Good day. Is it important for a person to stay with one foot in Heaven, and the other in Hell, or does he ultimately need to make a choice? Is there a task in magic to get rid of internal conflict?
Being ‘one foot in Heaven and the other in Hell’ describes the position of human consciousness in the world economy :). And this does not necessarily imply a psychological conflict; this conflict is ontological, and the very existence of a human being is the neutralization of this binarism. By definition, the human level of consciousness is the level at which “spirit” most fully intersects with “matter.” It is this state alone that can provide the impetus for a leap into Eternity. Both angels and gods must first become human in order to transcend the circle of limited existence.
What has to happen for gods/angels to become human? Gods might have a conscious decision, but angels clearly don’t strive for that, do they?
Why are there no mention of spirits in service in Norse mythology (except that the elves are somewhat similar), while in Kabbalah there are free spirits? Did the creators of these myths not have contact with them, or did they simply prefer not to mention them? Is it possible to achieve successful realization while operating within the framework of just one myth? And if so, is additional confusion and wandering from mixing traditions necessary?
Where do we know what the gods and angels think, and how they make their decisions? Tradition says that angels, as serving spirits, do not have a monadic nature and can only possess humans, but do not become them. Where do angels draw their power (nourishment) from? In the case of demons, it’s clear – they acquire it through predation. But with them, how?
Angels obtain earthly pleasures for maintaining the activity of life, keeping order on Earth. They draw power from the god who actualized them as angels on his Earth.
