause-and-effect relationships.
I just want to say in conclusion that if you know about Kalagia, passed on to people by the sorcerer Naumkin, and use it as a source of information, then you know what you are doing and will be held accountable for all distortions and misinformation accordingly. And the consequences can be quite severe, considering that this is the Teaching of the Demiurges of the Triune Universe, where one should not even change punctuation marks or lowercase letters to uppercase. If you somehow do not know about Kalagia, which is quite strange considering that the book was published over 20 years ago, then you have now learned about it. And you can fully familiarize yourself with it and figure out why your information contradicts it in several points. No one is stopping you from contacting Naumkin himself. So he can explain to you what problems may arise. Because your blog contains whole chunks from which it seems that they are freely rewritten from Kalagia. At the same time, other parts of this blog are in extreme contradiction with this teaching or distort vectors and inadvertently misinform. It’s your personal business how you will act in this situation. I only needed to convey these facts to your attention. So that later you do not say that no one informed you. In the event that you ignore this. My attitude towards you is neutral. But with sympathy. I do not want to believe that people like you create conscious and purposeful evil. Although that is quite possible. I wish you all the best.
Crowley is a Mason. Founder of the lodge. How can the path of a sorcerer be combined with Freemasonry? The answer is unequivocal. No way. Moreover, Western magic is typically Freemasonry. However, all these samurai paths originate from the same places. That is, structured organizations where everyone is interconnected and cannot escape. Their only consolation is that they allegedly rule the world. They bring reality in accordance with the will of the operators. People, in their understanding, are puppets. The only way to not deal with them is to simply ignore them. But then you must also ignore the magic they practice. Otherwise, one will resonate with them and sooner or later get burned. Or will just be their lackey. Moreover, for the most part, people become lackeys unconsciously. In the overwhelming majority of cases, a person has no idea whom they are working for. That is, one can be a pawn in Freemasonry, even having never heard of the existence of Freemasonry. And if a person speculates about magic and does not mention Freemasonry, it means that they have long been hooked by them. If they spoke about it, then there would be a chance that it is not so. Sorcerers cannot be Masons. And Masons cannot be sorcerers. There are different individuals who practice magic and consider themselves free. At the same time, they never talk about Freemasonry, carefully avoiding these topics. They also do not talk about politics, ecology, economics, mass media, show business, etc. This means they are under a Masonic umbrella. And perform certain tasks that Masons have implanted in them. Because all these topics are taboo for them. Since Masons consider people profane and converse with them on topics that are as far removed as possible from questions of management. Thus, Freemasonry can be identified not by what a person talks about, but by what topics they avoid. And your situation in this case is not great.:) In general, Masons have been trying to destroy these sorcerers for a very long time. Which they have practically succeeded in doing. Although there are very good people among Masons. Usually, a person has no other options. As the Cardinal said in the movie about the Musketeers: Now he will watch over his own wife VOLUNTARILY.:)
Masons also use mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Good magicians (sorcerers) should refuse to use these sciences for this reason now. Probably not. It’s the same with magic – these are knowledge-tools. And what purposes a person will use them for is their personal right and responsibility. Strictly speaking, Crowley is not a sorcerer but a magician, although there is much to learn from him. Enmerkar is great – he describes basic things in simple words that usually occupy dozens of pages in books!
Robert Anton Wilson began by writing the Illuminatus trilogy. Only afterward came Quantum Psychology etc. Meanwhile, he regarded Crowley as one of the greatest people of modern times. That is, he could afford not to concentrate on his Freemasonry, but to look deeper and further. Had he simply ignored the Masonic theme or, so to speak, overlooked it, Quantum Psychology would either not have arisen or its price would have been worthless. The same can be said of Timothy Leary, Philip Dick with the Valis trilogy, and many others, including the aforementioned Naumkin. Because ordinary people, who remain in Frequency Prison, cannot seriously utilize the information intended for the freed. The Masonic theme serves as a litmus test. Those who bend before it lose real opportunities to change things substantively. And replace actions with various hypotheses about who is to blame and which path is right. As for Russia, this is a national trait. It is not indigos who have been genetically modified. It is “earthlings” who have been genetically modified. Millennia of slavery and being in this prison are etched in cells and genes. Hence the attention to some Grays. There must be someone worse to somehow respect oneself? And that someone thus emerges. The center is located anywhere but at home. In America, in Europe. The main thing is not in us. During the Führer’s era, the center was in the Alps. It is not excluded that it is still there. But equally it is in Moscow, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. The impossibility of accepting this as a mere fact reflects the lack of autonomy in Russian thinking. And the nonexistent Iron Curtain forms a false sense of one’s own correctness. And this is an artificially formed outlook. Even Hollywood films in different countries have different edits, endings, and posters. Often with opposite meanings. And where then is this center? Anywhere. But everyone is sure it isn’t in their backyard. The Americans have managed to accomplish more because at least they are confident that the center is with them. Russia has been assigned the role of a global backwater. Hence, internally, no one looks for causes. From here follows the “concern” for resources. With maximum squandering of them. Almost the whole cosmos wants to take their resources. It’s ridiculous. People are driven to a poor state by their own efforts. And dying in battle, not giving in to provocations, is precisely what is needed so that this people dies faster.
I will refrain from arguing about the extraterrestrial origin of the implemented System)))
Everyone has the right to their own opinion. My opinion was shaped by the works of Ajazi, Kolchin, and other ufologists, as well as multiple visual observations of unidentified objects. (Moreover, I accept only those observations where several attendees are present, and their descriptions match).
If we mention the Nazis, there are so many mysteries))) – and factories producing “discs” that existed on paper but disappeared after the Nazi upper echelon fled and “the disc” hanging above the battle site during the Kursk battle, and Admiral Byrd’s expedition to the shores of Antarctica, attacked by disk-shaped objects emerging from the water, and submarines surfacing off the coast of Portugal, allegedly transporting people in masks and hidden treasures of the Third Reich to Antarctica, and a statement from one of Hitler’s vassals claiming they found a supposed paradise on Earth, and hints that beneath the ice of Antarctica lies the lost Atlantis (perhaps the Center is still in Antarctica))) and by the way, yes, the mention of a squad of super-humans, immune to bullets and knives, personal bodyguards of Hitler, with the claim that this squad allegedly came from Tibet. Also, I recall the frescoes on the inner walls of Egyptian pyramids, clearly depicting how beings made up of parts of different human bodies created humans with specified properties.
By the way, you mentioned Muldashev. He is not an esoteric but an ophthalmologist who organized expeditions to Tibet to search for new (or rather, long-forgotten old) technologies for ophthalmology and expressed in books the information he gathered parallel to his main line of research. Thus, in my opinion, what he articulated most importantly is the Atlanteans’ message to our race, a bitter experience of our ancestors, expressed in two words – REALIZE YOURSELVES.
There’s one point I’ve been pondering for a long time – the implementation of the System has been occurring for several decades already, while a human’s life is relatively short – for whom are those 3% of scumbags you mentioned laboring for – for their children, grandchildren? – highly unlikely. I come to one most probable explanation. The lifespan of the beings initiating the implementation of the System is considerably longer than that of humans, hence their thoroughness and calculation, but they desire to remain in the shadows so as not to incite panic among the population and cover themselves with Masons, the Pentagon, the world government, and Nazi fairy tales. But this is just my subjective opinion. I do not claim the truth.
The system of non-monetary exchange also occupies my thoughts, though the question is not in the money itself but in the artificial hypertrophying of money’s value, which essentially serves as merely a medium of exchange.
The greatest weakness of a person is the need to extract resources to maintain their body in a state of “life” – and on this weakness manipulative consciousness players operate.
And regarding the choice between Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola, yes you are right, this confirms the attempt to instill into humans that there is actually no choice))) – The only thing that can certainly be said is that each of us will die, regardless of status in society or the resources we possess. Life and death are the two poles around which manifest existence turns. And people generally prefer not to think about death, choosing instead to chase after a bunny like hounds in a circle))) What constitutes an “alternative choice,” beyond music, in your understanding, Aurelius? I’m very curious…
Death is just the beginning of something new… But to be more precise, it is a continuation of an action that has already been ongoing for an indefinite period of time. Physical death is merely a switch between stages of development or degradation… First and foremost, dying is advantageous for us… A person receives a general absolution and simultaneously, in this way, almost all problems are removed. The entirely different question is: who understands this? And who knows how to make use of it?
Pavel, so you mean that one can sin and do whatever one wants throughout life, regardless of the consequences, and after death everything will be forgiven (by whom?) and that life will be granted again immediately?
Magic is magic, it has common knowledge. Branching into types does not divide it.
It is very interesting to read! A tickling around the hypothalamus confirms the truthfulness of the texts. I will even say more, when my throat chakra was humming, I was producing similar texts… It’s nice to experience it again…
I really liked the article. I especially want to thank you for the description of strength and will.
Conversations, judgments from the outside about the Natural. This is undoubtedly useful for general development. But there is a suggestion to spend more time on your western path, with the same Druids, Celts, and to call everything clearly by its names. The Slavic Spirit has not flown close here. The system of Yggdrasil is further from Slavic circles than from the Sephirot. The magic in the articles here is essentially witchcraft, sorcery, possession of sidhe and all this is great, but it doesn’t yet smell of magic. Why engage in cunning musings?
Once again, THANK YOU, Enmerkar!!!
