Pagan Myth

Every path consists of two components: its ideology (Myth) and its rules (Law).

Let us begin examining the peculiarities of the Way of the Volkhv by outlining in broad strokes the key concepts of this Way’s Myth.

First, the pagan worldview proceeds from the notion that at the root of any event lies a specific will that makes the event necessary.

At the same time, one can discern a clear, if branching, hierarchy of such Wills, ranging from the Infinite Will of the Most High down to the distinct will of a particular cosmic energy.

Moreover, this hierarchy does not imply strict subordination; it only indicates a place within the overall system. What is regarded in monotheistic religion as a terrible sin (for example, the uprising of lower beings — angels — against the supreme God) is not condemned in paganism, but is on the contrary, often seen as heroic (and this is not only the classical image of Prometheus, but also the slaying of Ymir, the expulsion of the Tuatha Dé Danann by the Milesians, and so on).

It is precisely this outlook that gives rise to a prominent feature of the pagan worldview, namely its deep anthropocentrism.

Humanity was not regarded as the pinnacle of the cosmos, and yet humans could challenge the gods and even subdue them.

At the same time, there always remained a clear sense of the necessity of cosmic harmony; only this harmony was understood differently than in monotheistic religions — it was the harmonious coexistence of higher and lower, in which each side’s rightness or wrongness was judged not merely by status but by its relation to the World Process. A god could be accused, condemned, and even punished.

And this type of relationship precisely gave rise to one of the earliest models — that is, one of the Myths — of conduct on the Way.

The pagan worldview is, essentially, a profoundly free outlook on the world. People, gods, and spirits compose a symphony within it, and in this symphony every note is necessary; broadly, no note is more important than another. Of course, there are some voices that play more prominent solos, yet any element, even the seemingly insignificant at first glance, contributes to the overall system, and its loss or alteration changes the whole system.

  1. In order to become human, an angel must rebel against God.
God demotes the angel to demons. That is, an angel from the angelic world will be sent to the demonic world.
There, they will be offered a position with the prospect of growth. Then, at some stage, they will refuse to cultivate the demonic essence.
Then they will enter the abyss (the interworld) where the status of the essence is determined.
In the abyss, the essence is dispersed by demons and angels for the quickest definition of the essence.
In the abyss, there must emerge a human capable of balancing the angelic and demonic beginnings within.
By balancing, that is, reducing the outflow of power into the demonic and angelic worlds, one can speak of the appearance of Man.

  2. The accepted worldview, the postulates of which we absorb from childhood and which is automatically considered the only truth, is also a Myth.

Myth is not a fairytale that is read at night. Myth is the environment in which we live, truly live.

The technocratic Myth of modernity, based on the principle of Technological Determinism, no matter how externally attractive, leads the planet to depletion and humanity to degeneration.
The planet with all forms of life inhabiting it is a single living organism, and the disruption of coherence and integrity of at least one ecosystem leads to disruptions of other ecosystems, as everything in nature is interconnected.
The hopelessness and losing nature of the Technocratic Myth is obvious to me as an ecologist. Technologies are developing, but humanity is wilting. Clean water is a deficit, clean air too; products grown on land are full of poisons, not to mention the bright wrappers for plastic food, which, once torn and thrown away, decompose in the ground for decades, or even hundreds of years. People are, of course, “fighting for ecology”))), but there is no benefit from it.

In my opinion, the problem lies in the initial settings, statements, and laws. What is a person striving for?
(I once found myself in the apartment of a deceased person; they were already taken away, but the feeling of their presence remained; there were medicines on the shelves, a book with a bookmark, a stack of empty bags for bread, kept “just in case” – that was all they strived for; that was all the Technocratic Myth can offer, oh yes, I forget, I had an acquaintance in Odessa – sniffing coke through a hundred-dollar bill, driving a new 500-series Mercedes, owning a supermarket at 25 (successfully marrying the daughter of the vodka factory owner); he was happy with life and himself – nightclubs, girls, cocktails, dances, bars, expensive restaurants, gadgets, devices – what else could he strive for? – he had everything. – And at seventy, probably all the same – pills on the shelf….)

Maximizing the time allotted for the body to live and that’s it…

The technocratic Myth settings greatly influence human consciousness, defining its desires.
If, due to a traumatic mental event, desires disappear, then one does not want to live at all. The threads connecting a person from the inside to external objects, items, people, who are still held captive by desires dictated by technocratic settings, are severed. A person finds themselves in a vacuum, in Her Majesty Emptiness, which settles inside as the external no longer fills the internal space. And life continues on autopilot; the instinct of self-preservation doesn’t allow for its end. There are many such people – empty, living only for needs and filling the void with anything, just to avoid remembering that, in fact, life is unnecessary…

Of course, everyone has a chance to stop, throw out the trash (whatever fills the inner void) and look inside themselves. To ask themselves – What is the meaning of my life? Why do I live? – and to answer these questions honestly. Answers help to see a completely different picture, they help shift the focus of consciousness from the habitual perspective. It is at this moment that it becomes clear that the goals and aspirations dictated by the technocratic worldview are illusions that allow and promote deep forgetfulness of oneself.

And then the question arises about another Myth, in living by which you take Your Place and are Your True Self, striving for Self-Actualization.
The pagan worldview, formed by people observing natural processes and interacting with them without introducing artificial elements, is closest to humanity as an inseparable part of nature.

    • Most modern technicians are very smart – in technology, but know almost nothing about their biology and psychology. The focus of their will is displaced outside of basic biological consciousness. A paradox arises: a technician lives in a biological body but strives for technology. Therefore, they feel that “technology is important, and biology is unimportant,” i.e., essentially the technician refuses to accept life as such, getting carried away by technology, which merely serves to sustain life. Foolishness?… Of course, but it is widespread. As a result: we can go across the entire city in a few minutes… But why are we going? To buy antibiotics for a cold. (Caused by technological dust or harmful radiation. 🙂 )

      • Most modern technicians aren’t even very smart in technology. They barely earn a living and nothing more. Very few are genuinely passionate about technology to any extent. And what’s wrong with that? Few have the breadth of consciousness to have several passions or areas of knowledge. And regarding biology – are you familiar with it at a professional level? I bet you’re not. It’s the same “technology” – quantum chemistry, for example. If a person is truly passionate about technology – it comes from within. And for those who don’t like technological progress – how do you get information from this site at all – are you looking at a dish with an apple? 🙂 Don’t confuse technology with the brutishness of people who don’t respect nature. The problem is not in technocracy. Most just aren’t ready for understanding; they can’t see the complete picture of the world. And it’s good if they are passionate about some creativity. Many don’t even have that – they live like bacteria. Well, we ate – now it’s time to sleep; well, we slept – now it’s time to… etc.

  3. Greetings, GATO.
“They barely earn a living and nothing more.”
    And that’s true.
“Very few are genuinely passionate about technology to any extent. And what’s wrong with that?”
If a technician is completely healthy on all levels from spirit to physical body, and understands what they need to remain so, and at the same time is passionate about technology – then I’m only happy for them… But here’s the trouble: I find it hard to name even one such person. However, I know plenty of technicians who are sick in some way. A technician makes technology, whether they want to or not, in their own image and likeness. Chronically ill, possibly psychologically – they will create “sick” technology, likely aimed at a similarly sick consciousness. Of course, there are exceptions, but often such activities cause more harm to everyone than good.
“And regarding biology – are you familiar with it at a professional level? I bet you’re not. It’s the same ‘technology’ – quantum chemistry, for example.”
I can’t imagine where your certainty comes from, and I can hardly imagine how “professional level” fits in here.
The conversation was about where the focus of will is directed and what consciousness is primary. A cat, for example, doesn’t know quantum chemistry, but somehow it understands how to land from the 9th floor onto the ground and run on. And who among us can boast something similar? To do so, without sciences and teachers?
“If a person is truly passionate about technology – it comes from within.”
The main thing is to ensure that what comes from within doesn’t all transition into technology, shortening the lifespan of the technician by about four times.
“Don’t confuse technology with the brutishness of people who don’t respect nature.”
Don’t mix them up – they’ve already been confused long ago, to the point that not everyone can sort them out.
“Most just aren’t ready for understanding; they can’t see the complete picture of the world.”
But is there a complete picture now? Our ancestors had one; there is actually an article about this.

Now I know only one science that seeks to connect the other sciences together and provide a coherent description of the world – that is synergetics, and that is a young science that appeared only in the second half of the 20th century. And yet, for most, it is still too difficult.
The pagan myth dealt with this task long before the modern sciences appeared, and it is more accessible to understanding.

So where is the progress, one might ask?

  4. Earlier there was mention of the hopelessness of the technocratic myth. I don’t like the prefix techno. It’s clear to even an idiot – technology requires the planet’s resources. Even in ideal scenarios, recycling materials will return no more than 99%. Most current recycling technologies can be made cleaner but still far from 100%.
But you shouldn’t criticize technology in vain. Let me present a couple of facts.

    1. Without the internet, I wouldn’t be able to read Enmerkar’s articles. Demons have been gnawing at me, and fighting them was useless. It was constantly eluding, changing, finding new strengths of mine. Now there is a chance for victory; the number of battles won is increasing.

    2. There is a technology to obtain energy in absolutely clean ways, in any quantities. It is already being applied in US military technology, but we won’t see it until oil and gas – the regime’s cash cow – run out. They are even trying to improve the situation in their own way, for example by reducing the world’s population: chemicals in products affecting the immune system, anti-human medicine for the masses, the propaganda of homosexuality, and many more.

If the pagan myth is so good, why did it remain in the past? I believe it’s because the correct perception of the world needed to be elevated to a new level. Perhaps that’s why we currently have a technogenic direction in our civilization. How could we accept and acknowledge the concept of energy as a property of the transformation of the elements of the world if not through our unfortunate machines? And the synthesis of complex structures by human consciousness without our beloved computers? Perhaps we are facing a logical “fall” of civilization before a new rise, which, however, may not occur without our efforts.

    • Did we criticize technology? ))) …..do you dislike the prefix “techno” because it’s almost impossible for a modern person to abandon technology? Even a person living in an iron box in a clean field cannot abandon the internet (I know one such person).

On one hand, a computer with the internet is helpful as a source of information, always at hand, and on the other hand – internet dependency, gaming addiction, physical inactivity. In my childhood, we played outside; it was hard to call home, but now you can’t get children outside due to computers.

By the way, GATO, demons also relate to the Pagan Myth – is it really in the past? – After all, you’re helped by the articles from the blog.

On the second point, I agree with you, and here’s another thought… imagine, employees from some organizations come to work and, day by day, instill programs in the masses promoting homosexuality, reducing lifespan, spreading new viruses that cause epidemics. It’s interesting what they think, does their conscience not torture them? Are they human or nonhuman? – Or maybe the problem is that they were raised that way – such initial settings they absorbed from childhood? – many questions…….. There is no Harmony. Even if you tune into something good, step outside, take a gulp of exhaust fumes and all your mood evaporates. Yet technology is on the verge of fantasy.

“The correct perception of the world” – in my opinion, our ancestors, the pagans, had a much clearer perception of the world than we do. This World is Alive. An Ever-Living World. In modern technocratic understanding, it seems more dead than alive. Remember the plot of Terminator – the messenger arrived in the past – to destroy the cyborgs in their infancy because things are not good in the future under the machines’ power…

Whether good or bad, no one disputes it. Anyone capable of thinking and feeling chooses the Myth that is closest to their heart.

      • “…you dislike the prefix ‘techno’ because it’s almost impossible for a modern person to abandon technology.”
I dislike it for another reason. It’s better to view the technocratic myth as a temporary, unpleasant, but necessary one. It simply needs to be endured, learn something important while living in it. And not to regret the past. And it seems like it is already starting to fall apart. In its place, a new myth should arise. Perhaps it will be the same pagan myth, but grown-up. Technocracy will give us more power over matter and understanding at a new level. And it will be remembered as a mistake that taught us and I think was planned.

“By the way, GATO, demons also relate to the Pagan Myth – is it really in the past? – After all, you’re helped by the articles from the blog.” Is myth a system of representations, am I right? Name the percentage of the current population with a pagan myth. And demons have been and remain. And they feast even in our technocratic age. I have a question for Enmerkar – can they be considered a certain mechanism that allows only those who deserve it to reach a victorious end?
Not in the sense of a medal for bravery, but as a process of self-creation brought to completion. For those whose spirit was not broken in countless battles, who passed through temptations and hardships.

    • This is a topical cultural issue in our days. However, like all other cultural problems. The thing is that before cultural studies and other “Jungianisms” arose, with which the esteemed nobility is currently so passionately enamored, there existed pure reason and natural intuition. A perfect weapon against the predators of consciousness and other wickedness. And it’s largely because these predators were perceived by this weapon, as nothing else but real predators, with the qualification that they are devoid of a substantial, and possibly separated from the internal sphere of a subject. The reality of modern technocracy is such that humans are increasingly dependent on the machines they created (and “Jungianisms”, by the way, are also related; these concepts are related despite the apparent differences). The machine they created subjugates them. How does this subjugation manifest? The human will weakens when they try to make life easier or rid themselves of suffering through external progress. They no longer put themselves to the test, like Odin, nailed to the trunk of Yggdrasil. And the weaker our will becomes, captive to conveniences, the further we drift away from ourselves. Our sense of life dulls; from an overabundance of disjointed debris, we lose the ability to be alone, unable to objectively assess our current state. To see ourselves. And those who can’t see themselves – see nothing. All this noise, the chaotic movement devoid of a Center gets in the way. The result of all this is something terrible, that can only be compared to the loss of sight or hearing (or both at the same time) – cutting off from the Force. Not from an abstract projection claiming an allegory that exists in the mind of a mad professor. But from Real Force, by which life and death themselves are possible. This Force will never belong to one whose world is distorted. So, likely there is no struggle for you, esteemed GATO. You merely faintly imagined some kind of struggle, or at best a victory in this struggle… Perhaps, someone deceitfully suggested this to you (not Enmerkar, of course). Otherwise, you wouldn’t be writing nonsense about a myth that has remained in the past, and a new level it needs to be elevated to… The myth is a perfect description of Reality. The inheritance of the original world of ideas, arriving outside of time and sensory spheres. It is likely that it is the myth that ought to elevate you to a new level, but not the other way around…

    • “Perhaps we are experiencing a logical ‘fall’ of civilization before a new rise.”
I would like to believe that.

    • “Without the internet, I wouldn’t be able to read Enmerkar’s articles. Demons have been gnawing at me, and fighting them was useless.”
GATO, what if everyone around you lived in a pagan myth, then you wouldn’t need the internet. You would take a walk in the nearest forest and find a real sorcerer who would probably help you, not for money, but just so, because it’s necessary. 🙂

      • The internet does not prevent me from regularly visiting the forest and contacting its inhabitants.
Enmerkar performed the role of the sorcerer perfectly, and not in the forest.
In my opinion, he does this much more effectively, staying in the information space, than sitting under an oak and taking in visitors once a week. The world is constantly evolving, and paganism, however right it may be, could not exist forever. Any system of representations is limited to a greater or lesser extent. A new light comes to replace the old, but between the old and the new is a period of darkness. And here’s the most interesting part – what is the limitation of the pagan myth? Here, ladies and gentlemen, the Eastern teachings and quantum mechanics are aligned. It is fundamentally impossible to give an accurate description of our world. As soon as consciousness comes into contact with any object or phenomenon (i.e., observes), it sees the superposition of its “form” and the “form” of the object/phenomenon. Or geometrically speaking, a projection of some m-dimensional object onto its n-dimensional plane of consciousness. For people too often, m > n so the visible reality is incomplete. And when observing gods and demons, m >> n. As a result – their phenomenological description turned out to be suitable for achieving goals, but at the cost of inhuman efforts. Isn’t it time to increase efficiency?

        • “It is fundamentally impossible to give an accurate description of our world.”
You probably mean that it’s impossible to provide an infinitely precise description of the world. Because there can be countless correct descriptions.
But in practice, an infinitely precise description of the world is almost never needed. For effective action, not all m are needed, but enough n that is sufficient.
The task of the right myth is to provide a generally understandable picture, explaining regularities. Including for those for whom m >> n. However, this also results in increased efficiency.

        • Dear GATO, you stepped on the sore spot of a dull blonde 🙂

“And demons have remained as they were. And they feast even in our technocratic age” – the existence of demons – creatures, whose continuation of life is possible only by consuming others’ resources is indisputable.

(Demons (predators) are an Element of the Myth, not some detached system of representations, but a reality that exists and influences me and you).

The world is a harmonious co-existence of predators (– this is also an Element of the Myth (One of the Laws). Humans are also predators. (for example, if I don’t eat the meat of killed animals, I still predate – I eat stems, fruits, plant embryos. Each creature consumes other beings.)

Why is this so? – Perhaps it’s because that is the Idea embedded by the Creator at the moment of Creation (the separation of energy blocks from their common field) and Forming (the introduction of these blocks into consciousness in the form of items and phenomena) of the world.

“It’s better to view the technocratic myth as a temporary, unpleasant, but necessary one. It simply needs to be endured, learn something important while living in it. And not to regret the past. And it seems like it is already starting to fall apart. In its place, a new myth should arise.” – dreams, dreams, where is your sweetness)))

The world that existed several thousand years ago is different from the world we observe today. Change happens gradually – new Elements are incorporated into the accepted system of world description one by one. (A vacuum cleaner will not become a broom, despite the fact that a broom is an environmentally friendly cleaning tool.) It is impossible to return to the past. The system, having turned a circle in its spiral development, returns to the initial point, but… it is no longer the same system – it is now different. It contains both elements that were present before the next cycle of development (or degradation) began, and new elements, Created and Formed in the process of the system’s movement. Is there any point in regretting the past? – No.

The world is fluid – this is also an Idea (Law), originally embedded by the Creator; denying the continuous manifestation of this idea does not relieve from the consequences)))

Who directs the flow of the world? Who initiates the inclusion of certain Elements into the existing reality and the NON-inclusion of others? – Are those beautiful beings going to create a new Myth – a rise after the fall we are witnessing? And who are they, those wonderful beings?

Observing the processes occurring in the world, I concluded that things will only get worse; the Golden Age of humanity is long past. Our civilization is steadily moving towards collapse, and….. this also corresponds to one of the consequences of the Principle of Quaternary (one of the Laws of the Myth) – any system goes through four stages: birth, development, aging, death.

Who will need damn technologies when people go extinct? – a person is a very fragile creation – a nuclear winter, for example, is enough to erase our race from the face of the Earth. Nature, having embodied the Ideas of the Creator will grind almost all attributes of our civilization. A tender sprout breaks through asphalt on its way to the light. It contains immense Living Force. (there’s a film “Life After People” – it clearly shows the processes of Nature returning to its Primal state) –

Nature, having completed a cycle of development, will return to the starting point, but it will not be the same nature it was before our civilization, but a somewhat modified one, through the process of mutations originally laid by the Creator. So it should be because Development goes in a spiral; the third coordinate of the System returning to the starting point differs from the previous one (One of the Laws of the Myth).

The question of Choosing a Myth hinges on fundamental Laws of Being. Do you rely on the World View (world description) given to man by the Creator (Great Spirit), or do you rely on Artificial Layers already created by man (as a being created in the image and likeness of the Creator) over the primordial picture of the world?

The fundamental difference between the ancient pagan and the modern technocrat is that our ancestors described the world in a state much closer to its original condition and acted accordingly. We, on the other hand, instead of learning the True Laws of Being, painstakingly study the Rules of Parasitic worldview and act according to them. And this happens because the overwhelming majority of people have no idea that there is Something Beyond the frameworks of the settings they absorbed from childhood. Thus the Path of Magic cannot be mass.

          • (My previous comment was unsuccessfully parsed)

“Dear GATO, you stepped on the sore spot of a dull blonde”
Not dull at all, but a blonde, still thinking like a human.
By the way, Katya, you are a wonder of nature. In my entire life, I have not seen a girl who is both very beautiful and very intelligent at the same time.

“Our civilization is steadily moving towards collapse”
And let it strive, how many have changed on this planet.

“Is a Principally New Myth possible, GATO?”
I am already living in it.

In these comments, I see a lot of “machine data processing”.
People perceive information, process it based on their knowledge base, and make judgments. Sometimes correct ones.
But still, these are judgments – the result of logical thinking.

When consciousness discards logic, like an instrument that has served its purpose,
When all world descriptions and ideologies fall away as unnecessary protective shells, and immediate vision emerges, then
            you will have the New.

  5. Our world is technological, and that’s its feature. By developing technology, we help other worlds of the sphere to develop too, and this happens without disrupting equilibrium. By the way, the internet is stretched across several worlds. One sad thing… magical beings. Almost all have departed or been destroyed by humans. Merging any world with ours is unlikely, ecology has been cut off at the root.

    • Numen, could you clarify what you mean by “the internet stretched into several worlds”? What worlds are you referring to?

      • Do you need specific identification? 🙂 Or do you really think you’re alone in the universe? ))

    • I’m not sure where he’s reaching out to, but in my worldview, there are certainly things I know for sure, while other things are kept until clarified. One of my biggest quests started when my registration on my laptop failed, and while fiddling around and grumbling, I logged in as Administrator. My version of the Wild Hunt came about because I precisely described what I wanted and who I wanted to meet, simply in a group on “VKontakte.” There was a paid workshop planned, but I didn’t need it. Also, there was a strange twist with an IT conference featuring Ashmanov (the first Google director in Russia). All of this exists on the level of internal emotional thrumming and the funniest coincidences. No one just appeared to me and announced that we’ve connected to the internet, and here it is… But that doesn’t stop me from studying the topic and using the opportunities that have already been established through experience.

  6. I read everything very carefully. And there’s so much interesting in the comments. And you always look inside yourself – to compare and check. And around – where there are similar things. But it starts with oneself. In fact, as a person who has just read about the pagan Myth but was raised somewhat strangely (what’s probably called the Montessori school, only honestly, the primacy of experience and action, followed by theory), I can say that it has just always been within me. Just embedded. Although I didn’t know any names or gods. And there’s also Jung, whom I personally love, with his archetypes and the shamanic illness he experienced at about 10 years old. I love him because I understand him, and at 10 years old, it’s all amazing – to stagger and then bring order. It’s been proven – about the common basic components of the unconscious. And once again, it was proven to me yesterday when we analyzed drawings in the form of labyrinths by one of my new friends. I told her about the Labyrinth of the Minotaur and its symbolism and said – look, maybe this is the case. We were discussing all this cheerfully – and she writes that maybe it’s a sewer. We laughed, immediately realizing that in general, it’s pretty much the same thing. I don’t know what’s planned for the world – for example, there was a completely serious Ragnarök according to one version yesterday, as AiF wrote. I wish that all forms of consciousness are preserved. And that it was beautiful. And if it’s possible – to be truly better (by truly I mean balancing between the poles, which should be present in every true statement)). Why not, I think.

  7. GATO
“And the demons have remained as they were. And in our
technocratic age, they feast. I have a question for Enmerkar – can they be considered a kind of mechanism that allows only those who deserve it to reach a victorious end?”
In my opinion, not only can they be considered but it’s necessary. It would just be good to come up with what to do after this victory. After all, demons really love winners.

    • From my humble observations, each demon has its specialty and a particular imperfect quality attracts a certain demon, which we have confirmation of on this website. Weakly expressed “imperfection” does not allow a demon to latch on, and penetration into the soul does not occur, but attacks are periodically observed; the ‘smell’ of imperfection attracts. Strongly expressed imperfection allows the demon to gnaw through the shell and get inside. Here it grabs a person by that imperfection with a dead grip, and there is no other way to get rid of it, no matter how much you kick it with iron boots, than to uproot that imperfection and throw it out of the soul together with the demon. So demons undoubtedly help a person become something much bigger, but in such an unpleasant way, and for those who could not cope, the divine does not care. Why would it need lazy, weak, dirty, and unsuccessful people? Now it should be clear that those who have achieved perfection do not attract demons, because they do not “smell”, and secondly demons simply have nothing to latch onto.

  8. Here’s the translation:

“Probably this is the right place) I want to write it down.
I have learned from many people, but I have yet to meet anyone I am ready to call a teacher. Each one teaches a bit, but no one I can truly label with that word.
One of them, a person with whom we have been discussing the Christian perspective of his worldview for a long time, despite everything that seems to contradict it, is one of the truly strong practitioners I have met. Yesterday, he proposed a practice for harmonizing relationships with one’s ancestors, which includes messages like “you need to tell your father and mother that they are above you and bow to them.” Many practices regarding ancestors found online are similar to this. I wanted to write about it because, for the most part, we are not taught creativity and exploration—this is due to school—and many simply do not shift their mindset to the idea of “I will do as I wish” and just follow what is available.
Then, my friend and I discussed this practice at length.
I know the person who devised it very well, so I can speak with reason.
And I tried it. As an honest person, I couldn’t lie; it turned out that for some relatives, I could say “I love you,” and for others, “you were born before me,” but I could not say “you are above me” to anyone, let alone bow.
And this is not just a story; it’s a root of evil, really) – because with such a worldview, which is quite prevalent, there is always someone above and below, and in relation to those who are above, it seems the only options are subservience or war (which is quite supported by the facts from the life of that particular practitioner—he has quite extensive contacts, and some of them I see, and they involve either groveling at the feet of “Master, Teacher, Savior” or various forms of conflict). Because he believes he is above.
Accordingly, there are those who are below, and they are the sick and suffering or slaves.
And this is indeed crucial concerning how we relate to our parents—because no Kola can shake this out of us—the first gods we saw were our parents.
And this then reflects on everything in general.
Since, by coincidence, I was neither the youngest nor the impaired in my parents’ understanding, but rather a distinct individual with just different opportunities, it was relatively easy for me. In reality, this reflects on everything—in my world, there are no evil bosses, only wise and more experienced ones, and I gladly subordinate myself where they are right and honestly express where and what I disagree with. There are no cases of subservience to those who possess nothing but a title—this is at work.
I am a big supporter of initiations regarding achieving personal maturity, and one of the male initiations involved a journey or expedition. And this becomes an exam for parents—did they love correctly? Will the child want to return, or will they want to join another lineage? There is a good phrase on this topic about birds—they can fly away at any moment but choose to stay in place.
And people without this Christian notion of “you are above” are worth their weight in gold for me. It is only with them that one can have genuine conversations and everything else that can be significant and magical.
And still, I am thinking about whom I could honestly say “You are above” or “teacher”—to someone who can love and understand more than I can, probably… but I do not know. None of the pagan gods I have encountered were fearsome, nor did they desire anything from me or try to impose anything on me, and I, in fact, did not ask for anything either; none of my animal companions acted that way either… Essentially, all the scariest demons I have encountered were in people—wanting to appropriate, devour, acquire, or bow down and kiss the hems of their clothes.
Maybe someone will find this perspective useful. When we talk about gods and other phenomena, we are discussing the contents of our own mind. And it can be neutral and even friendly. People can have wise and completely non-evil gods, just as companions, and possess the energy of the elements peacefully, out of love, and there is much more that I think we will explore.)”

    • Maria, this is a very interesting point. Definitely, people who have no issues with their mother and father will easily say this and bow down, etc. 🙂 The hesitation only arises during real strains in relationships, and perhaps it’s some kind of therapeutic workaround to say this, to finally suppress one’s ego 🙂 because in reality, no one is below or above anyone else; everyone is on their own path, and everyone is crawling along as best they can. In general, people who advise different practices don’t bother to explain the mechanisms of how they actually work. A modern person clearly finds the authority of “sacred texts” insufficient; they want a user manual instead. I’m just like that myself. 🙂

      • I can calmly say and bow, but that is a lie. That’s why I really can’t. It’s hard for me to speak specifically here because I’m stepping into territory whose laws I don’t clearly see—I was born this way and have always been. Any lie turns me inside out, and that is the scariest thing that can happen in my world. Literally, something incredibly important wants to burst out and run away.
I wouldn’t want to discuss the criteria of health either.
Any awareness is built on dialogue. In this case, I see no exchange other than the exchange of diagnoses.
        Defined—by whom?
Why do you think I have an ego, that it hurts, and that we’re all crawling?
Why did you decide that I need writings and instructions?
Where in all this is your personal awareness, your experience and questions to me, and conclusions? I didn’t see any of that. What is the purpose of this comment?

        • I wrote about myself, just like most of the people present here 🙂 I might want to bow and say, but I can’t; I do have that ego, and sometimes it gets out of control when it should know its place. Personally, I am crawling, although maybe someone is flying. But I don’t get too upset; they say that those born to crawl will get through anywhere 🙂

  9. I also consider it important. And again, I speak as someone who has lived through this himself, from both sides – as a child and as a parent.
One of the lessons is, of course, to let go. Truly, not just on the surface, because so many parents live with their adult children and live their lives, and vice versa…
When returning from a journey, who will the child want to become for their parent, and will they want to? That is truly a valuable lesson.
Will they become friends and will they respect and love each other just because, simply because upon meeting such a person, they would love them for who they are, not because of some strange right of seniority, and even worse, for reasons of dependency.
And so, part of my relatives – they simply were born earlier. That’s all. They don’t deserve any bows.
And part of them made me free and my world whole. And I love them. And that doesn’t require any bowing.
Returning to magic – for example, mine hardly requires rituals and even less so sacrifices in the usual sense of the word. In fact, it’s quite different) it’s a personal dialogue with the world.

  10. The topic of relationships with parents is very important for growing up, taking responsibility for oneself and one’s life, and becoming independent. Acknowledging the significance of parents, their seniority in the family, and expressing gratitude for oneself is an important stage of maturity, no matter who they are or what good or bad they have done. It is precisely because of the good and the bad that we have become who we are and have our unique experiences. On some level, harboring resentment towards parents, anger and hate, and rejecting them is a rejection of oneself and one’s individuality.

This is very much connected to the Spirit of Possession.

At one time, I found a book that helped me: Geoff Graham, “How to Become Your Own Parent.” It is very accessible and practical.

    • Yes, we further calculated things out there, which, as part of the technique, is good and nonetheless reflects the personal imprint of the author. Of course, no one would say, “This is my worldview,” but he always talks only about the Father and about worship. We’ve decided for ourselves that we actually need to learn everything – to truly love, to be able to be in relationships with everyone – as a child, as a parent, and so on. And so it all turns out that way; the only thing is that spending an entire life on one lesson, I think, is not worth it. I just have a suspicion that we ourselves want to learn everything, and somewhere in there, what is not quite us is indifferent to time and the number of lives lived and the biomass burned and wishes to learn to love. Why not try it ourselves and see what comes of it?
